Baron Skarr nominated Jason, securing enough support for the Overlord position. Queen Rak’hael, however, refused to nominate Jason, prioritizing her integrity over the valuable Aqualith stones, much to Jason's surprising admiration. As Jason had already won the vote, the council members were caught off guard when Diane stood up and began to leave with her warriors.

For the second time, Diane found herself within the Hall of Heroes after her nomination for the next Overlord, and for the second time, the council bypassed her, bestowing the position upon another. An palpable aura of rage emanated from Diane, yet her expression remained impassive as she departed with her head held high. As Diane passed by Jason, her gaze flickered towards him. In that fleeting instant, her carefully controlled emotions broke free, unleashing an undiluted torrent of fury directed at Jason. Diane's eyes narrowed, her teeth clenched so fiercely they audibly ground together. If looks possessed the power to kill, Jason would have met his demise countless times over. Yet, Jason appeared utterly unfazed by Diane’s fury. He offered a subtle smile and a nod in return, prompting Diane’s hand to clench as she whirled back towards him, bristling with anger. However, one of Diane's warrior women placed a hand on her shoulder, halting her movement.

Diane turned her head towards the woman for a brief moment. The warrior discreetly gestured towards a shadowed corner of the room where the leader of the Nameless Keepers stood, observing them with a tranquil demeanor. Diane’s jaw tightened in frustration. She cast one last irate glance at Jason before shrugging off the woman’s restraining arm and finally exiting the hall. Jason understood with absolute certainty that this encounter with Diane was far from over. He summoned one of his subordinates.

’Follow her and ascertain if you can infiltrate her domain. If successful, maintain surveillance and report any schemes she might be concocting. Should entry prove impossible, remain within one of the parallel worlds until further instructions are issued.’

The subordinate responded with an eager affirmation, its form instantly vanishing from the Alternate Dimension. It then slipped through the shadows, pursuing Diane and her contingent of warriors.

On Jason’s other side, the remaining candidates, having already faced defeat, showed no inclination to vacate the chamber. Jason recognized their lingering presence was due to the Aqualith stone he had just revealed. Even those outside the council’s direct membership grasped the significance of the stone, prompting both the lizardman and the head of the magic academy to seek advantageous trade agreements with Jason, aiming to exchange the stone for gold or other valuable resources. A small sigh of relief escaped Jason once the voting concluded. He then turned his gaze sideways, observing Gina’s beaming countenance.

Jason had previously confided his plan to Gina, but despite her prior knowledge, she remained deeply impressed by his skillful execution. Jason had not only established his superiority as a candidate but had also strategically positioned the council in such a precarious situation that nearly all its members were compelled to endorse him. Gina had always suspected Jason possessed a talent for politics. Although he was a man of direct action, a subtle, calculating intelligence lay beneath his surface, deliberately kept concealed. It was as if Jason was acutely aware of his own capacity for cunning, yet chose not to employ it, preferring instead his overt approach. Gina was convinced that Jason's sole reason for abstaining from a political career was a simple lack of interest. Nevertheless, witnessing Jason’s complete and masterful command of the meeting, demonstrating such overwhelming influence, revealed to Gina that he was finally accessing that deeply buried aspect of himself. Gina’s smile broadened, stretching her lips to an almost impossible width as a surge of pride swelled within her heart. She could hardly fathom that her fiancé was on the cusp of becoming the Overlord of their entire Domain.

From his elevated position among the council, C’thlyanu finally broke the silence.

"Very well, it appears the Esteemed Council members have reached a unanimous decision regarding the most suitable candidate for this esteemed position. While not every member is in complete accord, a majority vote suffices, leaving no room for equivocation. Now, I must confess that I do not advocate for the use of threats or coercion in securing support. However, in this particular context and manner, it serves as a demonstration of the candidate’s capabilities. Therefore, I shall permit it. Jason Marc, by majority vote, you have been nominated to assume the responsibilities of Overlord for the Sixth Domain. Do you accept this profound honor?"

Jason drew a steadying breath, exhaled slowly, and then inclined his head in affirmation.

"I accept."

DOON!

A sudden, powerful tremor coursed through the hall. Jason observed as an immense magic circle materialized upon the raised platform at the hall's center. A second circle formed above the Sixth Seat of the council, designated for the Sixth Overlord, while a third inscribed itself upon Jason’s chest, directly over his heart. C’thlyanu’s resonant voice boomed throughout the assembled hall.

"Let it be known to all, then. May the beasts of the sea, land, and air bear witness today. May all creatures of darkness and all beings of light offer their respects. I am Jason Marc of Earth, holder of the Blood Oath of Gillian, and a Dead Apostle of Fire. The Undying King of Legend, and the supreme authority of Earth. It is declared that on this day, this man has earned the council's support and my favor. He has now risen above all ranks and authorities within the known Primordial Expanse to bear the immense responsibility bestowed upon him. He is now an esteemed member of the Council of Nine and One, and the great Overlord of the Sixth Domain. From this day forward, may he be known as Lord Jason, the Sixth Seat of the Council of Nine and One."

"Welcome, Lord Jason, Sixth Seat of the Council of Nine and One!"

The assembled council members echoed the greeting in unison. They raised their hands, conjuring arcane circles that bloomed with mana, signifying their acceptance of Jason's inauguration into their esteemed ranks. Jason observed the magical sigil that materialized upon his chest, its slow rotation aligning with his own magical signature. A connection formed between him and the exalted high seat designated for the Sixth Overlord! From this precise moment, that seat was irrevocably his. As the sole occupant of this seat, Jason was now acknowledged by the council as the supreme authority within the Sixth Domain. Any decree he enacted within his domain, provided it did not transgress the Primordial Treaty, would be considered absolute law!

Across the entirety of the Primordial Expanse, every sentient race connected to the Council of Nine and One experienced a simultaneous, collective realization. They felt Jason's mana extending towards them, a palpable presence. The leaders of the myriad worlds composing Jason's Domain quickly grasped the significance of his newly acquired title as Overlord of the Sixth Domain. Preparations commenced immediately for individuals to extend courtesies and pay homage to their new Domain Overlord!

Within the world of Vanta, Jason's stepmother, Bethsha, paused in her work at her desk, a look of astonishment gracing her features. A smile then bloomed as she sensed her stepson's mana reaching out to her! Bethsha had always anticipated Jason achieving great things, yet even she could not have foreseen an accomplishment of such magnitude!

'I suppose a visit to Earth is in order soon. It would be remiss of me not to meet with the new Overlord of my Domain. Fufu, I eagerly anticipate sharing this news with my sister-wives.'
