Strongest Necromancer System Chapter 790: The Reunion
Previously on Strongest Necromancer System...
The Bengari are governed by a formidable Monarch. Though their realm lacks the technological and economic progress of many others, it boasts exceptionally potent magic and advanced runes. These they utilize to augment their beings, enabling them to rival any parallel world in combat. During a prior conflict, the valiant Bengari women bravely confronted numerous worlds that menaced their sovereignty, earning the respect of many domains and elevating their standing in the sixth domain. Nevertheless, even with numerous allies, the Bengari could not match the might of the more technologically sophisticated Machina. When the selection of an Overlord became imminent, King Rubik secured sufficient council support to be chosen as the leader of the sixth Primordial Domain. This decision profoundly enraged the Bengari, who then vowed not to engage in any political affairs concerning the council unless their own leader was granted the head seat of this domain. True to their word, the Bengari have remained isolated from council matters for the past two centuries. However, with Rubik's demise, it is highly probable that the Bengari women will seek to reclaim the council seat, likely with intensified demands stemming from their previous disappointment.
Jason clicked his tongue in irritation, having absorbed all this information. He had already anticipated the women posing a challenge, but the details he just read indicated that the Bengari would be far more than a minor obstacle! The Bengari women possessed a valid justification for desiring the sixth seat, meaning Jason's own claim could potentially face contention. Jason acknowledged his previous indecision regarding the seat, but now that he was resolute in obtaining it, he would permit no one else to seize it! He shifted his gaze and observed Gina's eyes still narrowed in a glare. Jason nudged her shoulder, inquiring with a raised eyebrow about her distress. Gina turned to him, surprised, and blushed faintly upon seeing his curious expression. She hadn't even realized she was still frowning! Shaking her head, Gina responded with a hint of vexation.
"It's those women. Their words simply infuriated me. I don't understand how you remained so composed then."
Jason merely shrugged nonchalantly and assured Gina it was inconsequential.
"They posed no threat to me, so why should I concern myself with them? Furthermore, we are currently on neutral territory, so they are aware I cannot attack them regardless of their provocations. It would be a different situation if we were outside. Just disregard them. They hold no importance."
Gina finally exhaled, releasing her pent-up tension. She clutched Jason's arm more tightly and nodded in agreement. Then, Gina spoke again, a slight frown creasing her brow.
"But did you hear what they mentioned about their 'big sister'? Do you believe she will also vie for the council seat?"
"Indeed, without a doubt. However, I doubt it will alter the outcome. The council evaluates both your individual prowess and the strength of your associated world when selecting an overlord. While Earth may not be strong enough to triumph against their world, unless this 'big sister' is a Primordial, I have nothing to fear regarding personal power."
Gina nodded solemnly, accepting Jason's explanation. Given Jason's considerable might, she was certain that only a Primordial could possibly pose a threat to him! In fact, Gina harbored doubts whether even weaker Primordials could contend with Jason's power! Consequently, any TITAN would stand no chance! As they proceeded, Jason pondered the arguments he would present during the trial and some of the counterpoints he had devised for anticipated council member inquiries. He would have remained engrossed in these thoughts, maintaining a state of partial focus, but he was jolted back to the present when he suddenly sensed something approaching them. Gina hummed softly and turned as she felt Jason decelerate. A wide smile spread across Jason's face, prompting Gina to inquire about his sudden cheerfulness.
Jason simply asked Gina to wait a few moments. In less than five seconds, Gina's face lit up as she too sensed what Jason had perceived! A magical signature was heading their way, and Gina grasped Jason's arm firmly as a voice resonated from around the bend.
"Priestess, I was unaware you were acquainted with the esteemed Queen. She spoke to you as if you were kin."
"Yes, I know. It was peculiar, but I suspect Jason might be connected to it. You needn't trouble yourself over it."
"Priestess, I believe we should return to the Hall of Heroes. The Keepers indicated that the trials are set to commence shortly."
"Not yet, I want to speak with Jason and Gina before they—"
The voices belonged to Riyala and her two bodyguards, Talum and Gruwen. As Riyala and her guards rounded the corner, Riyala’s eyes widened upon seeing Jason and Gina. A radiant smile instantly bloomed on Riyala’s face, and she dashed towards Jason, leaping into his embrace!
"Jason!"
Riyala’s arms encircled Jason’s neck tightly. Jason spun her around, a joyous laugh escaping him! It had been months since they last saw each other. Riyala’s heart ached with a mix of pain and happiness as she relished the embrace of Jason’s arms, a feeling she hadn’t experienced in so long! After a few moments, Jason ceased spinning, gently setting Riyala down. He smiled at her, his thumb caressing her tear-streaked cheeks.
"You haven’t changed a bit, have you, little priestess? Still weeping like a child when you’re happy."
Riyala sniffled with delight at Jason’s words, her cheeks flushing as her futile attempts to halt the tears continued! Riyala had truly missed this! She missed his presence; she missed his voice! The effects of her priestesshood, which limited her ability to form deep bonds with anyone but Jason, still lingered. At this moment, it felt as though she was reuniting with her father, brother, and lover all at once! Jason leaned down, planting a tender kiss on Riyala’s lips. Riyala surrendered to the kiss, her body melting into it! Clutching Jason’s robes, she drew him closer, tears of joy streaming down her face as she lost herself in the embrace! Eventually, Jason pulled back, patting Riyala’s head before kissing her temple.
"How have you been, my love?"
Riyala wiped her tears with the back of her hand, a sniffle escaping her. She then offered Jason the most brilliant smile he had ever seen from her.
"I missed you so much, I thought I would perish."
Jason offered a wistful smile, bestowing another quick kiss upon her before reassuring her that all was well now. With Jason’s return, Riyala would no longer have to face her hardships alone. Riyala nodded, a soft chuckle escaping her as Jason’s thumb brushed over her delicate cheek, wiping away the last of her tears. After her heartfelt reunion with Jason, Riyala finally turned and noticed Gina standing beside him! A faint blush of guilt spread across Riyala’s face; she had been so engrossed with Jason that she hadn’t even acknowledged Gina’s presence! Just as Riyala was about to apologize to her senior sister-wife, Gina smiled warmly, extending her hand towards Riyala. Riyala’s eyes immediately sparkled with joy, and she rushed to embrace Gina as well!
