In a secluded cave, a woman tends to her brother suspended in a magical cylinder, having protected him for thirty years as she anticipates his imminent resurrection to reclaim his stolen birthright from Jason Marc. News of Jason's conquests over the Machina and his undead legion has reached her, fueling her resolve. Meanwhile, Jason lies unconscious from exhaustion after his battles and Vympir transformation, with Hesabeth monitoring him closely. She initiates a tense interdimensional call to Farlow and Gina using a rare Crystal Ball, where Gina impatiently demands Jason's location, prompting Hesabeth's frown.

Hesabeth released a soft exhale, choosing to overlook Gina's rudeness, and she pulled out her fan, opening it to shield her lower face prior to speaking.

"Jason Marc remains in good condition. Currently, he's recovering from fatigue, and I'm uncertain about his awakening time."

"Where is he? I want to come see him."

Gina insisted fiercely on visiting Jason, yet Hesabeth shut her fan with a snap and dismissed Gina with a gesture.

"Regrettably, I can't permit that right now. Jason’s form is undergoing major transformations due to the recent clashes, along with absorbing the Blood Oath. Until those shifts fully emerge, it's wiser to keep him secluded from any magic that might disrupt the process."

"What!? What are you even talking about!?"

Fury boiled within Gina! Under usual circumstances, Gina wouldn't dare address Hesabeth so boldly because of Hesabeth’s Bias, but right then, her rage at Hesabeth’s latest deeds overpowered her urge to avoid Hesabeth’s displeasure! Gina could hardly fathom this woman! Hesabeth had thrust Jason into the grimmest ordeal, and now she spoke of him as if they were close allies!? What entitled Hesabeth to utter his name at all!?

Farlow placed his hand on Gina’s shoulder upon detecting her magic surging out in furious bursts, and Gina shot him a fierce look. However, Farlow simply signaled for Gina to step back and compose herself, so Gina clenched her fists tightly before pivoting away, letting Farlow approach the crystal ball. As Farlow confronted Hesabeth, he posed a straightforward query.

"The changes you mention. Is it the Blood Metamorphosis?"

Hesabeth murmured affirmatively to Farlow’s statement before affirming with a nod. Blood Metamorphosis represented a vital event that all fresh Dead Apostles experienced post Blood Oath. It was viewed as a holy initiation, where the full Blood Oath integrated completely with the new Dead Apostle, enabling effortless command over their fresh underlings and abilities. Jason ought to have undergone the metamorphosis immediately after Gillian bestowed the Blood Oath, but Hesabeth’s Bias meddling had compelled him to wield his Vympir abilities in their raw state. With the conflict now concluded, Jason’s physique required adjustment, necessitating isolation for several days to wholly embrace the Blood Oath. Farlow grasped this as essential, yet he suspected Hesabeth harbored hidden intentions for aiding Jason’s Metamorphosis. She could have transported Jason to Farlow’s realm for recovery, but her choice to take him elsewhere raised alarms. Farlow’s gaze sharpened as he addressed her with menace.

"I trust you're mindful of your predicament, Hesabeth. Your rage has inflicted massive destruction upon the world, and you've drawn severe sanctions from the council on your realm. We've cautioned you repeatedly against unleashing your Bias at full strength, yet it seems our admonitions went unheeded. Punishment awaits you, and it would be prudent not to tarnish your already tarnished standing further by endangering Jason."

Hesabeth’s face darkened progressively as Farlow continued. Clearly, she had no patience for his words, but she recognized their truth. Grave consequences loomed for her recent deed, though Hesabeth remained indifferent. She was someone convinced of her own supremacy. Her caprices shaped the world's fate, and her cravings bound all life. The council's regulations against her Bias existed only because she consented to them in the Primordial Treaty, and should she choose to disregard them, no one could oppose her! Hesabeth bound herself to the law solely by her own allowance!

Yet Hesabeth stayed rational, no idiot either. She realized defying the law would establish a dangerous example, potentially crumbling the entire legal framework. If a council member evaded penalty for their deeds, others might follow suit, soon rendering the law a mere scrap, plunging the world into chaos anew, another Period of Lawlessness! Thus, for harmony and tomorrow's sake, Hesabeth resolved to endure her destiny.

"You and the council can proceed as you see fit. I acknowledge the law and will endure any penalty deemed for my deeds. Regarding Jason, rest assured I won't injure him. Upon finishing his Metamorphosis, he'll be at liberty to pursue his desires."

"What is the meaning of this!?"

Gina burst out from the sidelines upon noticing the leaders nearing an accord she despised! She had zero interest in Hesabeth's explanations, nor concern if Hesabeth intended harm to Jason! Gina simply demanded Hesabeth return Jason to her! She scowled at Hesabeth with bared teeth.

"Bring Jason back to me right now or else -!"

"Or else what?"

Hesabeth’s cutting voice sliced Gina’s protest sharply, and Gina ground her teeth in rage as profound irritation swelled in her chest! Hesabeth was aware Gina held no power against her, no matter her wishes! Not even mighty Primordials could touch Hesabeth, making an SSS Rank like Gina seem infantile before her! But Hesabeth sighed softly aside, aware Jason would disapprove of her handling of Gina, and she addressed her steadily.

"Instead of dwelling in helplessness over your plight, shouldn't you focus on improving yourself so that when Jason comes back, you can stand by his side anew. Don't assume you're alone in valuing Jason. I hold him dear immensely, and thus, I value those he treasures too. I suggest you cultivate your inner power and elevate it properly. Jason’s Metamorphosis will span a week, and it would be a letdown if he finds you unchanged from when he departed upon his return. That's my final word. My contacts will reach out to inform you of Jason’s advancement."

"Wait, Hesabeth! Wait -!"

Gina thrust forward in desperation to utter more, but the crystal ball flickered and shut down before she could speak! A fierce wave of wrath coursed through Gina upon grasping Hesabeth wouldn't yield Jason, and she unleashed a sharp curse in vexation! This was outrageous! Gina pounded her fist on the table, while Farlow cleared his throat behind her and remarked serenely.

"I would appreciate it if you didn’t destroy that communication device. It is quite rare."
