Jason unleashed the full power of his Resonance, overwhelming the Kraken with a devastating Resonance Orb. The Kraken, injured and desperate, tried to use the pirate ship as a shield, but Jason's attack bypassed it. Aided by a PRIMORDIAL Lightning dragon's attack, Jason's Resonance Orb severely wounded the Kraken. Valeria used her skill to move the ship to safety while Ronna contemplated escape. The Kraken attempted a massive water jet attack, but Jason's Resonance shield protected him. Realizing its defeat, the Kraken tried to flee underwater, but Jason pursued it with another powerful Resonance Orb, causing a massive explosion.

KA-BOOM!

A massive pillar of water shot up from the ocean and rose into the air like a rocket. The pirates all looked up in shock, and they watched as the water blocked out the sun above them and began coming towards their ship. It was going to fucking drown them.

"Raise the defences, men! Raise them, or we’ll go down!"

Ronna shouted towards the men as she poured her mana into the defensive rune carved around the ship, and the men also followed her lead and poured their mana into the defensive rune as well. A golden orb of energy formed around them and protected them just before the wave of water slammed down on them. Ronna was looking at the sheer volume of water falling on them in shock, but she was even more shocked when she noticed that there were large pieces of flesh and bone falling on the shield as well.

’Is that... the Kraken?’

Ronna couldn’t believe it, but she was actually right. Jason’s attack had been so devastating that it had completely eradicated the Kraken to pieces. Jason looked down on the swirling ocean from above. His hands were still in his pockets, and anyone who saw him at this moment would never believe that he had just finished destroying a PRIMORDIAL ranked beast. Jason glanced towards his system tab beside him, and he read through the new notification there.

——

The user has killed [1] PRIMORDIAL Rank I Kraken

+1,200,000 Kill Points

Although the Kraken was seen as one of the most powerful creatures in this world, it just didn’t stand any chance against Jason’s Resonance. Jason put his hand out towards the ocean and poured his magic out before saying:

"Resurrect."

DOON!

The entire region shook as massive waves rose and fell dangerously. The pirates on the ship all held on to anything they could find to make sure they didn’t fall over, and they watched in shock as a loud roar echoed through the region and multiple tendrils tore out from the water before a full-size, honest-to-god Kraken emerged from the ocean. The pirates watched the Kraken rise with the same amount of awe a mortal would display if they saw a god descending upon them. Many of them fell to their behinds, and some even fell to their knees in shock. Ronna stepped forward and watched as the Kraken raised its tentacles towards Jason and wiggled them around him playfully.

When this staff is equipped, all Aquatic skills will gain a 30% boost to stats, and all unintelligent Aquatic beasts in that region will view the user as their master and follow his orders.

——

Jason read through the system notification quickly, and he smiled at the reward. Jason didn’t know how often he would use the artefact since he didn’t fight in water too much, but it would definitely be useful since Jason had a lot of aquatic skills that could also be used on land. Jason checked out the artefact itself and saw that it looked very ominous. The staff was made from a whitish material that seemed like bone, and the staff head was a massive eyeball. There was seaweed and other materials growing from the staff, and Jason had to admit it looked very impressive.

Jason put the staff away, and he smiled at the massive Kraken as he floated down and patted it on the head before he had a mental conversation with it. Jason wanted to learn the location of both the Golden Dragon and the Pirate King, and the Kraken said that it knew exactly where they were. Jason smiled, and he patted the Kraken’s head in thanks before he began moving back towards the boat.

Once Jason landed, he turned to Valeria. Valeria was still as stoic as ever, but there was a bit of pride in her expression now, and she listened closely as Jason spoke.

"I got our next location. It’s not too far away, so we can make it before nightfall if we fly. We might be able to finish faster than I thought."

Valeria nodded in acceptance, but both Jason and Valeria turned in surprise when they saw someone go to their knees beside them. Jason looked down, and he raised a brow when he saw that it was Ronna. The Pirate Captain was on one knee with her head bowed reverently, and Jason had to ask.

"What the hell are you doing?"

Ronna looked up at Jason with an intense expression on her face, and she spoke with absolute seriousness.

"The Kraken is a monster that has tormented us Pirates for millennia. We have suffered many losses because of it. Your ability to kill this enemy so easily is a sign that you are a special man. You possess the power to change this world and everything in it. I want to pledge myself to you. Please, let me serve you."

Jason blinked in surprise, and Valeria actually scoffed in amusement when she heard this.

"Congratulations on your new religion, lord Jason. You just got your first devotee."

Valeria bumped Jason’s shoulder playfully with her own, and Jason clicked his tongue at her in annoyance. Valeria chuckled softly before she turned away and waved towards Jason to tell him that this was his own problem. Jason watched Valeria go for a few seconds before he turned back to look at the kneeling Pirate.

Ronna knew that this was not something she would normally do. It was completely unheard of for a pirate to swear their loyalty to anyone at all. But after what Ronna had just seen, she knew that Jason was someone who could easily reshape this world. The Pirate King was known as the only man that any Pirate on this world would serve, but that man had only become the Pirate King because of his strength and his ability to go toe-to-toe with both the Golden Dragon and the Kraken. But as far as Ronna knew, the Pirate King could not defeat the Golden Dragon or the Kraken.

The fact that Jason could do this seemingly impossible feat meant that Jason was even stronger than the Pirate King. Ronna couldn’t let go of such an opportunity. For the first time in her life, Ronna had a feeling that she would be missing out on a lot if she didn’t dedicate her life to someone.

Jason spoke up calmly.

"I’m not really looking for a servant, so you don’t need to do all that."

"We still want to serve you! Don’t we, men!?"

Ronna spoke up more forcefully, and the other pirates on the ship looked between each other with uncomfortable expressions. None of them were as wise as Ronna, so they couldn’t recognise the extraordinary feat that Jason had just accomplished here. They didn’t know that they had just witnessed history. Ronna quickly turned to them sharply and called out.

"I said, ’DON’T WE MEN’!"

This time, all the men jolted into action as they recognised the anger in Ronna’s voice and they immediately went on a knee and responded.

"YES, CAPTAIN!"
