Jason and his subordinates, including the newly subservient Malovena, board the Red Skins' ship. They confront Ruduls, the ship's cleaner, and the dangerous psychopath Fang. After dealing with Fang, Jason offers Ruduls a choice: fight and die, or leave and never return. Ruduls, terrified of the outside world, begs to stay and continue his duties, revealing a history of mistreatment.

A part of Jason still wanted to get rid of Ruduls, but in the end, Jason decided that it wouldn’t hurt to keep him. Having a servant who knew the ship inside and out was useful, and it would make it easier for Stella to memorize the ship’s layout! Jason threw his hood off his head, and he began to walk towards the stairs while speaking.

"Very well, you can stay, Ruduls. But if I ever notice you doing anything that I don’t approve of, I’ll throw you out into the Hyperspace. Stella over there is my head maid. From now on, you’ll report to her and take orders from her. Do you understand?"

Ruduls nodded so quickly that Jason thought his head would fall off his shoulders! Jason nodded back and then continued forward into the main ship. The ship itself looked very futuristic. The hallways were well lit by light strips along the walls, and there were doors on either side that led towards various rooms. From Malovena’s memories, Jason knew that there were more than twenty rooms in this ship, along with a training room and even a large kitchen.

As Jason walked down the hallway, he could hear the sound of struggling coming from one of the rooms, and Jason walked over and opened the door to see a man with orange skin being held down by three legion subordinates while the fourth one drove a knife into the man’s heart. The man was struggling desperately, and his eyes were blood red as he glared at everyone around him, but there was nothing he could do as he was killed in cold blood! Jason turned away and continued walking without a care in the world before he finally arrived at a large door that led to the main room on the ship.

Jason put in a code he had gotten from Malovena, and the door opened to reveal the cockpit! It was a huge room with massive computers lined up against the walls on either side! In the centre of the cockpit was a high platform with a chair attached to it, and on either side of the chair were silver spherical balls. This chair was the captain’s seat, and it was known as the Link Station! The Hyperdrive ships didn’t work using gears or levers like regular ships back on Earth. Instead, all Hyperdrive ships had a limited amount of consciousness, like an AI, that allowed the ship to be classified as a lower life form.

With the amount of consciousness the ship had, it was impossible for the ship to begin moving around on its own. But the moment a captain sits in the Link Station and connects their mind to the ship, it becomes very easy for the captain to tell the ship what to do down to the finest details! It was one of the most impressive things about the Hyperdrive ships. They were all miniature telepathic systems, and the increased level of connection gave the captains the ability to fly or fight in ways that wouldn’t even be imaginable for regular ships!

"Come on, take your seat, Captain. We have to get out of here before someone notices something."

Valeria walked up from behind Jason, and she hit his shoulder with her own while saying this, and Jason chuckled in amusement as he walked up to the Link Station and took a seat on the high chair. The moment Jason sat down, the seat adjusted to fit him perfectly, and the large panel in front of Jason suddenly became transparent to reveal the outside world like a window! There were people moving around in front of the ship, but Jason knew that it was one-way glass, so the people outside couldn’t see anything going on in here. Jason closed his eyes for a moment and spoke to Malovena through his mental link.

Jason asked Malovena to share her knowledge of how the ship works with him, and Malovena explained everything that she knew about flying the ship. It was all rather easy, and the only thing that would prove difficult was navigation. But Valeria was already very skilled at navigation, and she would be able to help with that easily!

’The ship has to first form a connection with you. The code for reconnection is ’876-237’.’

Jason put his hands on the silver spheres beside him, and he felt the ship immediately rejecting him since he was not the captain. Jason quickly fed the code into the ship, and the ship spoke with a female robotic voice.

[Reconnection Code Accepted]

[Please State Your Name]

"Jason Marc."

[Please Select a New Title for The Ship]

Jason hummed when he saw this, and he thought for a few seconds before he said one word.

"Monarch."

The ship immediately accepted Jason’s order, and the voice spoke up again.

[Welcome, Captain Jason Marc. You have been designated as the new Captain of the Monarch. You will be required to create a new reconnection code.]

Jason created the new code and stored it away in his mind, and Jason could feel the ship settle down as it accepted him. Once that was finished, Malovena spoke up again:

’Now that the ship recognises you as the captain, it will help you fly easily. You just need to tell it what to do, and it will do it.’

Jason hummed calmly when Malovena said this, and Jason flexed his fingers on the silver spheres on either side of him and thought: ’wake up’.

TOOOOON~!

The loud sound of the ship coming to life echoed through the Docking Station, and multiple people all looked towards the ship as the lights came on and flashed brightly! All the computers inside the cockpit also came to life, and Jason could feel a quiet connection forming somewhere deep inside his head, like a baby touching his leg and begging for attention. The ship was alive, but it was very primitive, and its mind was undeveloped, so it wanted Jason to tell it what to do next. As someone who had trained his mind for so long, Jason was more than capable of accepting this connection to his mind, and Jason let out a calm breath before he ordered the ship to move up.

’Slowly now.’

Jason quickly gave a correction when he noticed that the ship was about to shoot up like a rocket, and the ship quickly corrected itself and began to fly up more slowly. Jason allowed the ship to move a few meters before he gently ordered it to turn around, and once the ship was facing the vast open darkness of the hyperspace, Jason pressed his hands on the spheres and ordered.

’Forward.’

PHWOOM!

The ship’s engine thrusters came to life like flamethrowers, and in the next moment the ship shot forward like a rocket!

TWOON!

Valeria stumbled on her feet at the speed they were moving, and she quickly told Jason to slow down.

"There’s a speed limit in this space. If you go too fast, they’ll arrest us. Wait till you’re a few miles away from the Pit."

Jason hummed and slowed the ship down a bit, and they continued to float through the air and out into the vastness of the Hyperspace. Valeria nodded in acceptance, and then she turned and began looking through the various computers on the ship. Jason watched her for a few seconds before he turned away as Gina’s voice came through their mental link.

’Hey babe. How are things going?’

Jason immediately smiled.

’Things are going great, babe. You sound tired. Is everything alright?’

Gina hummed as she turned around in bed.
