Strongest Necromancer System Chapter 1145: The Red Skin Mercenaries
Previously on Strongest Necromancer System...
Jason looked into Valeria’s eyes with intensity, and in there he saw a strong resolve unlike anything he had ever seen before. Did Jason trust Valeria? Yes, he did. Even though she was a mercenary, Jason knew that Valeria cared about the family, and he also knew she wouldn’t abandon him if they were ever in a tough position. Valeria’s desire to kill Gregory was even stronger than Jason’s own, so Jason was sure that Valeria wouldn’t be talking about this mission if it wasn’t really important! Jason let out a calm breath, and he finally nodded.
"Okay."
That was all Jason said, and Valeria nodded back in thanks before she left the table to follow after the server! Once Valeria was gone, Jason felt dozens of eyes immediately turn in his direction from all around the bar. Jason leaned back in his seat and looked to the side to give a hard stare to the people looking at their table, and most of them looked away again once they noticed Jason looking.
"Master, are you hungry? I can get a meal from one of the servers for you?"
Stella spoke up when she saw some of the servers carrying plates of steaming food towards a few tables. Stella had no idea what the meals on those plates were, but they looked edible enough, and Stella was a master chef, so she would make sure that they were fit for consumption before giving them to her master! But Jason raised his hand and told Stella not to bother.
"Just relax, I’m waiting for someone."
Stella blinked in surprise when she heard this from Jason. Her master was waiting for someone? Stella knew that they hadn’t met anyone on their journey here, and Jason never mentioned anything about meeting someone when they arrived here. Who could Jason possibly be waiting for? Stella leaned forward and asked Jason who was coming, and Jason kept his eye on the entrance of the bar as he answered.
"They’ve been following us for a while now..."
Stella’s eyes widened in surprise, and she turned towards the entrance as well and watched in surprise as two people entered the establishment. Both of them were dressed like mercenaries with combat gear and weapons on full display, and they both looked around for a few seconds before their eyes landed on Jason and Stella on the far edge of the bar. Once the newcomers saw that Jason and Stella were there, they moved to another part of the bar and sat down. Stella was confused about what was going on, and she asked Jason who those people were, and Jason began to explain it.
It had all begun back when Stella and Valeria were waiting for Jason in the first domain. The woman, Malovena, who had been trying to recruit Valeria into her mercenary group, looked like someone who would be a problem, so Jason had placed a few subordinates in her shadow to keep an eye on her movements. And just like Jason had predicted, the moment they left the first domain, Malovena and her men followed behind them and began to track them.
These two men had followed behind them closely, and Malovena had followed from a distance using another route so she wouldn’t draw attention to herself. The men had been in the fairy pathway, and they’d also been in the train, and although Jason had been keeping an eye on them, he never said anything because this was exactly what he wanted.
Stella felt anger bubbling from deep inside her when she heard what Jason had to say! So these men were basically here to get revenge for Valeria refusing Malovena’s offer? Well, if they want revenge, then Stella would happily indulge them! Stella’s hand was already vanishing into a spatial space to pull out her sword, but Jason stopped her and told her to relax.
"I told you I have a plan. Don’t do anything until I tell you to. These two are only the trackers. They don’t have anything that we’ll need. We need to wait."
Stella immediately followed Jason’s order, and she put the sword back into the spatial space. Stella leaned forward and asked Jason what they were waiting for. Jason glanced towards the entrance of the bar again, and he spoke up in slight amusement.
"Well, Valeria told us that we need to find a means of transport, didn’t she? It turns out that the mercenary group Malovena leads just so happens to be rather big in these parts, and that means they have their very own Hyperdrive Ship."
....
[The Docking Station]
Outside the Mercenary Bar, in the massive docking station for this sector of the Pit, a large aerodynamic ship slowly glided into one of the empty sectors for parking. The docking station was enormous, and there were loud voices echoing from all directions as people either came or went while transporting goods from one part of the Hyperspace to another.
The ships here had all been built to withstand the intense conditions of the Hyperspace. They were metallic with large thrusters behind them and strong wings! They all had weapon systems hidden within the structure that would allow them to defend against other hyperdrive ships, and there was more than enough space inside for ten or more people to live within the ship for multiple months at a time!
The ship that had just arrived was a massive dull grey ship with a body forged from strong Tritina Metal that could withstand the explosion of nuclear bombs! There was an image of a red skull with two swords stabbed into its eyes to form an ’X’ pattern printed on the side of the ship, and many of the people walking around the docking station all stopped and stared in awe once they saw the ship!
"Isn’t that Malovena’s crew? The Red Skin Mercenaries"
"Yeah, that’s them!"
"What in the world are they doing here? I thought they left for a mission in the second domain."
"That ship looks so cool! Look at those thrusters! They’re ultrabeam repulsors! You can’t even find them on the black market anymore."
"I hear their weapon system is an auto-lock targeter. If you get into an air fight against that thing, you’ll be dead before you even know it. Even the Death Scavenger ship couldn’t keep up with it!"
The people walking around all gawked in awe as they admired the beautiful vessel, but the moment the cockpit opened to reveal the imposing figure of Malovena and her mercenary crew, all the spectators immediately scattered like rats! Although the ship was beautiful, everyone knew that the captain of the ship was not someone they wanted to run into at all! Malovena had a scowl on her face as she looked around, and she began heading down the ramp with a vengeful aura around her body!
In truth, Malovena was not meant to be here at all. Malovena had a mission that she was meant to be completing right now in the First Domain, and that was what Malovena had been on her way to finish before she ran into Valeria in that massive tavern. But after being embarrassed during her encounter with that hooded man, Malovena had changed course to repay her debt in blood! Malovena couldn’t just allow him to get away with disrespecting her like that! Malovena was a woman who was known to always pay people back for whatever they did to her, and she would make that foolish man understand that no one gets in between her and her targets!
