Jason and Agiel share an intimate moment in the forest, culminating in passionate lovemaking. Meanwhile, Sicario contacts a shadowy figure from the Council of Nine and One, confirming Jason's success against the Celestial of Death. Despite the unexpected turn of events, Sicario assures his contact that their plan will proceed as intended.

Once the call was finished, Sicario turned to see Enkidu floating out from a Dimensional Tear behind him. Enkidu spoke up once she saw that Sicario was done with his meeting.

"I just sent a message to Ulysses. The bitch – I mean, the fucking bitch was wasting time trying to conquer another world in the first domain for her amusement. I told her to come down here so we can begin preparing for the next phase."

Sicario couldn’t help but smile slightly when he heard the irritation in Enkidu’s voice when she spoke about Ulysses. Even after all this time, it was obvious that Enkidu and Ulysses were never going to see eye to eye. But as long as they were working well together and they followed his orders, Sicario didn’t care if they got along.

"Let me know when she arrives so we can get moving. For now, try to get some rest. We’ll be busy for a long time, and we won’t be slowing down until all our plans are in motion."

Sicario began to walk out of the room, and Enkidu floated after him while asking.

"Since we’re going to be resting, why don’t we do it together? Let me sleep in your room tonight."

"No."

Sicario’s answer was immediate, and Enkidu pouted cutely and kicked her legs dramatically while floating around Sicario!

"Come on~ Why not~? We used to sleep together all the time back then."

Since Sicario had taken care of Enkidu when she was just a little girl, there were many times when Enkidu wouldn’t be able to sleep, and Sicario would allow her to crawl into his bed and sleep with him. It had been cute back then, but as Enkidu grew up, she had become more and more aggressive with her obvious interest in Sicario, and every time Sicario allowed Enkidu to stay in bed with him, Enkidu would immediately try to get into his pants! Sicario realised very quickly that he couldn’t sleep with this girl anymore, and he began to forbid her from coming into his room!

Sicario answered with a no-nonsense tone.

"I only slept with you cause you used to be a cute little kid. But you’re not a kid anymore, and I don’t trust you not to touch me in my sleep. Go to your own room."

Enkidu deflated sadly.

"Awwn~"

[The Ninth Domain]

[An Unknown Location]

A cloud of black death travelled across an uninhabited world and moved in constant circles as it waited for something to happen. It had been a few days since the Celestial of Death left the world of Voltax, but inside this cloud, it had only been a few hours since the Celestial of Death returned to this faraway world on the edge of the Primordial Expanse. The Celestial of Death was conflicted, and at this moment it was having an internal debate about what it should do next. On one hand, the Celestial of Death wanted to trust Jason and Agiel about what they had told it.

Maybe he really was a bastion of destruction, and it was best for him to stay here and avoid going out to the other worlds, but on the other hand, there was a chance that Jason had lied to him! What if Jason had simply told him to come here because Jason wanted to get rid of him? What if they lied about what was happening in the world and about what happened to his home world? Would the Celestial of Death be happy with some third-party information? The Celestial wanted to see with his own eyes whether or not his world had been destroyed!

This internal dilemma was currently playing in the Celestial’s head, and the Celestial was literally just a few hours away from leaving this world and returning to his journey across the Primordial Expanse. But before he could make up his mind, he felt someone else entering the cloud.

Two people began to move across the Celestial Cloud, and they headed towards the center without issue! The Celestial of Death immediately ordered all his defences to lower their guard and allow the visitors to pass through. The Celestial knew that there were only two people who could move through his cloud so freely, and there was a bit of dread going through the Celestial’s body as he realised that Jason and Agiel had already come back!

This time, neither Jason nor Agiel were attacked by the large mouths that had almost killed them the last time, and instead, there were multiple pathways that opened up for them and gave them a direct path straight into the heart of the Celestial of Death, where the little boy was waiting for them.

Jason and Agiel emerged from the cloud and into the large dark garden, and they saw that the boy was already standing in the middle of the garden with an anxious expression on his face. The Celestial tendrils that flowed out from the boy’s hair and back wriggled in anticipation, and the boy looked at Jason with the gaze of someone who was prepared to hear the worst news of his life.

Agiel squeezed Jason’s hand lightly, and Jason moved forward and reached into his coat before bringing out the dim golden ring that his subordinate had gotten from Riara.

"Is this what you needed?"

Jason asked this curiously, and the Celestial of Death simply stared at the ring with a faraway look in his eyes. The last time the Celestial saw this ring, it had been bright enough to light up an entire room. There were so many members of his family alive back then that he couldn’t count all of them in one day! But now, there was nothing at all. The ring was so dim that it felt like it would go out with the slightest breeze.

The Celestial took the ring from Jason’s hand, and for the first time in a very long time, he felt an intense surge of grief pass through his body as he mourned the family he had lost! What was the point of everything he had done all this time? The journey he had made and the battles he fought against powerful mages just to try and reach the first domain? Was it all really pointless?

’Did I really kill my own family?’

The Celestial of Death stared at the ground with absolute despair on his face, and both Jason and Agiel took some steps back as they felt the pressure around the Celestial’s body growing stronger. Jason had a feeling that something was going to happen to them if they stayed too close, and for a moment, Jason was ready to turn around and take Agiel out of there immediately. But before things could get out of hand, the pressure in the region suddenly began to drop once again, and the Celestial of Death finally set his feet on the ground for the first time and went to his knees as he said:

"I suppose you were right after all. My family is dead."

There was a tone of final acceptance in the Celestial’s voice, like the very last bit of hope he had been holding onto all this time had finally been taken away from him. And when the Celestial looked up, Jason felt a surge of pity go through him as he saw the young face staring back at him.
