Strongest Necromancer System Chapter 1083: A Celestial Gamble

Even if C’thlyanu himself decided to go and confront death, the clash of their Celestial Mana would destroy millions of worlds without any effort and cause more damage than anyone could imagine! And at the end of that battle, C’thlyanu would only be holding the Celestial back for a short while, since neither of the Celestials could kill the other! Jason’s plan was literally the best chance that they had right now, and C’thlyanu would bet everything he had on the hope that Jason could succeed!

Once C’thlyanu gave his word to Jason, all the other members who had been holding back realised that they didn’t have any choice either in this matter and they raised their hands and finally swore their support for Jason’s expedition. Once Jason had the support of these people, he nodded and spoke.

"Thank you for giving me your support. I’ll be heading towards the ninth domain within the next day, but you should continue your evacuation efforts until you receive news of what happened."

"If you are leaving so soon, shouldn’t you at least leave the important resources in your possession with someone else?"

Val’kat the goblin spoke up from the side while giving Jason a hard look. Although Val’kat had given Jason his support, Val’kat didn’t really care if Jason lived or died! The only thing Val’kat cared about was making sure he did not lose the important Aqualith stone that was in Jason’s possession! If Jason went to face the Celestial of Death and ended up getting killed, then Val’kat wanted to make sure he could still benefit from the stone!

Jason understood exactly what Val’kat was trying to say, and Jason felt annoyance rising from inside him when he saw the greedy expression on Val’kat’s face. But Jason just shook his head and got rid of the annoyance! This was just the way Val’kat was, so there was no point in getting angry about it! Jason spoke up in a calm voice:

"The Aqualith stone is in the possession of Earth. If anything happens to me, I already set up a system that can handle all the processing, so you don’t need to worry too much about my well-being."

Jason said that last part sarcastically, and Val’kat simply scoffed while turning away. Jason honestly didn’t care about Val’kat’s intentions since Jason knew that this was just Val’kat’s nature! Val’kat valued material things over the lives of those around him, so he would never accept Jason dying if it meant that the Aqualith would also be lost! Besides, it wasn’t as if Jason cared about Val’kat either, so it didn’t matter!

C’thlyanu finally spoke up once he saw that the entire council was in agreement.

"Very well then, it is decided. Jason will head towards the ninth domain with the princess of Jadar, and together they will attempt to put an end to the disaster. I personally do not know how feasible this plan is. I was part of the group that participated in the Celestial Hunt millennia ago, and the death toll then was far greater than what anyone could imagine. I cannot bear to see such a disaster occur again, so in preparation for the worst possible outcome, the rest of the council members are encouraged to continue their evacuation efforts."

This basically translated to: Let’s keep doing what we were doing in case Jason dies.

Everyone in the room knew that this was what C’thlyanu was trying to say, and even though he tried to make it sound as moral as possible, they all understood that C’thlyanu did not know if this would work or not either. Hesabeth frowned in annoyance when she noticed the lack of confidence in Jason’s plans, but Jason just huffed in amusement, and he sent one last nod to the council and winked at Hesabeth before his hologram vanished.

Once Jason left, all the other members of the council began to vanish one after the other, and before long C’thlyanu was the only one left behind. C’thlyanu let out a long, suffering sigh once he was sure there was no one left, and C’thlyanu began to wonder what exactly this incident could mean for all of them. As a celestial himself, C’thlyanu knew just how difficult it was to face any creature in the Celestial Rank. It was practically impossible to stand up to a Celestial that actually wanted to kill you.

But if Jason had actually found a way to withstand the power of a Celestial, C’thlyanu knew that the rest of the Celestials would not be happy about it! There was even a chance that some Celestials might try to kill Jason to make sure he couldn’t use this power against them! This could cause far more problems in the future if it wasn’t handled properly, but before anything else, they would first have to see if Jason’s gamble works or not.

[An Unknown Location]

After the meeting between the Overlords, two figures were having a conversation through a magical communication orb. One of the figures sat in a dark and isolated room, and the figure on the other end of the communication device was in an empty office, so only the two of them could see or hear what they were talking about.

"Do you think Overlord Jason was serious? Did he really find a way to stop Death?"

"I don’t know if he was. But if it is true, then we must do something about it. We can’t let this affect our plans."

One of the figures frowned in annoyance.

"I should’ve tried harder to stop him. I hoped we would have more people on our side, but Jason had too many allies. What if this turns out to be real? Would it be reasonable to leave so much power in the hands of someone like Jason? Having it on our side would make our mission far easier."

"The power to erase death. That isn’t something anyone should possess. Especially if it can also work on other celestials."

The two figures seemed to have come to this same realisation at that moment. Jason’s power was something no one expected, and even though they still didn’t know if it would work or not, Jason seemed confident enough in it to risk his own life trying to prove that it could work! If Jason actually managed to pull this off, it would only give them more reason to be wary of him!

The figure in the dark room spoke up.

"For now, I suggest we simply watch and see what he does. If Jason really found a way to bypass death, then we’ll need to do something about him."

The figure in the office frowned before asking:

"Will Sicario allow us to do anything about it? From what I’ve heard, Sicario’s protecting Jason from anyone trying to hurt him."

"Do you know why?"

"No, none of us do. But I think it has something to do with a deal Sicario made with someone. Sicario just doesn’t want anyone touching Jason."

"Then we’ll have to talk to him about it. For now, let us simply observe."

The two figures came to an agreement on that point, and the call ended.

[A Few Hours Before Departure]

After the meeting between the members of the council, Jason and Agiel were given time to rest and freshen up before they had to head off towards the ninth domain. Since there was no physical force that would work against the Celestial of Death, there was no need for Farlow to organize any armies, and the only thing he could do was to make sure Jason and Agiel were in the right state of mind so they wouldn’t get overwhelmed when they came face to face with death.
