Strongest Necromancer System Chapter 1082: Is This Really Necessary?

Just the thought of Jason dying was enough to make Gina feel sick! Jason spoke up:

’I know it’ll work because I understand death. This celestial might be strong, but I’ve met death enough times to understand it very well. I know I can withstand its abilities.’

Gina put her hands over her stomach as she heard all of this from Jason! Gina was obviously still not in support of this at all! There were a lot of things Gina wanted to talk to Jason about! How did Jason even hear about this prophecy in the first place? How did Jason know that he could form a Soul Bond with Agiel? It seemed like everything that had happened over the past twenty-four hours just came completely out of nowhere, and Gina would need some time to wrap her head around all of it! But Gina just couldn’t get behind Jason walking into the hands of the Celestial of Death like this!

Jason sensed Gina’s worry through their mental link, and Jason spoke in a serious voice.

’Gina... I need you to trust me. Have I ever let you down before?’

Gina couldn’t help but sigh tiredly when she heard this! Of course Jason had never let her down, but that wasn’t really going to make this any easier for her! Even if Jason showed her all the proof in the world to say that he could survive this, Gina would still feel worried because she loved Jason! But eventually, Gina decided that she had to simply trust that things would be fine, and Gina let out a sigh. Jason saw Hesabeth look behind her in shock and say something to Gina! Gina responded in a way that must’ve surprised Hesabeth, and in the next moment, Gina spoke to Jason through their mental link:

’Alright, babe. It’s okay. I believe in you.’

That was all Jason needed to hear. Jason smiled, and he finally looked around at the other members of the council who were still arguing all around him.

"Alright, that’s enough."

The hall went silent again as Jason spoke up, and Jason leaned forward as he regarded all the Overlords.

"I know each of you has your own reason for wanting me to do this or not, but at the end of the day, we have no other choice but for me to face the Celestial of Death. Every moment we waste in here is millions of lives lost out there. You must make a choice now."

Jason looked over the gathered Overlords with a critical gaze, and his eyes landed on Hesabeth! Hesabeth was still frowning in annoyance, but when she saw the quiet confidence on Jason’s face, Hesabeth immediately understood that there was no way to convince Jason not to do this. Hesabeth let out a quiet sigh, and then she folded her fan and spoke in a calm voice.

"I render my support for the expedition. You can count on the seventh domain. And when you succeed, I will ensure your domain is properly compensated for the services rendered."

Nearly everyone in the room was stunned by this! All the Overlords knew that Jason and Hesabeth were in a relationship, and so they thought that Hesabeth would be the last person to send her own lover to go and fight against the Celestial of Death like this! But Hesabeth wasn’t paying any attention to the people there. Instead, she was looking straight at Jason with a heavy gaze that showed she was still not happy about this, but she was simply putting up with it because of Jason! When Hesabeth pledged her support to Jason just now, she had said ’when you succeed’ not ’if you succeed’. This meant that Hesabeth wasn’t even considering the possibility of Jason failing! By saying it like this, Hesabeth was basically telling Jason that failure in this scenario was not an option! Jason smiled when he saw Hesabeth’s hard frown, and he nodded back to her in understanding.

"The Eighth Domain renders its support as well. You will receive whatever you desire from us."

This time, it was Lamina who spoke up. Although Lamina was no longer on Nyx, she was still able to join the meeting using the communication orb, and she gave Jason a respectful nod when he turned towards her.

Once Lamina gave her support, both Farlow and Kalum also gave their support. The two of them already discussed this with Jason earlier, so there was no need for them to say anything more!

Rak’hael frowned at Jason, and she said.

"And what of us who do not support this? What will happen if we simply decide not to swear a debt to you?"

"Then it will be a stain on your honor, and we will remember it for whenever next you come forward to ask this council for aid."

It was Baron Skarr who spoke up from the side, and he frowned at Rak’hael in annoyance! Baron Skarr stood and regarded the Overlords in the room who hadn’t sworn any support yet.

"You sit there and watch us pledge our support to the man willing to risk his life for our people, and you think you possess any honor by refusing to participate? What manner of cowards are you?"

"You will not brand me a coward unless you wish to test me axe!"

T’arigan stood up angrily and glared at Baron Skarr, but the Baron simply yelled back at T’arigan!

"Then prove yourself by your honor! Show that you are capable of recognizing a service done to you! This man is risking his life for you, and you dare to sit there and pretend like you benefit nothing from it!? Pathetic!"

Baron Skarr was seriously angry at the council members who had not pledged their support, and he was not afraid to show it! Skarr would not back down until they understood just how cowardly they were for sitting back and hiding behind those who had pledged their support already! The tension in the hall had already grown to an impossible level, and if the Overlords had been in the room at this moment, Jason was sure that they would’ve gotten into a fight already!

But before anyone could take things out of control, C’thlyanu finally spoke up.

"Let us try to converse as adults. We are all experiencing a great amount of stress, and we should not worsen our situation by fighting amongst ourselves. Jason, is it really necessary to take things this far?"

"Yes."

Jason’s answer was immediate, and it made Rak’hael frown in annoyance! Rak’hael already knew that Jason was a rogue who would always do what he wanted rather than listening to authority, but Rak’hael never thought that Jason would take it this far! C’thlyanu was silent for a few seconds before he finally said:

"Very well then. If you succeed in stopping the Celestial of Death before it causes any more damage, then the first domain will owe a debt to the Sixth Domain. You have my word."

This one declaration caused the biggest shock among all the seated members! As the elder of the council, C’thlyanu usually preferred to stay away from the spotlight and allow the other council members to make most of the decisions before he comes in to deliberate on the final choice made by the other council members! So the fact that C’thlyanu was also swearing a debt to Jason now meant that C’thlyanu understood just how serious this situation was!

C’thlyanu was one of the only council members who had played an active part in the Celestial Hunt millennia ago, and even though C’thlyanu was a Celestial, he did not have any confidence that he could stop the Celestial of Death himself before it caused significant damage to all the Domains!
