[The World of Minori]
[With Hesabeth and Gina]
It had been close to two weeks since Gina and Riyala came to visit Hesabeth in her world, and although the two of them had absolutely enjoyed their time here, they knew that it was time for them to leave and return to their world. Riyala had a lot of responsibilities that she left behind in Radagan to come for this vacation, and Gina had to go back and see the gynaecologist. Although humans were very similar to the people of Minori, there were still some differences between them, so Gina couldn’t see any of the doctors here to make sure the baby was growing fine.
Hesabeth had obviously been against them leaving. Hesabeth had grown very fond of both Gina and Riyala, and used every excuse to try and make them stay. Hesabeth spoke about how she would be lonely alone, and how they could bring most of their work to Minori if they needed to! Gina could even bring a doctor from Earth to Minori for the baby.
As someone who never had a proper family before, Hesabeth had bonded with her sister-wives in a way that she didn’t think was possible! The only people that Hesabeth had felt so close to in the past were the Vympir Queen Gillian and Jason. But Hesabeth loved Jason in a different way, so it felt like Gina and Riyala were true replacements that allowed her to get over her loss of Gillian.
But Hesabeth had to eventually come to terms with them leaving, and when Riyala finally left Minori a few days ago, Hesabeth prepared multiple carriages filled with gifts for her to take back with her. There were gold jewelry, food and fruits, clothes, and even a few artefacts that would help Riyala in their day-to-day life. Riyala had almost complained that it was far too much! Riyala was a priestess, so she didn’t have that many worldly possessions, and she was not allowed to wear any jewelry other than what the dragons or Jason gave her. All of the gifts were just going to end up being sold or handed out to others! But Gina stopped Riyala from complaining because Gina knew that Hesabeth would feel insulted by something like that. Riyala had to simply accept the gifts gratefully before leaving.
So now it was just Gina and Hesabeth, and after spending a few more days with Hesabeth, the day that Gina would leave also arrived. Gina and Hesabeth were together in the large throne room saying their goodbyes. Hesabeth hugged Gina with a longing expression on her face, and she made her promise to come visit again, and Gina told Hesabeth that she could come to Earth anytime she wanted. Gina thanked Hesabeth for taking care of them so well before she waved and released enough mana from her body to open a dimensional tear behind her, but Gina was surprised when she felt a resistance preventing her from opening the tear! Gina tried again, and she failed a second time, and the two women were even more surprised!
"Let me try."
Hesabeth spoke up before she tried as well, but she felt her eyes widen when it failed as well! This was the first time that Hesabeth wouldn’t be able to open a Dimensional Tear in her own world, and she couldn’t help but wonder what the hell was going on. Both women realised that something was very wrong, and Gina was about to ask Hesabeth if there was an anti-travel rune around her world when Ulyn suddenly flew out of Gina’s hair and spoke up in a worried voice.
"Gina, did you feel that!?"
Gina blinked and looked up at her spirit partner.
"Feel what?"
"There’s a disturbance in the natural order. An unnatural creature has been released."
Gina’s brow just furrowed as her confusion deepened, and Hesabeth spoke up.
"What is the little one saying?"
Hesabeth couldn’t understand Ulyn since only spirit users could understand spirits, but the expression on Ulyn and Gina’s faces told Hesabeth that Ulyn had to be speaking about what was happening with the dimensional tear. Gina passed on Ulyn’s message, and Hesabeth’s eyes narrowed immediately. A disturbance in the natural order? What in the world was going on out there?
Hesabeth knew that whatever happened must’ve only happened sometime in the previous two days. Riyala had just left Minori for Radagan two days ago, and they were able to open a dimensional tear just fine back then. What could’ve possibly blocked them from leaving this world in just two days?
’Does this have something to do with that feeling from back then?’
Hesabeth’s thoughts suddenly travelled back to the strange magical feeling that she had experienced in the middle of their vacation a few weeks ago. Back then, Hesabeth thought that there was nothing wrong, and she had ignored the feeling since it barely lasted for a few seconds. But now that this was happening, Hesabeth couldn’t help but feel like the world had been warning her about something all this time!
"My Queen! There’s an urgent call from the Council on the Crystal Ball!"
Hesabeth’s personal secretary, Favina, suddenly ran into the throne room with a panicked expression on her face, and Hesabeth turned to her and asked her which member of the council was calling!
"It’s C’thlyanu! He says it’s a message for all members of the council! It’s very important!"
Hesabeth had a feeling that whatever that message was also had something to do with this strange travel block, so she told Gina to come with her as they made their way to the message room. In here, the Crystal Ball sat on a decorative table in the middle of the room, and an image of a shapeless purple mist was already showing on the ball as Hesabeth arrived.
Hesabeth moved forward and spoke to C’thlyanu in a prideful tone.
"Do you know the reason behind the recent irregularities?"
C’thlyanu seemed to nod, but in his mist form, the women couldn’t really tell.
"There’s a serious issue, Hesabeth. Something has been awakened at the edge of the Primordial Expanse, and it is rapidly carving its way across multiple worlds in the Ninth Domain. The death count has risen to nearly a hundred billion, and it will not be long before it is upon your domain."
Hesabeth’s eyes actually widened in shock, and Gina was equally as shocked! Gina quickly stepped forward and spoke with a panicked expression on her face.
"The Sixth Domain! What about the Sixth Domain? Will it also pass through there?"
Gina couldn’t even imagine the sheer amount of damage that had been done to the Primordial Expanse, but once C’thlyanu said that close to a hundred billion had died, Gina knew that this was not something that they could ignore! If a disaster like this passes through the Sixth Domain, then every single person Gina knew could die!
C’thlyanu’s answer caused a dreadful terror to rise from deep inside Gina’s heart.
"Yes, it will. We have calculated a straight path through the Ninth, Eighth, Seventh, Sixth, Fifth, and Second Domains. If we do not do something about it soon, then there is a chance we will lose more than twenty percent of the population in the Primordial Expanse."
This only made the girls feel even more shocked! What sort of disaster could possibly cause so much damage to the Primordial Expanse? It had to be something unfathomably strong!
Hesabeth spoke up again with a frown:
"We have found we are incapable of leaving this world, C’thlyanu. Do you happen to know why?"
C’thlyanu was actually surprised to hear that from Hesabeth, and he was silent for a few seconds as he tried to understand it. But then, he looked back at Hesabeth and gave a simple answer.
"I think it is because of you."
