Strongest Necromancer System Chapter 1046: Preparing For Death

’Jason.’
Jason suddenly blinked as he received a message telepathically, and Jason was surprised when he recognized the voice as C’thlyanu. Jason’s subordinate had just given C’thlyanu the message at the Hall of Fallen Heroes a few minutes ago, but Jason thought it would take a little longer to get a response back from the Celestial. Jason stood up from the table and moved away while telling Stella and Valeria to start eating without him.
’Did you get my message about the Fallen Celestial?’
Jason asked this to C’thlyanu, and C’thlyanu responded that he received the message. C’thlyanu then told Jason that it might already be too late. Jason frowned curiously and asked C’thlyanu what he meant, and C’thlyanu said one sentence that sent a chill down Jason’s spine!
’The Celestial of Death has been awakened.’
"...Fuck."
Jason put a hand on his forehead and spat out a curse once he heard this, and both Valeria and Stella looked towards him curiously! But Jason ignored them as he focused on his conversation with C’thlyanu! Out of all the Celestials that could’ve been released, Jason had really been hoping that it wouldn’t be this one! At least the other Celestials were creatures that could be attacked with force or magic! Death was simply Death! There was no way to get close to this creature, and no amount of physical confrontation would hurt it! The second you get close to death, you already lost!
A part of Jason hoped that C’thlyanu was mistaken about this, but Jason knew that this wasn’t a mistake at all. Jason hadn’t been able to figure out which of the celestials would be coming since he didn’t have the ability to sense Celestial mana, but C’thlyanu was also a celestial, so he was capable of feeling the Celestial mana in the air, and he immediately knew that it was the Celestial of Death that had been released!
Jason turned back to the conversation, and he asked C’thlyanu whether the Celestial was already on the move. C’thlyanu said the Celestial was already moving through the Ninth Domain, and it had crossed close to fifty worlds since its release! It would only take one day for it to cross into the Eighth Domain, and before the end of the week, it would be crossing the Sixth Domain.
Jason’s eyes narrowed once he heard that Death would be crossing the Sixth Domain as well, and Jason immediately asked C’thlyanu what they were planning to do about this. They couldn’t let all those worlds be destroyed.
’I learned that you were a part of the Hunters who sealed Death a few millennia ago. Is that true?’
Jason asked this seriously, and C’thlyanu said that it was true.
’Myself, your father, and a few other powerful mages all worked together to take down Death, but the only way we could imprison it was by tricking it into moving towards the edge of the Primordial Expanse and sealing it within a Runic Sequence. Death already knows about that method, so it’s unlikely that it will fall for it again. We have to find another way.’
’For fuck’s sake, we need to figure this out! Telling me that there’s no way to seal this monster isn’t really going to help us at all.’
Jason’s face squeezed into an annoyed frown once he heard C’thlyanu’s response, and Jason couldn’t stop himself from lashing out in annoyance, but Jason let out a calming sigh, and he apologised. Getting angry right now wasn’t going to solve anything.
But C’thlyanu wasn’t angry at all at Jason’s rudeness.
’It’s quite alright, Jason. I can understand your anger. Unlike you mortals, I do not have to worry about getting killed since I am a Celestial. I wish I could use my powers to help, but I fear that the outpouring of mana from two powerful Celestials will only cause more harm to the Primordial Expanse. In our battle, we might end up killing far more people than Death would in his rampage.’
Jason let out a harsh breath as he turned to glare at the distant sky through the room window! Jason wondered what the hell his brother was fucking doing! What could Gregory possibly hope to achieve by releasing something so disastrous on the Primordial Expanse!? What sort of plan could the King’s Guard have that would involve the death of trillions of innocent people!? But Jason just shook his head after a few seconds! The person responsible for this and the reason behind it didn’t matter right now. Instead, what was important was what they were going to do!
Jason immediately spoke up in a serious tone.
’We need to evacuate the worlds in Death’s path.’
C’thlyanu hummed in agreement.
’Yes, I had the exact same thought. I plan to send messages out to all the Overlords of the affected domains soon, but since you already had knowledge of what was happening, I felt it was important to contact you first. You must collaborate with your Elder Worlds and focus on removing all important races from the Eastern and Northern Pathways of your domain. Now, I do not wish to be the one to impose this, but I hope you understand that some worlds are more important than others. It is necessary to prioritize the worlds that serve a higher value and will ensure that we can rebuild what has been lost as quickly as possible.’
Jason let out a calm breath once he heard this, and he simply hummed in response. Jason knew that it was cruel to leave the lower value worlds behind like this, but Jason also understood where C’thlyanu was coming from. Death did not discriminate in who it killed, and it was going to eradicate every single person it crossed over; that meant it was up to Jason and the other Overlords to determine which worlds were important enough to be evacuated first.
Jason wanted to save everyone, but even if he used all his subordinates over the next few days, he couldn’t clear out the hundreds of worlds filled with hundreds of billions of people that would be affected! Jason just had to do his best to save as many people as possible!
Jason knew that this was a good plan, but at the end of the day, it was just a preventive measure since the Celestial of Death would still be free to roam across the world. Even if they evacuated people from multiple worlds, what was stopping the Celestial of Death from simply turning around later and crossing over those worlds as well? They needed to come up with a way to send the Celestial of Death back into its eternal prison!
’Or even kill it.’
Jason frowned as he wondered if that was possible, and C’thlyanu immediately told Jason that it was not! The life of a Celestial was not as easily extinguished as the lives of mortals or Primordials. With Mortals and Primordials, killing them was usually a straightforward matter, and their souls would simply be taken by the Grim Reaper afterwards, but Celestials were far more difficult to kill. Before you could ’kill’ a Celestial, you would first need to gather the Celestial’s Shattered Aspects together and then break their Celestial Oath.
Jason frowned in confusion when he heard all this! What the hell was C’thlyanu even talking about? Shattered Aspect? Celestial Oath? Jason had never even heard about these things before! Jason immediately turned to the system and asked it for an explanation, and the system brought up a tab in response!
