Jason dismisses his lingering connection to Agiel as he focuses on his current path. Meanwhile, the Council of Elders convenes to discuss Jason's arrival and his request for an awakening. Ronan introduces Jason, revealing his impressive titles and true power, which surprises the elders. The head elder questions Jason's need for an awakening given his existing strength, but Jason insists on his desire to grow stronger.

Jason let out a calm breath to relax, and then he gave a simple answer to the elder.

"I wish to get stronger."

The elder shook his head.

"It is obvious that you want to get stronger. You wouldn’t be here otherwise. What I truly wish to know is why. What motivates you to seek out so much strength?"

The elder wasn’t going to back down unless Jason gave him a proper answer, and Jason just decided to tell the truth!

"I need to get stronger because I believe there’s a war coming. The Primordials aren’t finished with us yet, and they will be here very soon. I refuse to allow my world and my people to die at the hands of those bastards, so I need to gain more power. Enough power to challenge the Primordials. Enough power to go even further beyond. That is why I am here. Do you have any more questions?"

Jason looked around the room, and all he could see were shocked faces! This was the first time that any of the people in the room would be hearing that there was another war coming! All the elders sitting here had fought against a Primordial once or twice before in the previous war, so they knew better than anyone just how dangerous those beasts can be!

"Is there really a war coming?"

This time it was the thin elder who spoke up. He had a look of disbelief on his face, and Jason nodded to him once.

"Yes, there is. I don’t know when or where it will begin, and I don’t want to put the Primordial Expanse into a panic by revealing this information too early. But it’ll be here sooner than we think, and we need to prepare for it."

Many of the elders let out long sighs as they heard this! The concept of war was something that they had gotten used to already, but no one could ever completely get used to the death and destruction that war always brought! The elders were tired of the constant wars!

The elder sitting in the middle finally spoke up.

"Very well then. We will grant you the right of awakening, but in exchange, you must swear that you will alert us to the war as it progresses. We must prepare, and we will need as much information as possible for that."

Jason nodded his head once to tell him that it was a deal, and the elder stood with a smile and put his hands behind him!

"Very well then. You must give us a day to prepare everything for your awakening. I shall oversee it myself, and in the meantime, you must meditate and enter into the right state of mind to face the challenge that awaits you! I wish you the very best of luck!"

Ronan came forward again, and he bowed to the elders before gesturing for Jason and Stella to come with him. Jason and Stella followed Ronan out of the hall, and the massive stone door was closed before Ronan spoke.

"We have prepared lodgings for you until the awakening ceremony is ready tomorrow. There are many facilities in the lodge, so we advise you to take advantage of them and meditate as much as possible. In the meantime, we will need to borrow your servant."

Jason raised a brow, and Stella frowned when she heard this. Stella was about to ask what they needed her for, but Ronan raised his hands to tell them that this was necessary!

"It is mandatory that someone close to the awakener is involved in the ceremony as well. It allows the awakener to have a deeper connection to the process. She will return to you before nightfall. We simply wish to let her know what her role will be."

Stella was still obviously against it, and she was about to say just that, but Jason just told her to go. Since it would help make the awakening process easier, it was better for her to just do as they said! Stella hesitated for a long moment as she looked towards Ronan suspiciously before she finally nodded to Jason and said that she understood.

"I shall be with you before nightfall, master."

Jason nodded and said that it was alright, and he took off with Daris to get to his lodging. Jason wasn’t really worried about Stella since he knew that she was powerful enough to protect herself in case anything happened. And even if she wasn’t, Jason had a few subordinates following her through the shadows, so he could always come and help her if she got into a serious situation!

The lodging that Jason and Daris arrived at looked like something straight out of a murim novel! It was a pagoda building in the middle of a beautiful lake. There was a bridge connecting the building to the mainland, and Jason saw aristocratic-looking nobles moving over the bridge while talking in quiet voices.

"We land here. Flight isn’t allowed around the lodging."

Daris spoke up as she descended on the bridge, and Jason followed her lead and landed as well! Jason looked around as they walked up to the main building, and he couldn’t help but appreciate the natural beauty all around him! The lake was clear and serene, and there were multiple species of fish swimming through it peacefully. There were lily pads on the lake with flowers growing over them, and Jason even saw a few people standing on the edge of the bridge and throwing small feed towards the fish.

Jason took in a deep breath and let it out in a calm sigh as he followed after Daris, and they finally made their way into the lodging. The lodging itself looked like it had been made for royalty. The floors were polished mahogany, and there were statues and flowers lining the walls at regular intervals, with a large fountain in the middle of the massive reception floor.

A woman was already waiting for Jason and Daris at the entrance, and she bowed to Jason.

"Welcome to the Blue Lake Inn. It’s our great honor to host you today. Please follow me."

The woman gestured for Jason to come along, and Jason noticed that Daris wasn’t coming with him.

"This is where I leave. As a student of one of our great elders, we are obligated to host you, so you may use any facility in the inn without restraint. I will return to retrieve you once the preparations for the ceremony are complete."

Jason nodded, and he thanked Daris for her help, and Daris bowed before she watched as Jason left for his room.

[An Unknown Location]

[Edge of the Primordial Expanse]

The Primordial Expanse was a massive collection of worlds that made up a significant portion of reality. But although the Primordial Expanse was occupied by millions of worlds, there were still locations within the Primordial Expanse that no mortal person had ever explored before for various reasons.

Maybe these places had been locked away by higher beings, or maybe the mana in that region was just so immense that no one could ever hope to survive in there! There were many reasons for people to not visit certain areas in the Primordial Expanse! But one of the most common reasons why certain regions of the Primordial Expanse were simply inhospitable was because they had been claimed by a Fallen Celestial.

The Fallen Celestials were special beings that most people could not even begin to understand. These Fallen Celestials are entities that possess both the power and authority necessary to allow them to migrate towards the Celestial plane. But for one reason or another, these Fallen Celestials have refused to leave the mortal plane, and they remain in this plane and cause significant damage to the world around them as a result of their presence!
