Strongest Necromancer System Chapter 1016: Getting Ready

Jason and Stella followed behind Daris as they made their way down towards the city. They flew over a few large buildings, and Jason noticed some of the cultivators around them were giving them curious looks as they flew past, but no one bothered them since they all recognized Daris.

The trio landed in the middle of a wide street with cultivators walking past them on both sides. There were street stalls selling swords and other weapons, and other stalls selling food or snacks! People all around the street turned to glance at Jason and Stella curiously when they saw the way they were dressed, and Jason noticed that everyone here was either dressed in a white robe or in regular commoner attire.

’The people in white robes are the only ones holding weapons. They’re all cultivators.’

Jason looked around calculatively as he checked to see just how strong the average cultivator on this world was, and from what Jason could feel, the average cultivator here was an Awakened. Jason remembered that the cultivator rankings went from Awakened Disciple -> Awakened -> Master -> Transcendent -> Genesis -> Apotheosis.

Jason himself had a rank that was only slightly higher than what the other cultivators had.

But Jason knew that he would gain a massive boost in his stats once he acquired his Cultivation Technique and completed the Awakening Ceremony to get a Qi Element!

"Come this way."

Daris began to walk down the street, and Jason and Stella followed behind her as they made their way towards the upper districts. Up here, the buildings were far larger, and the people walking on the streets looked like aristocrats. People were still staring at Jason and Stella, but this time, they did it in a more snobbish manner, almost like these people were looking down on Jason and Stella for what they were wearing!

The duo was led by Daris towards a large building with the words ’SOUTH INN’ written above it, and they entered the building. The main lobby only had a few people loitering around as they either ate a meal or spoke in hushed voices! There was a traditionally dressed receptionist sitting behind a desk at the other end of the room, and Daris walked up to her and spoke.

"We would like to rent out the bath, please, and order two robes for our guests."

The receptionist bowed before she turned to look at Jason and Stella and asked:

"Are you two married? If so, then we can have you in the same bath."

Stella’s face turned red when she heard that question, and Jason just raised his hand and said that they weren’t married, so separate baths would be fine. The receptionist bowed again before she left to do as she was told. Daris then turned and spoke to them.

"You two can head towards the baths. I’ll be waiting out here for when you finish. If you want, we can have a meal before the meeting with the elders."

Jason nodded to thank Daris for her effort, and then he began walking down the hall with Stella following behind him. The receptionist led them to two side-by-side doors with curtains over them, and she gestured for Jason to enter the blue curtain and for Stella to enter the red curtain.

"Your robes are already prepared inside. You can change before coming out."

The receptionist bowed to them, and Jason thanked her before telling Stella that he would see her soon! Stella still had a small blush on her face from when the receptionist said she was married to Jason, but she managed to respond respectfully, and she nodded to tell Jason that she understood!

Jason entered the room, and he saw that it was an open-air bath with steam rising from the water in the large tub. A loud sigh echoed from beyond the wall, and Jason smiled when he realised that the voice belonged to Stella. She hadn’t even wasted a second before getting in! Jason took off his clothes and got into the bath for a few minutes as he scrubbed off all the dirt on his body, and he skillfully ignored the sounds that he heard from the other side as Stella scrubbed herself down.

Once Jason was done, he grabbed his robes and put them on in front of the full-body-length mirror in the room, and once he tied the white sash around his waist, he looked himself over appreciatively! Jason looked like one of those young masters you would normally see in murim novels, and just the thought of that made Jason chuckle calmly.

’Now you look like someone who can truly call themselves my student!’

Esdath spoke up from inside Jason’s Alternate Dimension again, and Jason huffed as he began walking out of the bath! Once Jason got out, he noticed that Stella had also finished her bath, and she was waiting for him! Stella quickly stood up once she saw him, and Jason studied her new appearance. Stella was wearing the same white robe with a white sash that he had, but it was obvious that this one had been made specifically for women since it hugged her body more than his own.

Stella had tied her hair up into a high ponytail, and the sword on her hip completed the appearance and made her seem like a soldier from an old murim novel! Stella shuffled slightly when she noticed how Jason was studying her closely, and somewhere in the back of her mind she hoped that she looked nice enough for Jason to appreciate it.

"You look good, Stella."

Jason suddenly said this, and Stella felt her entire head grow hot as her heart rate exploded! Stella looked away while trying to cover her lower face with her hand, and she nodded.

"T-Thank you, master. You look very dashing as well."

Jason patted Stella on the head thankfully, and he began to walk out to the front to meet with Daris. Stella put her hand over her chest and took in a few deep breaths to try and calm herself, and it was only after she was sure that her blush had died that she finally jogged to catch up with Jason!

"Ngh!"

But all of a sudden, Stella noticed Jason putting a hand to his chest and bending over with a groan, and Stella’s eyes widened as she immediately ran forward!

"Master! Master, what’s wrong!?"

Stella looked Jason over with a worried expression on her face as she wondered what happened, but Jason raised his hand to tell her to calm down! Jason didn’t know why, but for some reason he suddenly felt an intense pain in his chest just now! Jason knew that it wasn’t a health issue; it was almost like his heart had skipped a number of beats or something!

Jason narrowed his eyes as the feeling vanished just as quickly as it came, and he tried to think about what had caused it in the first place! And Jason’s mind immediately travelled towards the only woman who causes him physical pain just from being around her!

’Agiel.’

Jason put a hand over his face, and he immediately used [Eye of the King] to try and find out if there was something wrong with Agiel, but all Jason saw was Agiel sitting on a pillow as a group of women walked around her with scented candles and precious artefacts that released a pleasant magic pulse.

’She’s preparing for the wedding.’

Jason didn’t know why a feeling of shock passed through his chest when he realised that Agiel was getting ready to be married soon.
