Damon awakens with a golden star in his eyes, instantly paralyzing and terrifying the Goddess. He bites her, draining not just blood or mana, but the very essence of her existence. His Devourer Bloodline consumes this energy, rapidly healing his ravaged body and rebuilding him from the foundation. A new, minuscule core forms within him as he absorbs all surrounding energies, a process La Rocha reveals is an evolution into Godhood.

"A... God?" The words echoed inside Damon's mind. He had been prepared to awaken another bloodline skill or talent. He had been prepared to mutate.

But a God? That possibility had never once crossed his mind.

"Master..." La Rocha sounded as though he were looking at something that shouldn't exist.

"You're absorbing her origin energy, something that should be impossible." He swallowed. His breathing became uneven. "How is this possible? You skipped everything… You skipped the Heavenly Tribulation… You skipped the Divine Ascension… You skipped millions of years of cultivation..." His voice gradually rose. "Master, you are devouring her Godhood."

Damon focussed inward toward the tiny grain-sized core forming deep within his body. This… is origin energy? Something that a God possesses?

He cautiously reached out with his consciousness, barely brushing against the tiny core.

The instant his senses touched it… Boom!

An incomparably vast torrent of power surged back through the connection. Damon immediately severed his consciousness. His entire body trembled violently. Cold sweat poured down his forehead.

"What the..."

His heart pounded wildly. He had only touched it for the briefest fraction of a second, yet he felt as though he had been staring into an endless universe compressed into something no larger than a grain of sand.

It wasn't that the power inside was violent. It was simply… Too much. Far too much. It was like asking an ordinary mortal to comprehend the entire cosmos in a single glance. His mind simply couldn't process it.

Damon instinctively understood. That tiny core wasn't dangerous because it was unstable. It was dangerous because he was too weak. Even as its owner, he wasn't yet qualified to wield it.

He slowly looked back at the trembling Goddess. Warm strands of Origin Energy continued flowing out of her body, steadily feeding the tiny core. With every strand absorbed, the core became denser. As though it had no limit to how much power it could contain.

La Rocha stared at Damon in stunned silence before muttering in disbelief, "Master… how are you still alive? A true Origin Core cannot be controlled by someone below the Divine Realm. It would instantly consume its owner."

La Rocha's gaze remained fixed on Damon. "But yours..." He let out a bitter laugh. "I've lived for longer than civilizations have existed and today, for the first time… I've witnessed the birth of a God."

Before Damon could respond, the Goddess in his grasp suddenly began to glow. At first, it was only a faint golden shimmer beneath her skin. Then, BOOM!

Six enormous golden wings erupted from her back. Divine radiance flooded the surroundings. An immense pressure descended upon Damon, so powerful that the space around the two of them immediately began to collapse.

Damon grunted. His newly restored bones creaked under the pressure. His knees nearly buckled. Even his grip around the Goddess loosened ever so slightly.

The woman's pale face gradually regained some color. Her eyes were still unfocused, but something was clearly changing. The divine power inside her was awakening.

"Master!" La Rocha's panicked voice immediately rang inside Damon's head. "She's breaking free!"

"No shit!" Damon growled. He tightened his grip and immediately focussed on pulling out her energy faster. He did not really have much control over this part. There was only so much he could do.

More golden Origin Energy poured out of the Goddess and rushed into Damon.

But this time, something was different. Her divine radiance resisted. The six wings behind her spread wider, and countless golden runes appeared across every feather. One by one, the invisible restraints suppressing her began to crack.

La Rocha's expression became ugly. "Master, your poison! It's no longer working!"

Damon's pupils contracted. That was when he finally understood. The Goddess had never simply stood there and allowed him to devour her. Something had suppressed her. Something from one of the countless poisons swirling within his blood and body. Something strong enough to momentarily paralyze even her divine soul.

He had personally never consumed any poison that strong. It had to be a part of the small vial he had consumed back in the snake god's temple.

Damon had heard about masters giving their disciples many treasures and life-saving items. He had never expected to receive one. He mentally thanked the Venom God for giving him this small window to turn the tables.

But now… That window was closing.

"Master, listen to me!" La Rocha had completely abandoned his usual mocking tone. "You had an advantage because you caught her completely off guard. She descended into this world suppressing most of her power, dismissed you as an insect, and then your poison struck before she understood what was happening."

Another golden wing blazed. CRACK! The invisible suppression around the Goddess shattered further.

"But she's adapting! She is a God! Do you seriously expect the same poison to keep suppressing her forever?"

The Goddess's fingers twitched. Her hand slowly began closing. The same hand that had remained completely limp in his grasp moments earlier was moving again.

La Rocha practically screamed inside his mind. "MASTER! If she wakes up completely, this fight is over! You stole her Origin because she couldn't defend herself! You haven't suddenly become stronger than her! You only possess the beginning of Godhood! She has possessed hers for countless years!"

The difference was enormous. Damon understood that better than anyone. Having a terrifying source of power meant absolutely nothing if he couldn't use it.

The tiny Origin Core inside him might contain unimaginable potential, but he couldn't even touch the damned thing without nearly destroying himself.

Meanwhile...

The Goddess knew exactly how to use hers.

Her eyelids trembled. The fear on her face was slowly disappearing. In its place… there was rage, humiliation, and killing intent.

Damon felt the hand he was holding tighten around his wrist. The Goddess's golden eyes began opening. "You…" Her voice was weak.

But the moment Damon heard it, every hair on his body stood on end.

"You filthy..." Golden flames erupted across her six wings. "pig…"

BOOOOOOM!

The divine pressure multiplied. Damon coughed out blood. The ground beneath his feet disappeared entirely, crushed into nothingness by the pressure.

The Goddess finally lifted her head. Her golden eyes locked onto his. There was no fear remaining inside them. There was only murderous fury.

La Rocha's voice became deadly serious. "You have seconds, Master. Maybe less. Once she completely regains control of her Divine Origin, there is absolutely no way you can continue winning."

Damon gritted his teeth. The Goddess's fingers tightened another fraction around his wrist. His bones cracked. She smiled. It was no longer the indifferent smile from before. It was something vicious.

"You thought…" Her other hand slowly rose. "…you could steal from a God?" Golden light gathered within her palm.

Damon felt death. Absolute death.

If that hand landed on him, there wouldn't be enough left of his body to regenerate. His thoughts accelerated. He immediately flooded her body with all sorts of venom and tried his best to focus and devour faster.

However, nothing changed. The Goddess indifferently continued to stare at him as her condition became better and better. He needed to do something fast.

The only thing inside him powerful enough to change the situation… Was the one thing he had been terrified to touch.

Damon's consciousness immediately turned inward, toward that tiny grain of golden light.

The Origin Core.

La Rocha instantly realized what he intended. His face changed. "Wait."

Damon reached toward it.

"MASTER, WAIT!"

Damon grinned.

"Don't touch the fucking Origin Core!"

Too late. Damon's consciousness slammed directly into it. For one infinitesimal moment, nothing happened. Then the tiny core opened.

Damon's smile disappeared. "Oh…" An impossible amount of power flooded into him. "…fuck."

BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

The world around Damon vanished. Space collapsed first. Then the ground. Then the air. Everything within several kilometers was instantly erased as an invisible wave erupted from Damon.

The Goddess was blasted away. Her eyes widened. "What?!" For the first time since regaining control of her body, she was forced backward.

One kilometer. Ten kilometers. A hundred.

Her six enormous wings folded around her as golden divine barriers appeared one after another.

CRACK!

CRACK!

CRACK!

Every single barrier shattered. The Goddess finally roared and slammed both hands forward.

BOOOOOOM!

A gigantic golden shield manifested before her. The invisible force crashed into it. The heavens shook. The Goddess gritted her teeth as the enormous shield cracked from the center, but it held. She stared ahead in disbelief. "What did that insect-" Her words stopped.

Damon was still standing there. Or rather…

Something resembling Damon was standing there. Golden cracks covered every inch of his body. His veins glowed. His bones glowed. Even his blood had turned into streams of brilliant golden light. His body looked less like flesh and more like a fragile container desperately attempting to hold a star.

"MASTER!" La Rocha's scream rang through Damon's mind.

But Damon couldn't answer. He couldn't even think. There was simply too much power.

The instant he had touched the Origin Core, Damon had expected to gain access to some immense reservoir of energy.

He had been wrong. This wasn't a reservoir. It was an ocean being forced through the eye of a needle. His body was the needle. Every cell inside him was being destroyed and reconstructed millions of times.

His soul trembled. His consciousness was being stretched apart.

Damon roared in pain and agony. Another pulse escaped his body.

BOOM!

The Goddess was pushed backward again.

Damon's right arm exploded. It immediately regenerated. His left leg disappeared next. That too immediately regenerated. His chest burst open. Once again, it quickly regenerated.

Destroy.

Regenerate.

Destroy.

Regenerate.

Again and again and again.

The Origin Core continuously flooded him with power his existence was fundamentally incapable of containing.

La Rocha looked horrified. "You fucking lunatic! What did you think would happen?!" He practically shrieked. "You're dying!"

However, he could no longer reach Damon. The power from the origin core spilled over to him as well. La Rocha had to muster everything to just hold on. From this point on everything relied on Damon and Damon alone.

On the other side, the Goddess watched in shock and horror as the vampire in front of her destroyed himself over and over again.

At first, she did nothing. She focussed on healing herself first. She did not want to be vulnerable again. Also, there was no need. The fool had already killed himself. Perhaps not immediately, but the result was inevitable.

No mortal body could contain Origin Energy. Even newly ascended Gods required a Divine Body before they could properly wield their Origin Core. What this madman was doing was no different from pouring an entire ocean into a cracked cup.

He would break. His soul would collapse. And whatever bizarre accident had allowed him to condense an Origin Core would die alongside him.

The Goddess slowly lowered her hand. Then she frowned. Something was wrong.

The first time Damon's body exploded, almost everything below his chest had disappeared. The second time, only half of it had. The third time… Her golden eyes narrowed. Only his arm exploded and it regenerated immediately.

Another enormous pulse of Origin Energy surged through Damon. His skin cracked. His muscles tore. Golden blood sprayed outward. But this time, nothing exploded.

The Goddess's expression changed. "No."

Damon suddenly lifted his head. Two golden stars burned within his crimson eyes. His lips slowly curled upward. Another torrent erupted from the Origin Core.

BOOOOOOM!

Damon staggered. Cracks spread across his entire body but he remained standing. Origin energy was brutal but his bloodline was simply fucking overpowered!

The Goddess took a step backward. Even after everything she had still underestimated him. She hurriedly gathered whatever was left of her divine energy and attacked. But it was already too late.

The next second Damon stood right next to her. Blood tendrils shot forward and wrapped around the Goddess before she could react.

Her eyes widened. "What…"

BOOM! Golden light erupted from her body. But it did nothing to the tendrils. Hundreds more erupted from his body, wrapping around her arms, legs, wings and waist.
