SSS Awakening: Rebirth of the Strongest Vampire God Chapter 770 A pitiful life?

Damon did not waste time and quickly teleported to the exact location his bloodline thread pointed to. He appeared inside a small bakery. No one noticed. His [Stealth] was still active.
The warm smell of fresh bread filled the room. Fire crackled softly inside the stone oven while flour dust floated lazily through the air.
There was a middle-aged man who was kneading dough frantically. "Oh shit. I am super late today. I have a dozen delivery orders today." He murmured as he continued kneading.
This guy right here possessed the same primordial bloodline as him? Damon couldn't believe it. Not only was mana absent, but the world did not even have modern inventions and electricity. It was truly a backwater world.
Damon stood silently behind the man, his [Stealth] still perfectly active, crimson eyes studying him carefully.
The middle-aged baker wiped sweat from his forehead with his sleeve while aggressively kneading a mound of dough. "Damn it… if I don't finish these before sunrise, the mayor's wife is going to yell at me again…" He grabbed another sack of flour and dumped it onto the table.
Damon stared. There was no mistake. Deep inside the man's chest, buried beneath layers of completely ordinary human life force, was the same crimson spark Damon carried within himself, a fragment of the Primordial Bloodline.
Damon folded his arms slowly. "This is absurd." Out of all the terrifying beings scattered across the multiverse carrying fragments of the same ancient bloodline… one of them had become a bread baker in a mana-dead medieval town. This man had the same potential as him, and yet he lived such a pitiful life.
And he was about to die an even more pitiful death.
A small drop of blood appeared, and it was about to decimate the baker when suddenly Damon stopped it. The next moment, a little girl barely four years old came rushing into the shop. "Papa, papa, I am here."
The little girl burst through the door like a tiny hurricane, her small feet thumping loudly against the wooden floor. Flour puffed into the air as she crashed straight into the baker's leg and hugged him tightly.
The man almost lost his balance. "Hey! Careful, baby!" he laughed, steadying himself with one hand on the table. "You'll send the dough flying."
The girl giggled and looked up at him with wide eyes. "Mama said I can help today!"
"Did she now?" The baker raised an eyebrow dramatically. "Help with the bread?"
"Yes!" she declared proudly.
Damon watched silently from the shadows.
The baker wiped his hands on a cloth and crouched down in front of the girl. "Well then, apprentice baker," he said seriously, placing a small lump of dough in her hands, "your first task."
The girl gasped as if she had been entrusted with the fate of the world. "Yes, sir!" She immediately began smashing the dough with both hands. It flattened into a messy blob.
The baker laughed. "Alright, maybe… less smashing." He ruffled her hair. "Look at that. Perfect bread already." "It's not bread yet!" The little girl protested.
While they were playing around, a beautiful woman walked into the shop. "Dear, you're already behind schedule again, aren't you?"
The woman stepped inside carrying a basket of fresh eggs. Morning sunlight followed her through the doorway, casting a warm glow across the bakery.
She was beautiful in a quiet, simple way. Her hair was tied loosely behind her head, and a light dusting of flour covered the front of her dress.
The baker looked up with a guilty smile. "…Maybe."
She sighed, but the corner of her mouth curved upward. "You said the same thing yesterday."
"I know, I know," he replied quickly, gesturing helplessly toward the piles of dough. "But the mayor ordered double today."
The little girl suddenly raised the smashed blob of dough above her head proudly. "Look mama! I'm helping!"
The woman blinked at the flattened lump. "…Is that supposed to be bread?"
"It's apprentice bread!" the baker declared confidently.
The woman laughed softly and walked over, wiping a bit of flour off the girl's cheek. "Well, apprentice baker, that looks very… creative."
The girl puffed out her chest proudly.
Behind them, Damon remained completely motionless. His crimson eyes quietly observed the scene. He watched as the man lovingly pulled the woman in for a kiss. His one hand was holding his daughter's small palm, and his other hand hugged his wife.
At that moment, he looked truly happy and content. There was not a trace of stress or worry in his eyes. This man had probably never killed anyone or anything in his entire life, never schemed or fought for power, and if left like that, would continue to live a boring, mundane life.
A life so small it would not even register on the cosmic scale Damon now lived in.
And yet…
Right this second, his little insignificant life did not seem that pitiful or boring. Rather, it seemed like a goal Damon did not even know he was looking forward to.
The baker lifted his daughter onto the counter so she could "help" shape another loaf. The girl burst into laughter when flour covered her hands, and the woman shook her head while smiling softly. The man looked at them both like nothing else in the world mattered.
Standing here, watching this moment unfold, Damon suddenly felt something strange. A small pang of envy. Would he ever be able to live such a life?
His gaze then landed on the drop of blood waiting to end all of this. He hesitated. "Little red, do you think that I will be able to take the bloodline alone without harming him?"
There was no answer for a while. "It's… difficult." Blood Reign said.
"The fragment is fused with his life essence. It has been dormant since his birth. Removing it cleanly… without harming the host… would require extremely delicate control."
"How delicate?"
Blood Reign paused again before answering. "If you were an S-rank blood sovereign, perhaps it would be easy."
"And at B rank?"
"It's impossible, master. Even for you… there is simply no other way. You have to kill him to devour the bloodline."
