Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure Chapter 2537: Hidden base (2)

It wasn’t easy for the racial alliance to send backup to this place.
In the first place, this was a spot that was in the deepest part of the Forest of Anguish.
For the reinforcements from the racial alliance, they had to slowly carve their way through the monsters that lived in the Forest of Anguish before they were able to reach this place.
They didn’t have the same ability to scare off the monsters since they weren’t relic users.
In the end, the decision that they reached was to have the relic users lead the way and use the divine energy of the relic users to scare off the monsters. It was only then that the reinforcements were able to reach the location that was sent back.
Only when they arrived, they couldn’t help being stunned.
"What is going on here?"
Seeing the leader of the reinforcements, I went over and explained the situation to them.
Including the scene that was currently in front of them which had caused them to be shocked like this.
"We haven’t been able to stop the flow of the corruption energy monsters coming from inside the cave. It’s already been around a day and there are still all of these corruption energy monsters coming from inside."
After I explained this, he turned to me as if he was asking me, "What do you want us to do about this?"
A faint smile crept onto my lips as I said, "We just need you to form a perimeter and block the corruption energy monsters that come out. We’ll work on sending a team inside to explore the cave itself and see where these corruption energy monsters are coming from."
Even though the task that he had been assigned wasn’t that hard, it didn’t seem like the leader of the reinforcement group had any confidence that it would work.
After all, he didn’t think that they would be able to restrain all of the corruption energy monsters that were coming out of the hole like the relic users were doing.
But he soon found out that it wasn’t as if the relic users were about to leave.
The relic users were all being stationed with them, which made things much easier for them. The only thing that they really had to do was form the perimeter while making sure that none of the corruption energy monsters escaped.
So it didn’t take long for them to form this perimeter.
In fact, it was even easier for them to deal with the corruption energy monsters that were coming out of the cave once the perimeter had been formed which made the relic users glare at them.
"Why are you taking away our practice dummies?"
That was what one could hear when they saw the way that the relic users looked at them. It was just that the soldiers of the racial alliance had no choice but to follow their orders.
When it came to matters related to the forces of Destruction, this was something that the entire racial alliance was involved in. So it didn’t matter what the relic users were thinking, they had to accept the support from the racial alliance soldiers regardless.
Seeing that everything had been taken care of, the teachers that had been a part of the defenses stopped fighting the corruption energy monsters.
These teachers were the earliest relic users and among the strongest, so it was only normal that they would be the ones that would be investigating the cave.
But it wasn’t as if they were going to charge right in.
Instead, there was someone else that would be opening the way forward for them.
I looked up to see the way that Joan looked at me and I helplessly shook my head to show that there was nothing that I could do about this.
It wasn’t as if Joan couldn’t follow us, it was just that we needed her for something else.
Her flames would be the thing that opened the path for us.
But there was a part of me that did feel guilty towards her since I had been putting a lot of pressure on her during this time. It was the reason why she hadn’t been following me around even though she wanted to.
With Joan’s firepower and her mobility, she was the best reinforcement that could be sent when one discovered traces of corruption energy.
So she had been acting as emergency reinforcements during this time, flying around to the different places that were reported in.
It really was hard work, but someone had to do it.
Most of the corruption energy spots that were reported were taken care of by Joan.
But right now, we needed her flames.
She knew that as well, so she didn’t say anything else as she moved to the mouth of the cave and released her flames at the oncoming corrupted energy monsters.
On her side were the relic users that cut down everything else that was coming out of the cave.
As for our group, we stepped into the flames and started heading into the cave.
With Joan’s flames protecting us, there really wasn’t much for us to fear.
Let alone the fact that we could have easily taken care of the corruption energy monsters if we wanted to.
It was like walking through a white corridor with how the flames surrounded us, but it didn’t seem to last. It didn’t take long for us to reach the end of the flames, but that wasn’t because the flames were weak.
The flames disappeared because they had been consumed by the corruption energy that was in this cave.
It really was a ridiculous amount of corruption energy that was stored inside of this cave seeing how the divine energy flames weren’t able to get us that far.
But this was far enough for us to find something.
It didn’t seem like there were corruption energy monsters in this place.
Rather, there were black orbs that seemed to contain something.
