When we arrived, we could see the chaos that was in front of us.

We weren’t the only ones that had noticed the appearance of the corruption energy, there were others that had noticed it as well and they appeared before we could.

They were the ones that were currently fighting with the corruption energy monsters that leaked out of the cave.

It was just that no one would have thought that this random cave in the middle of this forest would contain corruption energy monsters like this.

In the first place, this might be one of the reasons that no one had discovered this place. This forest was a place that was filled with monsters, so it wasn’t as if they had performed a deep search.

They had only performed a general search of the area to see that there was no corruption energy.

But if this corruption energy hid somewhere...

"It seems like we’ve made a mistake in our approach. Even if it is dangerous, it seems like we need to send people to check those places."

Old Man Lancelot just gave a nod to agree with me before moving forward as if he was about to step in himself.

But before he could, I reached out to stop him.

"For now, there’s no telling what will happen. It’s better if we watch just in case something happens that they can’t deal with."

Though it sounded as if I was using them as bait, it was the truth.

We didn’t know anything about the cave that contained these corruption energy monsters, so it was only natural that we didn’t know what else could be inside of this place.

If something even more dangerous appeared, it would be better that we were waiting to ambush it.

Old Man Lancelot seemed to consider this for a bit before backing down.

Seeing him back down like this also assured me a bit.

After all, there was no reason for him to back down unless he was certain that they would be able to take care of the corruption energy monsters that were coming out of the cave.

It was just that there was one thing that had to be said.

"There really are a lot of them."

If the mouth of the cave was bigger, then even more of these corruption energy monsters would have been swarming out. It seemed like there was an endless supply of corruption energy inside of this cave.

But since this was where the corruption energy monsters were coming from, it also seemed a bit natural that there would be this much corruption energy stored inside of this cave.

Since the forces of Destruction disappeared, most of the corruption energy on the continent had also disappeared. There were some that remained behind, but it was just a speck of what had once been.

The things that remained behind were easily wiped out with just the holy water and holy magic. It didn’t require divine energy weapons to purify.

But the corruption energy that disappeared didn’t just completely disappear, it had been sent to another place.

This cave was most likely one of the places that it had been sent.

It seemed more and more likely that there was something powerful that was hidden inside of this cave.

As time passed, there were more and more of the students that gathered in this area.

They had noticed the commotion and came to see what was happening. When they saw that it was corruption energy that they were dealing with, none of them hesitated to join the fight.

In fact, it seemed like they were excited about this.

They had never faced corruption energy on a scale like this, so it was only normal that they would be excited. Though a part of this really was something that Old Man Lancelot had cultivated in them.

His training really changed their personalities into one that enjoyed fighting.

With these students showing up, we were even able to set up a camp near this place and take turns cutting down the corruption energy monsters that came out.

We didn’t actually push into the cave since it didn’t seem like there was anything powerful that was coming out yet.

But at least we were able to control it by having groups take care of the corruption energy monsters that poured out while others took a break. We even had enough time to send a messenger back to the racial alliance regarding this matter.

It wasn’t as if we could just ignore the racial alliance when corruption energy appeared on this scale.

"It seems like the monsters are avoiding this place too."

Old Man Lancelot narrowed his eyes to look at the monsters in the distance before slowly giving a nod.

What we were talking about wasn’t the regular monsters, but rather the ones that were considered the kings of this place. They were the ones that lived in the deepest parts of these woods and were considered the strongest monsters.

Yet they didn’t approach this place not just because of the divine energy that was here.

It seemed like they already knew about the corruption energy, which was why they didn’t approach this place. It seemed like the monsters of this forest already had come to a decision about how to deal with the corruption energy.

That idea was to avoid it completely and leave this place for it.

For the monsters to do this, it must mean that there was something that was pressuring them.

They weren’t even scared of the pressure that came from the divine energy, yet they were scared of this cave and didn’t approach it.

"Just what is inside of this cave that would make them this afraid?"

There was a part of me that really wanted to explore this cave right now, but I knew that this was a bad idea.

Since we had discovered traces of corruption energy, it was best to follow protocol and wait for backup from the racial alliance first.
