There was a large head that came out of the ground, but it wasn’t a human head.

This was the head of a serpent that had its mouth wide open and it seemed to be aimed at the students that were above it.

However, the serpent’s mouth wasn’t able to close around any of the students since they were able to react in time. When the serpent’s head came to the surface, they had already jumped out of the way.

Only they weren’t able to come back to their senses in time to actually fight back.

By the time that they were able to react, the serpent was already heading back under the ground.

The giant serpent naturally knew that this situation wasn’t good for it, so it was heading back under the ground to prepare for a second attack.

Among this group of students, there was one that possessed an earth attribute relic.

"It’s still moving under the ground, it seems to be preparing for a second attack."

When this was said, all of the students prepared themselves for a fight.

They didn’t know where this serpent came from or what kind of monster it was, but it wasn’t as if they were going to back down from a fight. It wasn’t as if this serpent was strong enough that it would force them all to back down.

With the earth attributed relic user tracking the serpent, it wasn’t as if they couldn’t fight back at all even though it was under the ground.

"It’s actually not backing down? What is this thing?" I couldn’t help asking Old Man Lancelot when I saw this.

"The deeper you go in the forest, the stronger the monsters that live there. The stronger the monsters are, the less afraid they are of divine energy. The stronger ones have a pride that won’t let them back down even if they are instinctively afraid." Old Man Lancelot said this as if he had experience with this.

If he was bringing them here, then he most likely had already scouted this place and knew about all of this.

"So you’re preparing them by letting them fight these larger monsters?"

He didn’t answer with words, he just gave a simple nod in response.

Even without words, I could figure out what Old Man Lancelot was thinking.

When we had faced the forces of Destruction previously, it wasn’t as if the only thing that attacked us were those corruption energy monsters. When they came together, the corruption energy monsters could even mutate into different forms.

It seemed like it was dependent on the things that the corruption energy had broken down previously.

So it was possible for them to take the form of large monsters like this.

Which was why the relic users needed this experience something like this so that they could prepare in advance. It was only a matter of time before the forces of Destruction made a move after all.

Things were quiet now, but it wouldn’t remain this way forever.

It was impossible that the forces of Destruction had completely retreated, they were just biding their time and gathering as much power as possible.

So when they came, the forces that they would bring would be disastrous.

"But isn’t it still a bit too early for this?" I still had to say this in the end.

I did agree with Old Man Lancelot’s lesson plan, it was just that it seemed a bit too rushed.

The relic users hadn’t been in the school for long, so it wasn’t as if they had learned that much about using the divine energy from their relics. Throwing them into a fight like this might result in scars that even we couldn’t shield them from.

Mental scars were also things that could harm them in the long run.

Old Man Lancelot didn’t say anything, but the smile that he had on his face as he looked at me qualified as an answer.

If he was this confident in his decision, then I wouldn’t say anything else.

I would see how they would take care of this giant serpent.

"Hiss!"

When the giant serpent was forced out of the ground, it didn’t seem like it could believe what just happened. It never would have thought that these small humans would be able to force it out of the ground like this.

But this was what happened with the joint effort of these students.

They had combined the power of their relics with the earth attributed relic, which drove the giant serpent to the point where it couldn’t do anything. It was completely surrounded in divine energy that prevented it from diving into the ground.

At this point, the only thing that this giant serpent could do was fight directly with the students.

Only the attacks that they used weren’t just for pressuring the giant serpent, they were also for limiting the space that the giant serpent could move in.

With the divine energy attacks limiting it, there really wasn’t much that the giant serpent could do.

Eventually, it was surrounded and they drove the final blow into the head of the giant serpent.

"You were right."

Old Man Lancelot didn’t brag about this, he just had a look on his face as if he was saying that this was a natural outcome.

I couldn’t help shaking my head when I saw this, but once again it seemed like I had underestimated the ability of the students. I thought that it would take some time for them to grow, but Old Man Lancelot knew their abilities better than me.

That’s why he was the teacher instead of me.

"So what do you plan to do with..."

Before I could finish what I was saying, I couldn’t help suddenly looking in a certain direction with knitted brows.

When I turned back to look at Old Man Lancelot, I could see him looking at me with the same expression.

So neither of us said anything as we headed off in a certain direction.
