Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure Chapter 2489: Not just one (2)

Looking in the kitchen, I found that there wasn’t a single trace of another person.
At the very least, it didn’t seem like anyone had been cooking before this.
So does that mean that whatever array was here preserving this cave residence was actually preserving the meal as well?
But why would they lay out a meal like this just to preserve it, it didn’t make any sense at all...
After looking around this area, I wasn’t able to find a single clue about this place.
No matter how hard I looked, it really felt like there was something that was missing from this place. It was almost as if the ones that had been living here had suddenly been spirited away one day.
Even if they had become immortals, it wouldn’t have made sense that they would have left a meal out like this. They would have been in the middle of cultivating when they broke through.
"Does that mean that the owner of the cave residence failed to become an immortal in the end? But what could have made a cultivator that was on the verge of becoming an immortal disappear like this?"
After all, those that were on the verge of becoming an immortal would be among the top cultivators of this world.
So it wasn’t as if there was much in this cultivation world that would have been able to threaten them. Much less make them disappear all of a sudden like this without leaving behind a single trace.
The more that I looked around, the more confused I was about this place.
After all, it wasn’t just the kitchen and dining room alone that showed signs that people had once lived in this place and had been spirited away. Because of the preserving array that was in this place, there were signs that people had lived here once all over the cave residence.
It wasn’t just one or two people that lived here, it seemed like it was several groups of people.
From the sets of daily necessities that were here, I could see that there were several families that lived in this place. Yet for all of them to disappear at once and leave behind all these things...
"It just doesn’t make any sense at all..."
At this point, I had already stopped thinking that there would be traps installed in this place since I could see that this was clearly a household that was made for living in.
There were even toys that were scattered around, so it was unlikely that they would set up traps in places that even children could reach. Otherwise it might really be too late to do something if a trap triggered when a child was nearby.
However, if it wasn’t for the spiritual energy that filled the air, I really wouldn’t have thought that this was a place for cultivation. It looked like a manor that a normal mortal family lived in, instead of a manor for cultivators.
"Since I’ve come this far, it seems like I have to do it."
With a deep breath, I released the divine energy around me.
This was a place that I thought belonged to immortals, so I didn’t know what would happen if my divine energy was to make contact with the relics that they left behind.
But since I couldn’t find anything, there was a part of me that wanted some kind of reaction from those relics. At least with those reactions, I would be able to find the immortal energy relics and anything else that was left behind by the ones that had once lived in this place.
In the end, there was no reaction to the divine energy.
However, that didn’t mean that I didn’t find anything at all.
After releasing the divine energy, I found that there were hidden rooms in this place.
Normal people wouldn’t have been able to discover this since there were arrays that were placed here that hid those rooms. But with my divine energy, the arrays just crumbled as soon as the divine energy wave was released.
It didn’t last a single second under the force of the divine energy that I released.
So I was able to find all of the secret rooms that were in this place.
With the location of the secret rooms, that couldn’t help feeling silly, "I should have been able to guess that there were these secret rooms since I saw the size of the manor outside."
The spatial array that was used only made the cave itself bigger, it wasn’t used to make the manor bigger than it already was. So from the structure of it, I should have been able to find that the space that the rooms I could see occupied didn’t add up.
There were several studies, each one seemingly belonging to a different person.
However, the strange thing was that all of them were studies that were filled with different books.
With the divine energy sweep, I also found the way to open up all of these studies and started making my way through them.
The moment that I stepped into the first one, I could feel the familiar energy coming from it.
Looking at the desk in this room, I could see the items that were releasing this familiar energy.
Seeing this, I was caught off guard.
After all, it wasn’t just a single item that was releasing this familiar energy. There were several items that were on the table that were all releasing this familiar energy.
Only immortal energy could surprise me this much.
"The number of relics corresponds to the number of people in the family..."
Then did that mean that all of them had indeed ascended to the upper realm as immortals?
This really was too hard to believe since I had seen the toys for the children.
If even children could ascend to become immortals, then what were the cultivators of the various sects working so hard for?
