The protagonist returned to the cultivation sects, expecting scrutiny, but found themselves largely unhindered. Despite this apparent freedom, hidden cultivators were still observing. The protagonist, aware of their presence, devised a plan to reveal them. By using a bear attack as a distraction and a misplaced sword strike, the protagonist forced one of the hidden observers to intervene, effectively exposing their surveillance. After successfully deterring the observers multiple times, the protagonist felt confident that their movements would no longer be closely monitored, allowing them to proceed to their destination.

When I stepped in, I couldn’t help being amazed.

This was the main cave residence of the one that owned the other cave residence, so I already had some kind of expectation. It was just that when I arrived in the cave residence, I was completely blown away.

The expectations that I had weren’t even close to what this place really was.

Instead of just being a cave residence, this place seemed like a cave mansion.

After all, the sheer size of this cave alone was already bigger than the manor of the puppet cultivator that I went to previously.

It was so big that it was hard to believe that it would even fit in this place.

However, I could easily see why it was so big.

"Those spatial fluctuations, it seems like the one that created this place used a special spatial array to help make this space even bigger. That’s why the space is bigger than the mountain it’s in."

Spatial arrays really were a staple in cultivation worlds, but this kind of thing had never appeared in the game world that this world was based on.

It seemed like after becoming a real world, there were more and more things that were developing that just didn’t exist in the game.

But that was just how it was since there was plenty of lore for this world to draw on.

It wouldn’t have been strange if there was even an ancient sect that was hiding somewhere in this world.

Right now, it was more important to figure out what this cave residence was.

After all, I didn’t have the advantage of knowing the layout of this place since it wasn’t something that had existed in the game. That was why I had no choice but to explore this place for myself.

Whatever was about to come was completely new and I would have to deal with it on the fly.

Even so, I couldn’t stop a small part of me from feeling excited about this.

I couldn’t help feeling the same way that I did when I was exploring a new dungeon in a game.

It was just that unlike the game world, death meant actual death in this world.

So I couldn’t let my guard down for even an instant.

"Creak."

I just stared at the door that opened before I could even reach it. It was as if it had sensed my approach and opened on its own.

"Why is it welcoming me in? Is it some kind of trap?" Of course I didn’t go through the door when I saw it open like this. Instead, I raised my guard and waited for something to come out at me since it seemed like some kind of trap.

But there was nothing that happened after the door opened.

I could see the residence and it seemed like nothing more than a normal residence.

No, it was actually more than a normal residence with the way that it was decorated.

"Whoever created this place clearly cared about it quite a bit if they spent all that effort decorating it like this." I couldn’t help admiring the way that this residence was designed.

But in the end, the most important thing was whether there were any traps at all.

No matter how many times I scanned this place, I wasn’t able to find a single thing.

So in the end, I had no choice but to step forward since just standing here wasn’t an option. Though as I moved forward, I did make sure to keep my guard up just in case something did pop out.

Still, there was nothing that happened.

In fact, it would have seemed like a waste if something did pop out and ruined this perfectly decorated residence.

After entering, I found that there were more and more doors that were in this place.

It seemed like whoever had created this residence really didn’t spare any effort in building up this place as they put in all of these different rooms.

The problem was that it really would take quite a bit of effort to explore all of this. At the same time, there was no telling what would be hiding behind each and every one of these doors.

Exploration would have been fine if it followed the normal pattern, but this place really was just too unsettling with how it differed.

But it wasn’t as if I had any choice...

I went over to the closest door and reached out to open it.

What I found was a proper living room that was decorated the same as the main hall.

In this living room, there wasn’t a single trap that was laid down just like with the main hall, so I was able to explore it without any problems. Only it didn’t seem like there was anything special that was here.

Just a few items that seemed to have been preserved by some kind of array that covered this whole manor that seemed to be used for the daily life of the ones that lived here.

It didn’t even seem like the manor of a cultivator at this point, it seemed like the manor that a rich mortal would have lived in. But I knew that this place was for a cultivator since I could feel the thick spiritual energy that was in the air.

The next door that I opened led to a dining room that had a kitchen attached to it.

When I entered, I couldn’t help looking at the table with a strange look.

After all, there was a meal that was on the table.

Only it wasn’t the fact that there was a meal on the table that surprised me.

It was the fact that there was still steam coming from the food itself, almost as if it had come fresh from the pot. It was as if someone had just cooked this meal and placed it onto the table.

"Is there someone else here?"
