The welcome that I received was certainly not one that I had been expecting from the cultivation sects when I went back down again.

However, it was certainly something that was a positive step forward.

Instead of assigning more guides like before, it was almost as if they didn’t care anymore what I was doing. At this point, it felt like they were just letting me do whatever I wanted to do.

But that was only on the surface.

Even though they didn’t assign any guards, one could easily see that they were hiding how they felt.

It was clear that they still didn’t trust me, but it also wasn’t as if they could assign any more guides. At this point, it would have turned into an international incident if they kept trying to watch over me like that.

At the same time, they were suffering financially because of what happened last time.

So in the end, they chose to do something completely different.

"So they’re still following me."

The cultivation sects thought that they were being sneaky by assigning those that were good at stealth techniques to follow me. It was just that this didn’t work at all since I could easily see through them.

When this bear suddenly came out of the woods and attacked me, I drew a sword out and faced it.

The bear didn’t back down as it suddenly charged at me, but I dodged out of the way and slashed the sword at the bear. But as I slashed out at the bear, the sword suddenly flew out of my hand.

With a speed that was just too fast for the cultivators to follow, the sword cut the branch that one of the people following me was standing on. They couldn’t even believe what was happening until they started falling to the ground.

Once they started falling, it was hard for them to gather spiritual energy to stop falling and they soon landed on the ground with a large sound.

As soon as that sound rang out, I said, "That friend over there, can you please help me deal with this dangerous bear?"

When the person who fell to the ground heard this, there was a bitter feeling that filled them. After all, it was clear that this was something that was done on purpose.

Even now, the bear seemed scared because of the sword that had suddenly disappeared so it wasn’t as if the bear was about to attack.

But the person that appeared had no choice but to act since I was calling out directly to them.

In a way, it could even be considered a threat that they had no choice but to follow.

After the bear had been taken down, I looked at the person that appeared with a smile and said, "Thank you for saving me, friend."

I couldn’t see their face since it was covered in a mask, but the eyes were enough to show me that there was this bitter feeling that filled them.

Once they left, I could tell that they didn’t return.

Since they had failed, they had no choice but to leave so they wouldn’t implicate the others.

As for the others, they didn’t leave because they felt that this was just a coincidence.

It was just that this didn’t happen once or twice.

Once it happened three times in a row, they knew that this couldn’t have been a coincidence. Once it reached this point, they had no choice but to turn and leave me alone.

After all, I had shown that I knew where they were hiding.

I didn’t directly point it out, but it wasn’t hard not to make this connection when I was already being this direct with it.

However, it wasn’t as if I was just threatening them to leave.
