Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure Chapter 2486: So what did you find?

"So what have you found?"
It had been a week since I found the hoe and brought it back with the other plants.
After coming back, I handed the plants over to Max as samples for him to figure out what the immortal energy was. During this time, I hadn’t been called even once to his lab since he had been using all of his time to study these plants infused with immortal energy.
The fact that he didn’t call me all this time already made it obvious what he had found, but I still came to see for myself.
As expected, he looked quite stressed as he looked over the samples that had been provided to him.
It didn’t even seem like he heard what I said with the way that he was focused on the samples that were in front of him.
It was as if he waited for something to happen with them, but it just wasn’t happening.
No matter how he tried to do this, it didn’t seem like there was anything that was going to happen.
I didn’t mind that he didn’t say anything as I walked over to see what he was doing.
It seemed like he really was desperate with the way that he had laid out all of the experiments that he was running. After all, it wasn’t just a single experiment that was in front of him.
All of the plants that I had given him had been split into many different parts and it seemed like he was running hundreds of experiments at the same time.
All of the different experiments were using different catalysts, but it didn’t seem like any of them was working. It didn’t seem like there was anything that was capable of reacting with the immortal energy with how all of the different experiments seemed inert.
So in the end, I pulled him away from the table.
"What are you doing?" Max immediately complained when I pulled him away, but I didn’t listen as I kept pulling him away.
Only when we were away from the table did I say, "You need to take a break. It’s clear that you’re overworking yourself and stressing yourself out for no reason. Unless you get a breath of fresh air, you won’t be able to think of anything new."
Max glared at me as if he was still unhappy about what happened, but he didn’t bother complaining.
Instead, he grabbed one of the clipboards that was on the side and started listing some things that were written on it out for me.
The way that he was listing everything, it seemed like this was something that he had figured out a long time ago.
I was caught off guard when I heard this since all of these things were related to the immortal energy that I was having him investigate.
Not to mention with how thorough it was, it was clear that he had already figured out a lot about the uses of the immortal energy.
Even so, it didn’t seem like he was satisfied with all of this with the way that he was acting.
Once he finished reading all of this, Max just looked at me as if he was saying, "Can I get back to work now?"
However, I didn’t let him go as I asked, "What is it that you’re not satisfied with?"
When he heard this, there was a strange look that appeared on Max’s face as he turned back to look at the experiments that were on the table.
After looking at them for a bit, he said, "It’s different with this."
I couldn’t help raising one brow to look at him before looking at the things he had on the table as well. However, I couldn’t see what he was seeing no matter how I looked at the things that were on the table.
It was clear that he was seeing something completely different with the way that he looked at samples that were there, almost as if there was something more to the immortal energy.
It was just that I couldn’t figure out what he was looking at.
"Perhaps that this is something that only a genius can see." I couldn’t help muttering under my breath.
But with all the things that Max had already figured out, it would have been easy for us to use the plants with the immortal energy infused inside of them. Even though it was immortal energy, it still had the effect on those that had mana in them.
In fact, it seemed like it had quite the strong effect on those with mana.
In a way, it’s similar to how divine energy would act on people.
One could only say as expected of something that was on the same level as divine energy.
After taking a moment to think about it, I finally realized what it was that Max was fretting over.
"So you’re trying to figure out the essence of this, similar to how we’ve figured out what divine energy and corruption energy is?"
Max slowly nodded in agreement to this before the way that he looked at me changed.
With how quickly it changed, it was almost as if this was something that he had practiced ahead of time. It seemed like there was something that he wanted from me, which was why he had already prepared for this ahead of time.
Before he even said anything, I could already guess what it was that he wanted to say.
It was just that this did put me in a pinch.
If I were to supply the thing that he wanted, then I would have to deal with the cultivation alliance once more. After what happened last time, there really was no telling what they would do this time.
I had wanted to give them a bit more time to accept that there was nothing that they could do, but it didn’t seem like Max could wait any longer...
With a sigh, I said, "Fine, I’ll go back and find some more samples for you."
By this, I meant not just things infused with immortal energy.
Rather, he was looking for relics that could generate immortal energy.
