The protagonist discovered a hut filled with overwhelming immortal energy, which was leaking into the surrounding garden and causing the plants to grow exceptionally well. Realizing the source of the energy was an item within the hut, the protagonist used their creation divine energy to form a black hole, which absorbed the ambient energy until only the source remained. This source was revealed to be a hoe, imbued with immortal energy and exhibiting a mind of its own. As the protagonist approached the hoe, a spiked object emerged from the ground.

I didn’t panic when I saw the point of this thing coming at me, I just calmly raised my hand and raised dirt of my own to stop it.

When the earth spears collided with my earth wall, the spears shattered while a dent was left in my wall.

"It is a spear made of immortal energy, so it isn’t as if it’s that weak." I said to myself when I saw the dent in the wall.

But then I realized that I was wrong.

There were only traces of immortal energy where the dirt from the spear had scattered.

It seemed that only a small amount of immortal energy had been infused into the dirt that was made to create the spear, it wasn’t an actual spear that was completely filled with immortal energy.

Even so, that had been enough to create a dent in a wall made from divine energy.

"So immortal energy really is on the same level as divine energy..."

Of course, it wasn’t as if it was one to one since there were levels among divine energy as well.

The divine energy of a god would be stronger than the divine energy that I wielded since I was still a mortal. Not to mention a god that had countless followers that would help empower their divine energy even more.

On the immortal side though, there were still levels to immortal cultivation.

Even if they became immortals, it wasn’t as if they would stop cultivating.

The ones that had been immortals longer would reach a higher level than the ones that had become immortals later. Which would naturally make them stronger than those that became immortals later.

Now the only question was whether immortal energy would have an effect on corruption energy.

I knew that it was possible for spiritual energy to affect corruption energy, but there was no telling what immortal energy, which was a higher level variant of spiritual energy, would do.

This hoe might be the perfect thing to use to test that.

I didn’t release the wall that I created, I used that wall to keep pushing forward towards the hoe.

As I came closer and closer to the hoe, it was also using more and more immortal energy to create spears that flew at me. It seemed like it was doing all that it could to make sure that I couldn’t approach it.

Only none of the spears were able to break through the wall.

The dents became bigger, but it just wasn’t strong enough to penetrate it.

With the amount of divine energy that I had, it was easy for me to repair the dents when they appeared.

So in the end, it really was a matter of me overpowering the hoe with my divine energy.

When I was right in front of the hoe, I suddenly reached out towards it.

The moment that I reached out, there were spears that came from all directions. It was as if the hoe was making one last desperate attempt to stop me.

But in the end, that didn’t work as I released a wall that surrounded both the hoe and me. None of the spears were able to penetrate it, though they did leave dents just like before.

The only difference was that the spears didn’t actually break apart after hitting the wall.

It was as if there was something that kept infusing more immortal energy into these spears to force them to maintain their form.

However, I just ignored this as I finally grabbed the hoe.

The moment that I grabbed the hoe, I could feel that the force coming from the spears had stopped. It was as if the hoe had suddenly stopped attacking me, as if it had realized something.

After a moment of silence, it seemed like the hoe was finally accepting me as the spears disappeared without a trace and it settled down.

I didn’t know why the hoe had suddenly decided to do this, but it was a good thing that the hoe wasn’t putting up a fight again. However, I didn’t let down the wall that was around us just in case this was a trick.

As I looked at the hoe in my hand, I couldn’t help muttering, "What am I supposed to do with this thing?"

It didn’t even seem like the hoe was alive anymore with the way that it was acting.

But I knew that it still possessed the same immortal energy as before, so it wasn’t as if it had completely lost all signs of life.

So now it was all about how to form a connection with this hoe so I would be able to use it.

After thinking for a bit, I took out a drop of my blood from my finger and placed it on the hoe.

This was the process that was the most famous when one wanted to bind to an artifact in my past life, so I wanted to see if it would work.

Once the drop of blood hit the hoe, it didn’t seem like there was a reaction that came from it.

I didn’t know what I was thinking when I used this method, but I had a bit of hope that it would work.

"So what am I supposed to do with this..."

Before I could finish saying this, there was a glow that suddenly surrounded the hoe before it spread to me. This glow covered my entire body for a few seconds before disappearing without a trace.

With how quickly it had disappeared, it was almost as if it had never been there.

But I knew that it had appeared, not just because I had seen it.

Rather, it was because I could feel the connection between me and the hoe that had just formed.

That glow was the sign that my idea had worked and now the hoe had been bound to me.

It only took a single thought to figure out what the hoe was capable of.
