The demonic sects were easily defeated by divine energy weapons, and their corruption energy proved ineffective. It became clear the God of Destruction had abandoned them, as no Apostles of Destruction remained and the demonic cultivators seemed unaware of any such being. After capturing many demonic sect leaders, the protagonist interrogated them about the God of Destruction, but they claimed ignorance. However, they did reveal information about the source that had guided them regarding corruption energy.

It turned out that they didn’t have any connections with the God of Destruction at first.

In the first place, they had struggled with the corruption energy just like the orthodox sects.

But after a while, the ones that said that they could hear the voice of salvation stepped forward.

They were the ones that told the others about the voice inside of the corruption energy. They were also the ones that had taught the others to control that corruption energy.

It seemed like they were the ones that had also directed the demonic sects to attack the orthodox sects.

Though when they said this, the looks on the faces of the orthodox cultivators showed that they didn’t believe this at all. It was as if they wanted to tear their mouths apart for spouting such lies in the first place.

Still they held back in the end since they could see that I had more questions for these demonic cultivators.

"You’re saying that you only heard voices and nothing else?" I narrowed my eyes to pressure them as I asked this.

The demonic cultivators seemed confused at first when they heard this, but then they started shaking their heads as if to deny this.

"I’ve never heard the voice." That was what most of them said.

There were a few of them that did admit that they heard the voice from the corruption energy, but they only heard it once or twice. It had always been when the Apostles of Destruction had been around.

The way that they heard the voices, it was almost as if there was someone that had guided them into hearing it. Most likely the Apostles of Destruction that had been with them.

Even though they were desperately denying this, I narrowed my eyes to look at them as if I didn’t believe them.

Only when I saw them desperately trying to make me believe, I knew that they wouldn’t be lying about this.

Or at the very least, they wouldn’t be good enough at lying that they would be able to fool the detector that I made with my creation divine energy.

"If they were only hearing the voices, it really means that it hadn’t been long since the corruption energy came into this world."

Though everything had been pointing to this, there was a part of me that couldn’t help feeling that there was something more to all of this.

But in the end, I had no choice but to accept this.

There was even a part of me that couldn’t help feeling a bit disappointed with this result, but there was no helping it.

However, it didn’t mean that there was nothing else that I could do.

Since the corruption energy was weak in this cultivation world, the Apostles of Destruction didn’t possess that much of it to begin with. Even bathing them in divine energy didn’t really do anything to them.

It was only when they were directly injected with the divine energy that it would have an effect on them.

Which was why I started taking the hands of each of the demonic cultivator that was in front of me.

"What...what are you doing?" They asked with worried voices.

I just ignored them as I started injecting the divine energy into them.

There was a reaction that immediately came from the first one I tested this on, but the reaction was different from what I thought would happen.

Instead of swelling up like the other Apostles of Destruction, he just started screaming out in pain.

At the same time, it seemed like the aura that came from him was changing. It was as if there was something that was being changed from inside of him.

"Oh right, divine energy suppresses demonic cultivation."

The divine energy that I was injecting into him was actually attacking the spiritual energy that came from his demonic cultivation technique, that was why he was in this much pain.

But I didn’t stop since I was curious just how much it would affect him.

In the end, it didn’t seem like it was enough to harm him that deeply. If I continued injecting the divine energy for a long time, it might damage his foundation, but it would take quite a bit of time.

That was just how it was, divine energy wasn’t a kind of energy that was inherently aggressive. It wouldn’t just hurt someone if it was used on them.

It was just the natural suppression that came from the divine energy. It was in its nature to suppress things that had this demonic nature to it.

After I finished injecting the divine energy, I could see the strange looks that were cast in my direction.

I just ignored them all as I moved to the next demonic cultivator.

Seeing my hand reaching out towards him, the demonic cultivator shook his head and looked at me as if he was pleading with me to spare him. But I just ignored all of this as I grabbed his hand and started injecting divine energy.

It wasn’t as if I was permanently damaging them, so it wasn’t anything to worry about.

At most, they would just be weakened for a bit since the spiritual energy inside of them was being purified by the divine energy.

But the pain that they suffered was real and it made them scared of what I was doing.

I thought that it would be the same with each of the demonic cultivators, but it turned out that I was wrong in the end.

"So there were a few more left."

When they started swelling up because of the divine energy that was injected into them, it was hard to mistake them for anything other than Apostles of Destruction.

It seemed like they had been laying low, but there was nothing that they could do when the divine energy was injected into them like this.

So we were able to find the remaining Apostles of Destruction that had been in hiding.
