Lin Fan showed Max some rocks from another world, which initially unimpressed Max until his tests confirmed their otherworldly nature. Max became excited to study them, hoping to find new diseases, but Lin Fan refused to let him take the rocks. Lin Fan also hinted at the rocks' potential to cause a deadly illness or be used as medicine. Later, Lin Fan revealed mechanical parts, which greatly interested Max, who recognized them as advanced magic tech derived from past civilizations.

"There’s still one more thing that I have to take out." I said with a cough, bringing back Max’s attention.

He had been in a daze staring at all the machine parts that it didn’t seem like he was paying attention to anything else.

But this was something that I wanted him to see.

It didn’t seem like he was listening to me at first, which I wasn’t surprised with. I already knew just how much he could focus on something as long as it was something that he was interested in.

Still, I kept calling for him until he finally turned to look over at me.

Instead of saying anything else, I just took out the thing that I wanted to show him.

His expression immediately changed the moment that he saw these things.

They changed even more than when I had taken out the machine parts.

After all, this was the kind of stuff that interested him.

What I had taken out were a bunch of creature parts and plants.

These were the drops that came from Idon’s world, but they were parts that were different from anything that Max had ever seen before. Which meant that these were ingredients for things that he had never even thought of.

Once he came back to his senses, Max didn’t waste any time in running over to the materials that I placed on the ground.

If I hadn’t moved fast enough, I might have even been pushed out of the way by him. But with my reactions, it was easy for me to dodge out of the way before he could reach me.

Once he reached the materials, Max started analyzing them with the equipment that he brought with him.

Only when the results came out, there was a stunned look on his face.

From over his shoulders, I could see that it wasn’t as if the equipment didn’t find anything. It was just that this information was completely different from anything that it had stored in its database.

But then again, it was normal that this was the result since this was something from a completely different world.

When he came back to his senses, he didn’t remain still.

Instead, he pulled up a list of components of the materials that he had just analyzed with the equipment. He wasn’t just planning on using the analysis of the equipment alone to come to a conclusion, he was planning on using the list to come up with his own ideas.

"These compounds will work as a fever medication."

"These compounds should help alleviate pain."

"These compounds should be able to work as a blood thickener."

Seeing the way that he looked through the different lists and then coming up with ways of using the ingredients was quite a show. After all, it was a demonstration of just how much knowledge this man possessed.

I already knew that he was a genius when it came to medicine, but this went beyond even that.

This was a demonstration of just how much hard work he had put into memorizing everything. At the same time, it was a demonstration of his ability to connect everything that he memorized.

After all, it wasn’t just about memorizing what these things were.

One had to truly understand what kind of properties they possessed and how to connect those properties with other medicines.

The way that Max did it was like how anyone else did it.

He thought of things that no one else was able to think of, all because of how well he understood the properties of the materials that he worked with.

Though I did have to add, "These aren’t things that I can get anymore, so using them simply for this would seem like a waste."

My words got through to him since it was related to what he was thinking about, but all it did was make him knit his brows.

I didn’t bother saying anything else when I saw him deep in thought like this.

He wasn’t the only one that would be receiving these materials to research, but that wasn’t up to me. It was up to whoever was in charge of the labs to figure out how to distribute this.

In the end, I was pushing this responsibility onto someone else.

"It’s only right since I’m the king. I’m not someone that can be stuck doing something as small as this." I made this excuse to myself as I continued taking things out.

When I was done, I came back over to see what Max was doing.

Only this time, the things that he was saying were a bit scary...

"If it’s mixed like this, it should be able to stop the heart."

"This way should be able to stop the lungs."

"Then if I do this, it’ll cut off all activity in the brain."

I know that I told him to figure out creative ways to use these materials since they were limited, but the way that his mind went really made me worried. There was even a part of me that was wondering if he wanted to use these on me.

After all, I was the one that was limiting him by telling him that these materials were limited.

Since I was done taking out everything that I had gotten, it meant that I was done with this place. Before Max could actually do anything to me, I was planning on finding others to unite against him.

If I had the other researchers to go against him with, then it would be easier to distract him as they argued about who would take what materials.

It was just that I didn’t get to sneak away in the end.

It seemed like he still held a grudge against me as he said, "They’re looking for you."

I couldn’t help shaking my head with a bitter smile when I heard this.

There was no need to ask who ’they’ were, there was only one group that he could be referring to.

"It seems like I still have to face the music in the end..."
