"Now, let’s see why they did this."
I was curious why both of these groups did what they did.
After all, it wasn’t as if they would do something like this for no reason and I was curious what that reason was.
So I gathered two large water bubbles and then tossed it right at them.
"Puh, puh, I’m drowning!"
Both sides woke up when they had water tossed on them like this, but their reaction was a bit exaggerated. It wasn’t as if they could drown from the small amount of water that I threw at them, yet they were acting this way.
But eventually they realized that they weren’t actually drowning and calmed down.
None of them seemed to care about what kind of situation they were in, the only thing that they seemed to worry about was whether they would be able to find a way out of this place.
Their eyes kept darting back and forth, as if they were looking for some path to escape from this place.
Perhaps this was just the habits that had been formed from the occupation that they held.
But that didn’t matter since they were completely restrained.
If I was going to wake them up, naturally I would be confident that they wouldn’t be able to escape when they woke up. I had already bound them so tightly that they weren’t able to move a single inch.
That was what they discovered once they finished observing the surrounding area.
After realizing that they were bound to the point where they couldn’t move an inch, that was when they finally took notice of me.
"What will it take for you to let us go?"
The leader of the thugs was the first to speak and he actually got right to the point as he started bargaining with me.
It seemed like he was quite the experienced leader, though I already knew this with how he acted previously. It really seemed like he was someone that had already been through quite a bit.
Which actually made me even more curious why he would turn to a profession like this.
"Hero, why are you doing this? Is this some kind of strange play?" The girl that I saved looked at me with flirty eyes as she said this.
I would have to be a fool to not know that she was using some kind of charm skill at this point, but it wasn’t as if this had any effect on me.
In fact, I knew just how to deal with her.
"Hmph."
"Pu."
With a single snort from me, that girl suddenly spat out blood. It was as if there was some kind of rebound that hit her with the way that she spat out blood like this.
"What did you do?" Her companions immediately shouted out in her defense when they saw this, but I just ignored them as I focused on the leader of the thugs.
With what I had already seen, I knew that there wasn’t a complex reason behind why the girl did it. So I had already lost interest in them and didn’t really care what they had to say.
But since they were being noisy, I raised my hand at them and covered their mouths in ice to stop them from talking.
Once I did that, I turned back to the leader of the thugs and asked, "I’m curious why you turned to this kind of life."
A complicated look appeared on his face as he didn’t say anything in response.
But in the end, he said with a sigh, "It’s not really that hard to imagine. I was betrayed by the people that I trusted, so I had no choice but to come to this place and live this life. I don’t think you would be that interested in this story."
I narrowed my eyes to look at him after hearing this, but I could tell that he didn’t really want to talk about it.
Since he didn’t want to talk about it, it wasn’t as if I cared that much either.
After all, we were nothing more than people that had met by fate and it wasn’t as if we would talk to each other again after this.
I had only wanted to hear his story out of passing curiosity and nothing more.
Since he wasn’t going to tell me, then there was only one thing that I had to do now.
"How do I send them out of this place?"
I had already decided that I wouldn’t kill them, but it wasn’t as if I could just carry them out. I didn’t want to attract any attention, so it was naturally easier for me if I just had something else send them out.
"Can it reach?" I thought to myself before taking out the orb.
With the power of this orb, I summoned a bunch of swords in the air and sent them flying.
Once they reached a certain point, I called them all back to me.
"So it seems like it’s possible if I define a path." I couldn’t help shaking my head with a faint smile as I thought to myself, "If I didn’t know this dungeon like the back of my hand, I really wouldn’t be able to do this."
Turning back around to look at these thieves, the leader of the thugs suddenly said, "I’ll give you all my wealth if you spare me."
But once again, I ignored what he said and raised my hand to knock them out.
As I was doing this, I said, "I bear no grudge, but I can’t just let you go free to harm other people. Just accept your fate and try to be a better person in the future."
A bitter smile appeared on the face of the leader of the thugs, but he wasn’t able to do anything as he lost consciousness.
Then I had the swords pick them up and sent them off.
Once they were gone, I shook my head and muttered to myself, "Human greed really is hard to resist."
