The protagonist ventures into the dangerous upper layers of the water, attracting the attention of predators. After realizing there was nothing more to learn from being chased, the protagonist encounters a chaotic battle initiated by an unnaturally powerful shark. The other predators, wary of the shark's strange strength, hesitate to engage. The protagonist decides to intervene to stop the shark and prevent further environmental damage caused by the invasive energy possessing it.

The shark realized that this ice barrier around it was dangerous, which was why it started slamming itself against the ice in an attempt to break free.

But it didn’t matter how the shark slammed itself against the ice since this ice wasn’t that weak.

It looked like there was only a thin layer of ice around the shark, but this ice was created with divine energy.

The concentration of energy that was used to create the ice barrier wasn’t small, so it wasn’t as if this ice barrier was weak. Especially since it was made of divine energy and had a restraining effect on the shark.

As the shark slammed into the ice barrier, there was smoke that came from the surface of the shark as if it was being burned.

However, it didn’t seem to affect the shark at all.

It was as if the shark just didn’t care about what happened to itself as long as it was able to get out of this ice barrier.

But it wasn’t as if I was going to let it out.

Just because I was in this fish form didn’t mean that I wasn’t able to use the powers that I normally had.

Only before I finished off the shark, there was something that I wanted to see if I could figure out.

While the shark was slamming itself against the wall, I released my divine energy towards the shark. Once the divine energy approached the shark, it seemed like it finally stopped trying to slam into the ice wall and wanted to defend against this divine energy.

As if it was reacting to the divine energy that approached it, there were these black tentacles that came out of the shark.

Even without the black tentacles coming out, I already knew that this shark had been infested with corruption energy just from the sensation that came from it. These tentacles coming out now only served to confirm this even more.

However, the tentacles formed from the corruption energy weren’t able to do anything to stop the divine energy that I released.

Which was why there were tentacles that came out of the other fish that had been trapped inside of this ice wall. These other fishes were the other fishes that had been infected with the corruption energy by the shark.

They had been just floating there as if there was no life in them, but it wasn’t as if they had just been left there for no reason.

The corruption energy inside of the shark had been using those fishes to incubate more corruption energy to use.

But now that it was in danger, it caused the corruption energy inside of the fishes to explode in the form of these tentacles.

The problem for the corruption energy inside of the shark was that I wasn’t a normal person.

As soon as the corruption energy tentacles made contact with the divine energy that I released, they disappeared without a trace. There was no resistance that came from them at all as they were wiped out by the divine energy.

After all, this divine energy was just on a completely different level.

"So was it nothing more than remnant corruption energy?"

Seeing this shark filled with corruption energy attacking random predators in the sea, I thought that this was some kind of plot by the forces of Destruction. However, seeing the way that the corruption energy inside of the shark was acting now, it didn’t seem like that was the case.

It seemed like this was nothing more than remnant corruption energy that was following the instinct that it had been created with.

It was filled with a desire to swallow all of the things around it for the power of Destruction.

Since that was the case, there was no reason for me to leave this thing be.

Leaving it be would just be dangerous and since I was the one that had the power to take care of it, then it would be best if I took it out here and now.

But before I could, I found that there was something else that was approaching.

Turning around, I saw that there was another shark that was charging right at me.

With a single thing, I created another ball of ice that surrounded that shark and trapped it.

When it was trapped like this, the shark did the same thing as this first shark and slammed itself against the ice barrier. But no matter how it tried, the shark was never able to break through just like the first shark.

At the same time, there was smoke that came from the shark as it slammed itself against the ice barrier that was around it.

This was the same thing that had happened with the first shark.

Seeing this, there was no doubt that this shark was also filled with corruption energy.

But I could also see that the corruption energy inside of this second shark was just like the corruption energy inside of the first shark.

"These are nothing more than remnants of corruption energy. It’s not as if there’s anything controlling them, they are just reacting to the divine energy that I’m releasing and protecting each other."

It was just that this still raised the same question of how they got here in the first place.

The logical explanation was that this was corruption energy that no one found previously because it was in a place that no one really visited.

In the sea, there were many places that didn’t have any traces of intelligent races.

After all, the sea was a very wide place and it wasn’t as if the Merman Kingdom was able to spread to every part of it.

So it was likely that there were traces of corruption energy that was hiding where the Merman Kingdom didn’t have any influence.

But it wasn’t as if this was the perfect explanation of why things were like this.

In the end, this required more investigation.
