Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure Chapter 2353: One with nature (3)

As I was swimming along, I couldn’t help looking up at the surface of the water.
I was currently swimming in the middle layer where it was relatively safe, but I felt like I had already seen all that there was to see in this middle layer.
In that case, perhaps it was time to take a risk?
"It’s not like I won’t be able to defend myself if something happens."
So with that thought, I started swimming up to the top layer of the water where the larger predators lived.
It didn’t take long for one to notice me and immediately start chasing after me, but it wasn’t as if I was that slow to begin with. I didn’t have the same speed as those small fish that had that burst speed, but I was still faster than these large predators.
Though it wasn’t faster than me, it didn’t seem to give up.
The one thing that this large predator had was stamina. It didn’t matter how long it chased me, it seemed to have the stamina to keep chasing.
This certainly was another method of chasing down prey, even if it seemed a bit barbaric.
In the end, that was just how evolution was. There wasn’t just a single right answer, there were several answers that were right depending on how they adapted.
It was just that none of this gave me any new epiphanies about how to use my divine energy. After all, this was something that I had already realized previously.
It didn’t feel like there was anything else for me to learn from this large predator chasing me, so I just started swimming faster.
I had been holding back for a while to keep that large predator near me, but there was no longer a point since I had learned all that I could from it.
For a while, it kept following behind me in the same stubborn manner. But it didn’t matter how it chased after me since I was just much faster than it.
Swimming along like this, I was found by several other predators that were just as stubborn as this first one. But it wasn’t as if being stubborn was enough to catch me.
"I guess there’s nothing left for me to see." I said with a sigh, but it seemed like I had jinxed myself.
"Roar!"
There was this large sound along with the sound of things hitting each other.
Whatever was happening, the sounds showed that it was clearly very intense.
From the sounds that came from that direction, it really sounded like there was some kind of intense fight that was happening over there.
With how disappointed I had been with everything that had happened until now, I couldn’t help being interested in this.
But when I approached, I couldn’t help slowing down and looking carefully in that direction. After all, it really felt like I had made some kind of mistake.
"No, it’s not a mistake..."
I couldn’t help feeling even more shock when I had confirmed this.
In the end, I calmed myself down with a deep breath and thought, "It’s not as if we can track down every trace of it. It’s something that exists naturally as well and it hides so well..."
With a sigh, I headed in the direction of the sounds.
When I approached, I saw that it was indeed a large fight. It was just that I was surprised by who it was that was fighting.
The one that had initiated the fight was a shark that was thrashing around. The thing was that it wasn’t just fighting one enemy, it was fighting multiple enemies at the same time.
At the same time, the enemies that it was fighting weren’t just smaller creatures. They were predators of similar size and strength.
Even so, it didn’t seem like the shark that had started the fight was at a disadvantage.
Though the biggest part of this was that the other predators weren’t really keen on going all out against this shark.
This shark seemed to not care at all about its own wellbeing and that was offputting to the other predators. They knew that there was something wrong with this shark and they didn’t want to sacrifice themselves just to take it down.
They could tell that there was something that was making this shark stronger than normal, even if it wasn’t at the point where it could threaten them all together.
With a sigh, I went forward to deal with this shark since I was the only one that would be able to deal with it.
At the same time, it wasn’t as if I could let the shark keep going.
That was because the more the shark rampaged, the more damage that it was doing.
It wasn’t damage to the predators that I was worried about, but the environment itself.
I knew that what had caused this change with the shark was a special form of energy that had been injected into the shark. Or it was better to say that this special form of energy had invaded the shark and was taking it over.
This was something that had already been seen on the surface, but it hadn’t happened that often under the sea. But at the same time, it wasn’t as if it had never happened before.
Which was why it was better to stamp this out now before it could go any further.
There were a few fish around it that had already turned completely black as they had been infected.
Taking a deep breath, I released my divine energy and froze the area around the shark.
The moment that this ice appeared, none of the predators wasted any time remaining in this place. All of them knew that whatever was happening was something unnatural and they didn’t want any part of it.
Especially since this ice barrier was actually keeping the shark away from them, which gave them a chance to escape.
It didn’t take long before it was just me and the shark left here.
