"You...you really are something else."

This wasn’t a compliment, it was a voice that was filled with exhaustion that said this.

After all, the one that had said this really looked like he was exhausted by everything that he had just read.

As for who caused him to feel this way...

An awkward smile appeared on my face, but there wasn’t anything that I could say.

The way that the Merman King looked right now really made him seem just like the prime minister. There was no doubt that he would be feeling the same way as him after everything that I had done.

It seemed like no matter who was in charge of preparing these false lives, they never turned out the way that they expected.

Especially since they had put in all that effort just to ensure that I wouldn’t cause trouble.

But in the end, I always seemed to attract trouble.

"Forget it, what are you going to do now?" The Merman King asked this with a sigh after seeing that I didn’t say anything.

I shook my head to show that I didn’t know at all.

After all, it wasn’t as if there were all kinds of experiences that were just waiting for me out there.

"How about going to where the sea witches are?" Though he said this as if he was giving a suggestion, I could easily tell that this was similar to what the prime minister had meant when he made suggestions.

Basically, he was trying to dump me off onto someone else.

He didn’t want to bear responsibility for arranging these things for me, so he wanted someone else to suffer this fate.

But it wasn’t as if I was interested in going to the sea witches.

To be fair, I had already spent quite a bit of time with the sea witches and had already gotten to know a lot about them. So even if I were to go and spend time with them now, it wasn’t as if there was much that I would be able to learn from them.

Going to where the sea witches were now wouldn’t be helpful to me.

The Merman King had a trace of bitterness fill his face when he saw the look that I showed. But it wasn’t as if he could do anything since he knew that this was important for the future.

The more control that I had over my divine energy, the safer we would all be against the forces of Destruction.

Which was why he made several more suggestions in the end.

Regardless of which suggestion he made, none of them seemed to resonate with me at all. After all, it wasn’t as if any of these things were new experiences that I felt that I could gain anything from.

Though thinking about it, I didn’t really think I would gain anything from the first few experiences...

But this time, there was a different feeling as well.

After all, I already had an idea of what kind of encounters I would face if I followed these suggestions. The things that I would gain from these encounters were things that I had already experienced.

So even if there were new things to gain from these experiences, the benefits would be minimal. In the end, it wouldn’t be worth the effort going through all of this if those benefits were like this.

As we discussed this, it didn’t seem like I was having any idea at all.

That was until the main course had been served.

We had been talking over dinner, so there was food that was brought in while we talked. Though none of it really seemed to have an effect on me until I saw the main course being brought in.

This main course was a large fish that had been perfectly steamed, but that wasn’t what caught my attention.

It was the fact that there was such a large fish in the first place.

On the land, there certainly wouldn’t have been such a large fish to be found. It was only when one dived deep into the sea that they would be able to find a fish of this size.

But that got me thinking about the different environments that the living creatures of this world were raised in. I was thinking about how different environments pushed different creatures to evolve in different ways.

Which suddenly gave me this idea.

"Oh, I could do that!"

Everyone was caught off guard when they heard me suddenly say this out loud before they looked at me as if they were wondering if I was alright.

Realizing that I had made a scene, I gave a cough and sat back down before saying, "I have an idea of what I want to do next."

The Merman King’s first reaction was to reveal a bitter smile since he thought that it would be a pain in his butt, but he still asked, "What do you need me to arrange?"

With a shake of my head, I said, "I don’t need anything arranged. This is something that I’ll be doing on my own, so I’ll be leaving for a bit."

Before anyone else could say anything, Ariel grabbed my arm and looked up at me to say with puppy dog eyes, "Where are you going? Are you leaving us behind?"

The ’us’ that she was referring to was herself and our son.

However, I just calmly said, "The only way to observe nature in its most natural form is to become one with nature. This is something that I can only do if I’m alone."

She still didn’t seem to agree with this when I put it like that, so I explained what I had in mind.

When they heard everything that I said, they looked at me as if I had gone crazy.

However, I felt that this was a very feasible idea and that it would give me many benefits if I went through with it.
