The way that he did this made it clear that he knew what this button was, but I didn’t like the way that he said this.
After all, with my handsome face, did I really look like some kind of criminal?
So for him to assume that I was part of this criminal organization just because I had this button from it, it really did leave a sour taste in my mouth.
"What do you know about this Tide Brotherhood?" I ignored what he said as I asked this.
The boss looked at me with a strange look on his face when he heard this.
After all, the way that I asked this was as if I had nothing to do with the Tide Brotherhood. But as far as the boss was concerned, he was almost certain that I was a part of this group.
Which was why he couldn’t understand what I was doing right now.
In the end, he chose to go along with what I was doing. While he had no idea why I was acting this way, it didn’t really matter to him.
The only thing that mattered was keeping all his parts intact.
So that was why he gave me all the information that he had about this Tide Brotherhood.
The Tide Brotherhood was one of the largest underground organizations that was in the Merman Kingdom, so it wasn’t as if this was information that only he had. However, it turned out that the boss had a connection to the Tide Brotherhood.
Though this connection wasn’t what one thought it would be.
"I was planning on joining them, but I never had the chance before..." The boss didn’t finish what he was saying, but the way that he looked at me made it clear what he was implying.
I just looked at him with a faint smile before saying, "So you have a method of contacting them?"
The boss hesitated for a few seconds before shaking his head to say, "I don’t have a way to contact them, but I have a few connections among the younger members. They were supposed to connect me to one of the young bosses so I could get their backing."
With a nod, I said, "Give me all that information. I’ll decide what we do with it."
The boss had no choice but to give up all that information that he had.
Once that was over, I asked, "Is there anything else about the Tide Brotherhood that you’re not telling me?"
He just calmly shook his head, but his gaze turned to the others that were in this room.
Seeing this, I realized that I had been ignoring a resource that I could have been taking advantage of.
The ones that were locked in this dungeon were all corrupt nobles and merchants. These were the kinds of people that would regularly associate with an organization like the Tide Brotherhood.
So there was no doubt that they would have the information that I wanted.
Perhaps, they might even have more than what I wanted.
"Let’s make this a game then."
The faces of the others in this room turned ugly when they heard this before they glared at the boss. If the boss hadn’t said anything, then the attention wouldn’t have been turned to them.
But it wasn’t as if they had the time to complain about this.
A simple wave of my hand after my words fell was all that it took to create the water scissors that surrounded these people. When these water scissors appeared, they really had no choice but to spill their guts.
It turned out that they had far more than I expected.
The corruption that these people had engaged in was much deeper than one thought and they had more connections than even what I expected.
With these connections, it would be easy for me to approach the Tide Brotherhood.
Though what I would get out of these connections was still something that had to be seen.
When it was over, I waved my hand and made all of those water scissors disappear.
Though there were looks of relief on their faces, it didn’t seem like they were happy about the way that they were treated. Only it wasn’t as if they could do anything since they were prisoners in the first place.
After coming out of the cell, the royal guard captain said with a bitter look on his face, "Can you please not cause any big incidents?"
"I can’t promise anything." I just said in a calm voice, though I did narrow my eyes slightly to look at the royal guard captain.
In the first place, it should have been his duty and the duty of all the royal guards to ensure the peace of the Merman Kingdom. So for him to say something like this...
It wasn’t that I doubted the ability or the loyalty of the royal guards since I had seen it for myself.
The only possibility was that they were already preparing to do something during this time and they didn’t want anything to ruin it. That was why he was hoping that I wouldn’t cause any big problems for them.
But I honestly didn’t know how deep this would go, so I couldn’t guarantee anything.
In the end, the royal guard captain just gave a sigh and sent me out of the royal castle.
Though as I was leaving, I could tell that there were two more presences that were following behind me. It seemed like they had sent people to follow me just in case anything happened.
Though the fact that I only felt two presences meant that they had confidence that I would be able to handle anything that came at me, or there were those that were much better hidden than these two.
These two were just the ones that were showing me to tell me that there was someone following me.
"It doesn’t matter, it’s too late for them to stop this."
