"This is your first case."

I was surprised when I heard this since I thought that they would keep harassing me a bit longer, but it turned out that they couldn’t keep it up for long.

After three days of tossing all of the paperwork to me, they finally stopped doing that.

It wasn’t that hard to guess why they stopped all of a sudden.

It was simple because the quality of the work was too good.

While it might sound like I was bragging, the truth of the matter was that the work that I did was on a different level from the work that was normally done. This was in part because of my experience with the Land Development Department.

In that place, I had already gotten the experience that I needed to fill out paperwork like this perfectly. Which was why I had no problem filling out everything that they put in front of me.

Because it was on a different level, it meant that it was at a higher level than it normally was.

With everyone suddenly getting better at paperwork like this, it was only natural that it would raise suspicions. If this continued for a long time, then it was only natural that they would suffer from being exposed for their way of suppressing me.

So that was why they had no choice but to assign me a proper case.

Since they were assigning me cases, at the very least they were treating me like a detective. However, I wasn’t surprised to see that the case that they assigned me was nothing more than a cold case.

This was the kind of case that no one would have been able to solve because of how few clues there were.

So the reason that they assigned this to me wasn’t because they had faith in me, but rather because they wanted to see me fail.

However, it wasn’t as if I was going to let this get me down.

While others might not be able to solve this case, that didn’t mean that I wasn’t able to solve this case.

"Thanks, I’ll take care of this."

It wasn’t just the lead detective alone that glared at me after hearing me say this, the rest of them all glared at me as if they were just hoping that I would fail.

Still, I didn’t let them get to me as I took the case file and walked out of the office.

From behind me, I could hear what they were saying behind my back.

"Who does he think he is?"

"Just because he’s good at paperwork, he’s letting it get to his head?"

"I bet he won’t last a single week."

Regardless of what they said, I knew that the truth of the matter was that they were envious of me. The achievement of becoming a detective at this age was something that none of them had been able to achieve.

Which was why they all wanted me to fail since they were envious of my talent.

None of that mattered to me since the only thing that I was here for was to experience what it was like to be a detective. Though it wasn’t as if it would be interesting to let myself be fired like this.

Following the directions on the case file, I arrived at the scene of the crime.

It was still being guarded by the normal officers since this was a recent crime, but it wasn’t hard to tell that they weren’t really enthusiastic about this. It was clear that they didn’t think that anyone would be able to solve this case.

Not to mention that they were a bit disappointed when they saw me as well.

It was the same as the detectives, they were judging me because of my age.

One look at the scene of the crime was more than enough to tell me why they didn’t have any hope at all.

"Where did all this blood come from?"

Even though I had already read about it in the case file, it was something else seeing it with my own two eyes.

From ceiling to floor, this entire place was covered in blood.

It was almost as if blood was seeping out from the very seams of the walls.

Not to mention that this amount of blood was more than the blood inside of ten people.

It was no wonder they thought that no one would be able to solve this case since everything that could be found would have already been contaminated by all of this blood.

After looking around this area for a bit, I knew that it was useless to keep trying to find anything with my eyes alone.

The only way that I would be able to find anything was if I used my divine energy.

But it was different from before.

In this place, there were those that recognized divine energy and would even be able to sense it. So it wasn’t as if I could use divine energy all of a sudden or that would be like exposing myself.

Which was why the first thing that I did was create an area with my domain.

This was an area that I had absolute control over, so it wasn’t as if the divine energy would be able to escape from this place.

It was only then that I released my divine energy to scan this area.

At first, I couldn’t help knitting my brows.

After all, I couldn’t find a single thing even though I had released my divine energy to scan the area.

However, I didn’t believe that this was possible since there was no reason for them to spread all this blood across this room. So there had to be something that was hiding under all of this blood.

It took a while, but I was able to find it in the end.

Though I had to admit that I was a bit disappointed by what I found.
