The Divine Word Legion resolved to rescue Lord Emkain despite confirming Du Saka's multilayered trap with ambushes and hidden mechas. An Ruoxue brought Admiral Su Ming, who devised a plan: Dikufa intercepts reinforcements, Coronan launches the frontal assault, and Su Ming counters the subterranean forces with his troops. A micro bomb in Emkain raised concerns, but Dr. Oliga promised shielding devices, supported by an insider.

"Then there’s no problem. You all must utilize every available channel to thoroughly expose the Fanluo God Emperor’s wicked deeds and reveal all their actions publicly. I’m certain people possess hearts, and upon viewing those savage acts, they’ll surely rebel against them. At that point, their spirits will crumble, slashing their battle strength."

Su Ming directed the team firmly.

"Understood!"

Coronan and the rest nodded eagerly.

"We’ll wrap up this command session now. Everyone, get moving, and we can adjust if anything shifts later."

Su Ming announced to everyone.

"Alright!"

Coronan and the others rose and departed swiftly, rushing to set up the plan.

Before long, just Su Ming and An Ruoxue remained in the command center.

An Ruoxue grinned at Su Ming.

"I never imagined your leadership skills were this impressive. You orchestrated such a huge rescue mission with mere brief instructions."

"It’s nothing special; I was just too idle to lead before."

Su Ming answered smilingly.

"Really?"

"Absolutely, I’d top the Command System test without a doubt."

"Haha, I buy it. Join me for dinner tonight; let’s eat together."

"Sure!"

"Follow me, I’ll set up a room for your rest."

An Ruoxue guided Su Ming out.

Moments later, An Ruoxue brought Su Ming to the room beside her own.

She unlocked the door and passed the room card to Su Ming.

"What do you think of this room?"

"It’s good."

Su Ming responded offhandedly after a quick scan.

"I’m leaving now; rest up."

An Ruoxue exited the room.

Su Ming checked the clock—three hours remained. He swiftly stripped and entered the bathroom. It was expansive, elegantly fitted, featuring a shower and tub separated by frosted glass.

Splish splash~

Su Ming began his shower.

Abruptly, the door swung open.

Su Ming caught the sound and called out right away.

"Who’s there?"

"Relax, only me."

Right then, An Ruoxue stepped in with a fruit tray, her gaze lighting up at the sight of Su Ming under the spray.

"How’d you enter?"

Su Ming questioned, puzzled.

"I’ve got a duplicate room card!"

An Ruoxue replied cheekily.

"Fine."

Su Ming saw no point in debating An Ruoxue.

"I’ll set the fruit tray on the table for you."

An Ruoxue declared, flashing a sly grin.

She quietly slid open a drawer, grabbed the electric glass remote, and hit the button.

In a flash, the frosted panel became a one-way mirror, exposing the bathroom interior plainly.

An Ruoxue watched Su Ming shower intently, her eyes sparkling with astonishment.

"Wow, eight-pack abs!"

"What’re you saying?"

Su Ming inquired as he shampooed.

"Nothing much, just wondering if you’d like help washing?"

An Ruoxue grinned slyly.

"No thanks, I’ve got it."

Su Ming rejected instantly.

"No shyness needed; I’ve seen you naked countless times when you were out cold... too many to tally."

An Ruoxue teased with a naughty smile, heading to the bathroom.

"Stop fooling around; lines must be respected."

Su Ming muttered irritably.

"Haha, see how flustered you got? I’m only delivering a bathrobe."

An Ruoxue laughed lightly.

"Pass it through the door."

Su Ming cracked the door open and extended his arm.

"Okay!"

An Ruoxue approached and gave him the bathrobe.

Su Ming snatched the garment and slammed the door shut fast.

"Haha!"

An Ruoxue muffled her joyful laughter with her hand.

...

Shortly after, Su Ming emerged clothed and eyed An Ruoxue with mild exasperation.

"Could you tone down the wildness?"

"Got it, dinner’s set. Come eat with me."

An Ruoxue gazed at Su Ming expectantly.

"Alright!"

Su Ming agreed without hesitation.

...

Soon, the pair reached a cozy dining area.

It featured custom decor, the table laden with exquisite dishes, a sunflower arrangement, red wine bottle, and fine goblets.

Once seated, An Ruoxue uncorked the wine, filling glasses with rich red liquid for Su Ming and herself, then said with a smile.

"This toast celebrates our reunion."

"Alright."

Su Ming lifted his glass and toasted An Ruoxue’s.

They downed the wine swiftly.

An Ruoxue set her glass aside and spoke emotionally.

"Truthfully, I still feel this is all a dream."

"Sigh~, tough luck on our era. Wartime encounters are heaven’s design."

Su Ming’s mindset was gradually turning from thirst for battle toward yearning for tranquility.

"Haha, then cheers to destiny."

An Ruoxue refilled the wine, lifted her glass, and spoke up.

"Mmm."

Su Ming lifted his own glass as well, clinked it against hers, and drained it in a single gulp.

By now, after two glasses of wine, An Ruoxue's cheeks held a faint blush; she propped her chin on one hand, glancing sideways at Su Ming.

"Why are you staring at me?"

A hint of discomfort stirred in Su Ming as he spoke.

"No need to be afraid, I’m not going to eat you. Besides, Chuyu isn’t here."

A teasing smile played on An Ruoxue's lips as she replied.

Su Ming's face darkened at her words, and he turned to An Ruoxue.

"I recently went to the Lost Star Sea to look for her."

"What happened?"

Detecting the heaviness in Su Ming's tone, An Ruoxue felt her heart clench sharply.

"She disappeared, I couldn’t find her. But she fulfilled her wish, I found her father’s relic and gave it to her mother."

Su Ming seized the wine bottle, filled a glass, and tossed it back in one go.
