Shadows of the Deep Space Chapter 1740 - 547: Rescue Operation (Part 5)

"That’s great, she finally fulfilled her wish."
As those words reached her ears, a flicker of sorrow crossed An Ruoxue's face, though she forced out a faint smile while responding.
From her early years right up to now, true companions had been rare in her life, Lin Chuyu standing out as her most intimate friend.
"Mm."
Su Ming gave a gentle nod.
An Ruoxue lifted the wine bottle, filling a glass for Su Ming and one for herself, then declared.
"Su Ming, let’s toast to Chuyu. Perhaps one day, she’ll suddenly come back to find us."
"Mm, to Chuyu!"
Su Ming nodded, lifted his glass, and proclaimed.

Within the Central Control Room of Semikani Planet's Production Base.
Du Saka lounged in the command chair, his eyes locked on the projections in front of him.
The display captured the central plaza scene, where Emkain dangled from a cross, his aged visage deathly pale, lips cracked and dry, appearing utterly frail.
Naturally, Emkain wouldn't die so simply, thanks to the IV-type Gene Potion coursing through him. Even at his advanced age, his body outperformed ordinary folks by far.
Just then, Fei Alu rushed inside and urgently informed Du Saka.
"Lord Du Saka, things look bad."
"What’s going on?"
Du Saka responded calmly.
"The leftover forces from the King’s Army and Divine Word Army are wildly disseminating tales of Fanluo God Emperor's atrocities and ours, using images, videos, flyers, and broadcasts everywhere. The masses at the bottom are on the verge of erupting, and it's hitting our troops hard too."
Fei Alu reported in a panic.
"Isn’t that excellent news?"
Du Saka remarked with glee.
"Huh? Lord, how is this good?"
"Why not? Their frantic efforts to spread rumors show they're backed into a corner, gearing up for one last desperate push. We can net them all in a single swoop. Without this propaganda, it'd mean they're not biting, and our public spectacle isn't landing."
"Lord, your wisdom shines!"
Fei Alu hastily flattered.
"Fine, ensure your side is fully ready—no slip-ups allowed later. You know our precarious position better than most; a failure here, and Lord Fanluo God Emperor will show no mercy."
Du Saka issued a stern caution.
"Lord, rest assured, we've set everything up perfectly—they won't escape alive!"
Fei Alu assured boldly.
"Perfect! Now we just kick back and enjoy the spectacle."
Excitement lit up Du Saka's features.

Two days passed.
Front-line defense sector of Semikani Planet.
In the Central Control Room of Black Peak Small Fortress—a massive two-hundred-kilometer-wide stronghold shaped like a mountain, forged from dark metal and bristling with launch bays and anti-missile cannons.
A middle-aged officer in Vice Admiral garb, marked by a centipede scar across his brow, occupied the command seat, his gaze intently fixed on the scanning display with grave intensity.
"Lord Hoxiu’er, the execution time approaches, yet those stragglers from the Divine Word Army and Old King’s Army haven't appeared; looks like they've backed down."
At that instant, a slender young man with a sycophantic grin offered the compliment.
"Hmph, vigilance breeds survival; maintain full alertness right up to the end! A blunder letting them breach and rescue would have us executing ourselves before superiors even act."
Hoxiu’er admonished his deputy Langman.
"Yes."
Deputy Langman acknowledged tensely.
Abruptly, the scanner blared a shrill warning, as a swarm of red blips flooded the screen.
The visual scanner projected a clear image.
It revealed the Holy Shadow Fortress spearheading a vast mecha fleet, charging forward with ferocious momentum.
"Old King’s Army! They’re actually attacking."
Deputy Langman blurted out in shock.
"Damn them, relay my command: all units to battle stations, halt their advance no matter the cost; cowards get shot on sight!"
Hoxiu’er bellowed furiously.
"Yes!"
Deputy Langman snapped to attention.
...
Amid the starry void.
Holy Shadow Fortress drove its forces onward with unstoppable force, swiftly closing into firing range.
A dazzling beam erupted from Holy Shadow Fortress's primary cannon, while panels across its hull slid open to expose lines of missile tubes.
Black Peak Small Fortress's main gun and array of defenses powered up in response.
Whiz!
Pillars of annihilation lanced out from both sides at once.
Then a storm of beams and missiles crashed down like an endless deluge.
Boom!
The main cannon strike slammed into Black Peak Small Fortress, twisting its Energy Barrier to the breaking point!
Nearby defenses exploded in clusters.
A keen observer would spot that the defensive armaments here paled in number compared to those on Saint Mandy Planet before.
This was understandable too, since Su Ming and his allies had virtually obliterated most defensive armaments on Saint Mandy Planet. Add to that Fanluo God Emperor's expedition hauling away vast quantities of weapons, and the defenses here had plummeted dramatically.
Right then, the Holy Shadow Fortress’s Energy Barrier surface erupted in a brilliant solar flare and a cascade of vibrant fireworks, sending out rippling waves.
Yet the Holy Shadow Fortress didn't pause from the assault; it fired back intensely while surging forward at high speed.
Inside the Black Peak Small Fortress command room.
Langman Deputy's expression shifted faintly as he informed Hoxiu’er.
"Lord, they’re breaking through towards us."
"Damn it! I’ll leave this to you, I’m leading a team for interception!"
Hoxiu’er shot up from the command chair and declared.
"Yes!"
Langman responded swiftly.
Moments later, the Black Peak Small Fortress activated a series of boarding exits one after another.
Whiz!
A towering fifty-meter Mecha boasting a tiger-shaped head with two green gem eyes, forged completely from gray-white metal, chest marked by a holy emblem, clutching a gray long spear, back fitted with two pairs of Mechanical Light Wings, shoulders decorated with two Red Moons, one Black Moon, and countless stars—the V Generation Mecha·Light Fang (low version)—burst forth alongside three Silver Executors and a swarm of Mechas.
