"Dream on."
Otaine gnashed his teeth, spitting out curses.
"Utterly ungrateful, no words left. Fager, finish them off!"
Fergus gestured toward Fager, barking the command.
Fager swiftly controlled the Demon Hunter, charging ferociously at Otaine while lifting his blade for a vicious strike.
Otaine pushed his mecha to the limit as well, fully powering the Lord of Lost and swinging its weapon to clash head-on.
The two weapons smashed together.
Boom~
Sparks erupted in all directions.
The tremendous impact forced the Lord of Lost backward repeatedly, while a faint crack formed on its held weapon.
Spotting the danger, Jikol acted fast from the flank, maneuvering the Holy Light Blade and slashing with its dark golden edge toward Fager.
"Annoying pests!"
Fager piloted his mecha wildly, shoving Otaine aside, lifting his arm to parry Jikol’s strike, then charging a potent energy ray from its mouth and firing point-blank.
Jikol’s gaze sharpened; with a rapid Light Speed Fold Flash, he disappeared in an instant, dodging just in time!
Swish~
The intense black ray struck the far-off spectator stands without delay.
Boom!
A massive blast exploded, engulfing a whole segment of the platform as countless onlookers vaporized.
"Ah!"
Spectators near the blast’s edge suffered, blood streaming from their senses as they crumpled down.
Yet certain wild, dauntless viewers, beholding the chaos, yelled in thrill.
"Cool!"
"Awesome!"
"Kill!"
...
Zhang Yi and Ankaga caught those shouts, left dumbfounded, muttering under their breath.
"These folks are nuts, cheering in a moment like this."
Su Ming frowned deeply, glancing over at Novlin’s group.
Novlin, Alfaku, Anton Lu, and Hayak—the four Deputy Corps Commanders—directed their teams in wiping out Vice City Lord Max and the Black Death Society’s forces.
Of these four leaders, just Novlin handled a Fourth Generation Mecha·Fierce Beast; the rest used imitation V Generation Mechas, all rather obsolete designs.
Luckily, the Black Death Society’s machines were equally inferior.
Now, additional platforms emerged across the arena, bringing more of City Lord Otaine’s troops into the fray.
They rushed Fergus’s side, unleashing energy beams upon them.
"A bunch of trash!"
Caught off-guard briefly, Fergus took a hit, then furiously drove his mecha forward, cleaving through one enemy unit in a single sweep.
The arena’s clash intensified wildly.
.....
Meanwhile, chaos engulfed Lost City too.
Lost guards clashed with gang thugs across various districts.
Beams and missiles hammered structures.
Boom!
Deafening blasts rang out nonstop, fires raging through the streets.
Comm channels buzzed endlessly with furious rants.
"You lunatics, why hit me? I’m Mountain Ghost Gang!"
"Isn’t Mountain Ghost Gang tight with Fager?"
"Bullshit! We didn’t turn traitor."
"Then who’s shooting at me?"
"Black Death Society’s on you!"
"Damn, who the hell’s the foe here!"
...
"Everyone hear this: Black Death Society and Vice City Lord Medot have turned traitor."
A captain bellowed in rage.
Suddenly, hordes of biker crews stormed the commercial district, hurling firebombs into shops.
Mobs armed with Blast Guns blasted away at street-facing stores.
Bang bang~
Glass panes shattered in waves.
"Brothers, loot everything!"
.....
Hit by this abrupt turmoil, Lost City dwellers grabbed weapons from their dwellings, firing at any intruder without mercy.
In moments, the whole metropolis spiraled into frenzy.
...
Beyond Lost Star, amid the stars.
Swarms of Level Four Battleships and thick mecha formations assaulted Lost Star anew, bombarding it with rays and projectiles.
Boom boom boom~
Lost Star’s shield wavered under the barrage, yet stabilized swiftly.
Just then, Mist Star’s crust cracked open in spots.
Hive-like machines revealed themselves sequentially.
At once, the honeycomb mechanisms glowed brilliantly.
Swish swish!
Energy bolts poured down like a storm, targeting Lost Path Army troops and vessels.
Boom boom boom~
Explosions bloomed like endless fireworks!
"Ah!"
...
Open comms overflowed with agonized screams.
Tons of mechas pulled back in panic.
Within Star Destroyer·Lost’s main bridge.
"Useless, Lord Mi Wei—we can’t pierce it!"
An operator cried out in terror to Mi Wei.
"Whether possible or not, advance! Retreat is forbidden!"
Mi Wei roared, his eyes bloodshot.
...
In that instant, the Tower of Mist targeted Star Destroyer·Lost, the whole structure surging with fierce bolts of gray lightning.
A crimson alert box appeared suddenly.
"Warning: Ship locked by Tower of Mist!"
…
"Terrible news, Lord Mi Wei—we’ve been locked!"
The operator cried out in terror.
Mi Wei hadn’t even replied when the Tower of Mist unleashed its might, a horrifying beam of gray lightning tearing across the starlit void and slamming into Star Destroyer·Lost’s energy shield.
The shield warped dramatically, crackling with bursts of electricity across its surface.
Right away, Star Destroyer·Lost jolted wildly, error messages flashing nonstop on internal systems as the ceiling lights blinked chaotically.
At that point, multiple red alert boxes emerged.
"Warning: Energy barrier strength down to thirty-six percent!"
"Warning: Internal devices suffering interference."
…
"Lord Mi Wei! The energy barrier won’t hold much longer!"
The operator yelled in panic.
"Damn it—retreat now!"
Mi Wei commanded, his expression dark and furious.
During the construction of the Tower of Mist, vast resources had been poured into the Land of Lost, with no one foreseeing that this very weapon would one day turn against them.
