Rise of The Demon General Chapter 883. Fighting a Mid Deity Beast

Bo Wu found himself being stared at by two of Ling Dau’s heads. One of them snapped at him. He turned into a shadow and moved away. The other head opened its jaws and unleashed fiery breath.

Bo Wu’s shadow moved very fast, but the breath attack covered a wide area. The flames washed over a part of Bo Wu’s shadow. His shadow form was excellent against physical attacks, but energy attacks could still harm him. He yelped as he became tangible again. The upper part of his metallic body had become black from getting burned.

Ling Dau’s other heads were busy with a different opponent. The giant altered beast had also resisted the repelling shockwave. It flew back and engaged Ling Dau without fear. Ling Dau harrumphed and swung one of his heads. His long neck crashed into the altered beast, sending him spiralling in the air.

Ling Dau was astonished. He could judge from the impact that the altered beast’s body was extremely hard. The silver plates covering its body weren’t just for decoration.

The altered beast was made by Dao Su using two spirit beasts as its main components. One was the silver-clad titan, which Amon received for exchanging resources with the Hyanids. The silver-clad titan was a more powerful version of the steel-clad titan, which Amon fought during the worthiness trial. The silver-clad titan was a Mid Primordial Beast. Like its cousin, the steel-clad titan, durability was its strength. It could survive attacks from enemies much stronger than it.

The other component was the Diamond Wyvern, which was a Higher Primordial Beast. It lived within Mo Wang’s territory. Amon defeated the beast while roaming the place after Mo Wang went into hiding. He then had Dao Su use its carcass and fuse it with a silver-clad titan, before infusing the soul of a Mammoth Stage cultivator, whom Amon captured from one of the Devotion Faction members.

The combination of the two primordial beasts, augmented by Dao Su’s expertise, resulted in a beast more powerful than any one of them. Its power level was above typical High Primordial Beasts and was close to reaching the power level of a Lower Deity Beast. This wyvern-titan beast was the most powerful altered beast Dao Su had created, hence why Amon chose it to be among the combatants to face a Deity Beast.

And because both its component beasts excelled in defensive abilities, it could survive even a direct blow from a Deity Beast. That’s why Ling Dau’s blow didn’t damage the wyvern-titan beast. It flapped the wyvern’s wings on its back and stopped its body from the uncontrolled spiralling. It then lunged back and punched using its titan’s arm.

Ling Dau was offended. His head swung again, smacking the wyvern-titan beast and sending it into a second spiralling motion. This time, however, he immediately followed up with another attack from his other head, which discharged a blinding white breath.

His blast breath, filled with the light elements, washed over the wyvern-titan beast. He expected his breath attack to finish the altered beast despite its high defense. However, after he ended his blast breath, the wyvern-titan beast remained intact. It looked different, though. Its skin appeared rigid and glistened as it reflected light, like a diamond.

This was the Diamond Wyvern’s ability. While the wyvern’s base defense was already high, it could trigger a condition where it hardened its skin, turning it diamond-like. In this state, it was near invulnerable. The drawback was that it became stiff as a rock. It couldn’t move, so it couldn’t use this ability while attacking. It was a pure defensive move.

The wyvern-titan beast’s diamond skin slowly reverted to normal. It flapped its wings and flew back toward Ling Dau.

Ling Dau was annoyed by his opponent’s resilience, but something else interrupted him. The Titan Battle Puppet used its propeller jet and shot back at him like a rocket. Since a battle puppet didn’t have an aura, he couldn’t detect it like the other opponents. It managed to reach him while he was busy with Bo Wu and the wyvern-titan beast.

The Titan Battle Puppet crashed into one of his necks, with two fists forward. The force drove his neck back. The pellets on those fists exploded. The explosion generated a force that threw his neck back even further.

The explosion couldn’t break through his scales, but it still caused him discomfort because it was as if someone was twisting one of his necks. He wasn’t hurt, but he was upset. The neighboring head from the one that was punched shot down and bit at the Titan Battle Puppet.

A barrier appeared around the Titan Battle Puppet before Ling Dau’s jaws closed on it. The barrier held for only a second, then the sharp teeth pierced through. The Titan Battle Puppet used its arms and legs to prop the mouth, preventing it from shutting. The throat inside that mouth began to glow.

"Release it!" Di Ying performed a full-body blow on Ling Dau.

In her dragon form, she had the largest body size among the combatants Amon sent to face Ling Dau, but she was still dwarfed by Ling Dau. Her body blows only budged him a little, but she followed it up by grabbing the neck of the head that was clamping down on the Titan Battle Puppet. Her claws also couldn’t pierce through Ling Dau’s scales, but her assault caused enough interruption to loosen his bite.

Lin Li burst in at this moment. She crashed into the trapped Titan Battle Puppet, producing a wind explosion that threw both of them away, just before Ling Dau released his blast breath. The icy breath that could freeze everything burst forth, but its target had already escaped.

"You children truly don’t know the fire you are playing with!" Ling Dau exclaimed.

He spun his body. His six necks and tails turned into a hurricane. He slammed into everyone in his vicinity, including the Cryanids, which never stopped swarming him. He sent them flying away, except Di Ying, who stubbornly clung to him by clawing and biting. In his anger, two of his heads bit on Di Ying’s long body. Di Ying’s scales weren’t as hard as his. His teeth easily sank into her flesh, drawing blood.

Di Ying finally let go after feeling the pain. She couldn’t help but let out a pained scream.

Ling Dau’s other heads were about to deliver bites as well, but a strong burden assailed him. He found it difficult to move. One of his heads looked for the source and found that it was the deed of two Hyanids.

Krassazh and Surressh used their gravity arcane arts to encumber Ling Dau.

"Fuck off!" Ling Dau exclaimed. He fired another blast breath. One filled with gravity elements as well.

Krassazh grabbed Surressh and dodged the breath. Everything the breath passed through seemed to collapse due to intense pressure. If they were hit, they wouldn’t be unscathed.

When Ling Dau’s movements slowed, the wyvern-titan beast and Bo Wu flew in. Each of them struck at the heads that bit Di Ying. All the while, Lin Li delivered wind blasts to the eyes of those same heads. This finally forced Ling Dau to release his bites. Di Ying hurriedly broke away.

"Remember our mission!" Lin Li told Di Ying. "We only need to distract him, not defeat him. Don’t take unnecessary risks. Leave that to the altered beast, the Titan Battle Puppet, and those cryanids."

Di Ying didn’t need to be reminded. She had suffered wounds for this lesson. She didn’t have much experience fighting, after all. She now understood that she could easily lose her life against such an opponent if she was not careful.

While almost everyone was busy dealing with Ling Dau, Yao Ai never stopped chasing Hai Di.

Yao Ai laughed as she used her Finger of Death at Hai Di, who tried to maintain a distance. "Haha! Senior Hai Di, this is like a repeat of our last encounter. I remember I also chased you like this while you tried your best to save your miserable life. How pathetic it is for someone like you, who is known as the strongest domain lord, to experience this again?"

"Bitch! The result will be the same as last time. You won’t succeed in taking my life!" Hai Di exclaimed.

He was panting. He had expended much energy in this battle. Not to mention, he had suffered wounds. The worst was the cut on his chest, caused by the ice blade from the female Hyanid. Krassazh’s Encumbering Snakes, though no longer affecting his body, still caused internal wounds when the gravity energy invaded his body. In other words, he was close to his limits.

He had hoped that forcing Ling Dau to come out of hiding would turn the tide. He didn’t expect Yao Ai to join this battle, bringing many capable combatants with her. Nevertheless, he only needed to survive until Ling Dau finished the others. Of that, he was confident. He knew nobody here was a match to that Deity Beast.

He then heard an explosion, followed by a scream from someone he knew well. He turned and saw Hai Lao. Amon had stabbed a dagger into his son’s chest.
