Lolth and Gabriel shared a passionate moment, revealing a past relationship. Later, they joined a team of future gods, including Theia, preparing to travel through a massive Gate. Gabriel led them on a mission to extract Dimensional Stones and find survivors from a world threatened by an unknown enemy, using a machine he built. They entered a nightmarish alien landscape with strange creatures and were immediately attacked by flying entities.

The Otherworldly Gate opened into a bizarre world unlike anything I had ever seen before.

The sky stretched out in a deep, blood-red color. Giant eyeballs floated high above, blinking slowly as they watched everyone who entered. Massive spires of jagged red stone rose endlessly into that crimson sky. Rivers of boiling acid, lava, and molten magma exploded and erupted from titanic volcanoes that towered over the landscape. The ground itself was nothing but arid, cracked stone. The "plants" that grew here were strange, fleshy growths arranged in weird geometric patterns, each one topped with crystalized flowers that pulsed with faint light.

From a vast sea of purple slime, a giant whale-like creature with deep red skin emerged. Lava flowed through the glowing cracks across its body. Massive horns crowned its head, and it swam using two enormous human-like arms before diving back beneath the surface.

As the large machine began to move through this alien world, the group spotted giant flying creatures high above. They looked like massive eyes with six wings and tiny dangling legs. The moment they noticed the machine, they began firing concentrated lasers toward it.

"They’re attacking!" Lolth panicked. "Should we fight back?!"

"Relax," Gabriel said calmly while clicking several buttons on a control panel. "I’ve already prepared for this."

A shimmering barrier instantly appeared around the giant machine. The vehicle itself resembled a long metallic centipede made of pure white metal. Moments later it generated a mirage-like illusion that allowed it to melt into the surroundings and completely disappear from view.

The six-winged eyeballs blinked once in confusion. They scratched their heads with their tiny legs before simply flying away, no longer interested.

Okay... so this place is like an alien world filled with alien monsters? The energy they had discovered here felt completely supernatural, and the sky itself made it clear this was not part of the normal universe.

There were no stars visible anywhere. The land seemed to stretch infinitely in every direction.

This was definitely not a "planet" as I understood them.

The memories shifted once more. The scene changed from one second to the next.

Explosions erupted across the battlefield as the "Awakened" that Gabriel had brought with him fought against a sudden army of attacking creatures.

These monsters were warped and bizarre in ways that differed completely from the monsters I had seen in Terrarium.

It was genuinely hard to describe them.

They looked like multiple beings fused together into single forms. Some of them made no logical sense at all — walking on their eyes while seeing through their hands.

There were also several humanoid-like monsters mixed among them.

Behind the fighting group, the giant machine continued drilling into a huge crater filled with glowing crystals, extracting more and more of them without pause.

"I’ve developed a spatial storage system using the gem I originally brought back. With that and this machine, we can take the entire crater’s worth of stones with us!" Gabriel shouted. "Keep fighting! We can do this, team!"

"Are you kidding me?! These things are tanking the lasers!"

"If you keep relying only on laser weapons, you’re going to get eaten eventually!"

"Shut up, what do you even—"

"Look out!"

Suddenly something resembling a giant mass of writhing tentacles with sharp tusks charged forward. It attacked the man who had been complaining — the same young man who had been speaking with Theia earlier.

A blur of purple lightning appeared in front of him at the last possible moment, shielding him from the deadly strike.

It was Lolth. Her powerful scythe absorbed her internal energies, causing electricity to surge wildly around her body.

"Clair! I owe you one!" the man muttered as he quickly stepped back.

"Stop being such a dumbass and step back if you can’t fight properly!" she snapped. "Natalia, to my side!"

"Fine," Theia answered. Her true name was Natalia. Her hands began glowing brightly with pure light as she smiled proudly while floating in midair. "At the end of the day, we Espers are superior!"

She fired dozens of blinding beams from her hands, shooting down the monsters one after another and vaporizing them into nothing but cinders.

At the same time Lolth followed up, swinging her scythe with graceful precision. She moved almost as if she were disappearing and reappearing from one spot to another.

Surprisingly, these two girls worked amazingly well together...

Had they been friends even before all of this?

"Clair, you’ve gotten a lot better!"

"I’d like to say the same, Natalie, but you’re really slowing us down."

"Tsk! Shut up!"

There was even time for light banter in the middle of the chaos.

Wow. Seeing this really puts another perspective on these beings who now stand so high above everyone else.

It almost humbles them a little... yet at the same time it only makes me wonder even more about what kind of tragedy must have happened later to turn them into what they eventually became.

As they continued fighting, the crater was slowly being emptied of its crystals by the relentless mining machine.

Then...

The ground beneath them trembled violently and exploded upward. Everyone was sent flying through the air as a massive mutant-like creature emerged from the depths.

"Fuck, a Digger Mutant!" Lolth shouted. "Step back!!!"

The monster stood over twenty meters tall and let out a deafening roar.

Its roar carried some kind of psychic mind wave that nearly caused everyone present to pass out on the spot. Lolth managed to resist thanks to her stronger aura, yet she still began bleeding from her eyes, nose, and ears.

"Gabriel! We have to fall back! This is a Titan-Class Mutant! We cannot deal with this thing!"

"A-Another minute! Just buy me another minute and I’ll get us all out of here! With this...! With this we can build dozens of vessels and travel the stars! We will be... we will become gods!"

Everyone looked at him as if he had gone completely insane. Yet the moment he spoke about becoming gods, something awakened deep within them. Their selfishness, their greed, and their raw human nature flared brightly. They all attacked the massive creature with renewed fury.
