"Hm?!" The Lichlord gasped, his mouth hanging wide open as a strange figure materialized out of thin air. She radiated both divine and demonic power, an ancient being that should not have existed in this world.
She appeared both mechanical and organic, a breathtaking biomechanical masterpiece forged from the greatest arts of the gods and the most arcane of ancient magics. Her power surged powerfully, drawn from a deity different from any other god. This unique source granted her immense strength and allowed an ancient entity like her to be not only reborn but to evolve twice over.
Her long blonde and dark red hair waved gently in the wind as her sharp, glowing eyes fixed upon the Lichlord. A pair of mechanical wings shone brightly behind her as she pointed her Divine Heavenly Spear directly at him.
"Monster, your time has come. I have brought forth the Spell that will become your undoing, and your master’s as well!"
"Hah! Whoever you are, you are most exquisite. Let me have you, ancient weapon!!!"
The Lichlord laughed maniacally as his power surged without end. He fed greedily on the death of thousands around him. Every monster that fell, even those completely vaporized, granted him fresh strength. Though their bodies had vanished, their souls remained, forming an endless abyssal sea of roaring ghosts and furious specters.
"Hahahahaha! Although I am not as strong as the bosses on the lower floors, my mastery over death is the most unique and supreme of them all!" The Lichlord cackled, his bony mandibles cracking loudly. "Now let us see who is truly superior here!"
"A sea of ghosts..." the woman murmured. "Well, no matter. Your end is already predestined."
the Lichlord roared.
"I am Nephilim, Guardian Angel of Sylphy, the young Goddess of the System!"
"The what—"
"Eh? What the fu—
In his foolish confidence, the Lichlord was burned alive as blinding holy light descended from the skies. The powerful curses and spells that granted him immunity to damage unraveled instantly. His form, like a fragile fly, exploded into a small burst of darkness and vanished completely.
"It worked as effectively as I imagined," Nephilim said with a satisfied smile. She could feel the powerful Spell Sylphy had created spreading through the air like a Blessing. It served as the perfect counter to Lolth’s Curse, a radiant force that spread like a purifying plague, deeply connected to the System itself.
Empowered by this divine energy, Nephilim charged forward. She flew swiftly from one battlefield to another while the Dwarven King and the Prince watched in complete awe and disbelief, their eyes wide with astonishment.
Explosions of blinding light erupted across the battlefield as entire armies of monsters disappeared in flashes of holy power.
Meanwhile, Zack was in dire straits. He vomited blood and could no longer use his drums effectively. His divine power had only recently awakened after long, grueling training, and it was now running dangerously low. He found himself surrounded by powerful bosses and hordes of monsters. Holding his axes firmly, he fought with everything he had, but he was pushing his body far beyond its limits. He had already battled an army three times larger than the one the previous heroes had faced against the last Demon King.
It was simply too ridiculous.
"Luke... Master Arafunn... Mom..." he coughed, barely avoiding a deadly strike. He transformed into lightning, then smashed the head of a giant cyclops with brutal force. "Haaa...! We have to... ugh...! Get out of here...! This is hell...! Pure hell!"
Monsters poured in endlessly from every direction. It truly felt like hell itself.
Yet could he really give up?
No.
He could not.
Zack clenched his teeth, gripping both axes tightly as he rushed forward. He cleaved through foes left and right, unleashing devastating magic with every swing.
Explosions of thunder and raging winds erupted around him. His beast aura roared to life as giant bear claws tore through everything in his path.
A single tear slipped down his face as he continued fighting. All the resolve he had gained, all the maturity, and all the strength he had built surged through him.
Was he really going to throw it all away now, when he was so close to reuniting with his friends and...
That girl.
The girl he had missed this entire time...
The adorable demon girl he had grown to love so deeply that he could not imagine spending another year without her. She had accepted him with all his flaws and even admired him for them. Because he was strong. Because he was a stubborn brat who never gave up.
He smiled fiercely, his eyebrows furrowed with determination. Just thinking about her filled him with endless strength. Even as his bones ached, his muscles screamed on the verge of tearing, and blood poured from his nose, eyes, and ears, he kept fighting.
For her...
Countless aberrations stood before him. Endless pain and agony awaited along this path. And yet...
Zack refused to surrender.
Spinning rapidly in midair, he descended like a force of nature, transforming into a gigantic tornado of thunder and howling winds.
He shredded hundreds of monsters in seconds. The bosses groaned under the assault, gradually being worn down and damaged. Still, they pushed back with all their might, refusing to yield.
They were no longer mindless creatures.
"Let’s beat him!"
"We must avenge our fallen comrades!"
"Kill this bastard!"
"We won’t give up! We will never suffer that pain and agony again!"
Zack clenched his teeth harder. Golden thunder erupted from his eyes as he reinforced his physical body to its absolute limits. His aura fluctuated wildly before merging completely with him.
Then, he began to transform. Green and golden fur spread across his body. His hands became massive claws, and his head shifted into that of a monstrously powerful giant bear.
He achieved the impossible.
He had inherited this power from the Skinchanger legacy even though he was never one of them and did not possess a single drop of their sacred bloodline. The ability was simply called "Skin Change." In the ancient Skinchanger culture, it meant wearing the skin of a beast one had felled.
Yet Zack’s bear spirit was a creature far weaker than he had become. It was a small inner beast that had grown over time through his own efforts. It was not a monster he had consumed, nor something granted by a supreme bloodline.
What Zack was doing should have been impossible because...
It was all born from nothing but his own hands and relentless effort!
And yet...
