Regression - Second Chance At Life Chapter 349: Meeting Suzaan Again

Adam looks at the familiar face before him and smiles at her.

It’s Suzaan, Isla’s best friend.

Suzaan didn’t expect Isla to bring Adam back.

"Nice to meet you... Again," Adam says with a smile on his face. Knowing that Suzaan isn’t a huge fan of his, he wonders how he should behave around her.

She is, after all, Isla’s best friend, and he won’t torture Isla by making it difficult for her by making her choose between the two, but Adam can’t also allow Suzaan to have her way.

He needs to make her realize that he is now a very important part of Isla’s life and she can’t have any say or involvement in matters which relate to them.

As Adam greeted her with a pleasant smile, Suzaan took her time checking out Adam from head to toe. Like always, she thought Adam was handsome, but she still doesn’t understand the reason for Isla’s intense obsession with him.

It’s not like Adam’s the only incredibly handsome man that has tried to make a move on Isla, but unlike Adam, all of them failed.

Isla could feel the tension in the air, especially from Suzaan. Unlike Adam, Suzaan isn’t good at hiding how she feels.

So she decides to step in and get rid of this awkward silence between Adam and Suzaan.

"Hey, I brought Adam along with me. He is taking me somewhere, so I need to put on something else," Isla says, stepping into the room and signaling Adam to follow her.

Adam doesn’t say a word and just follows Isla into the room, walking past Suzaan.

Suzaan also keeps her eyes on Adam -- her hands folded under her breasts while the judgement in her eyes is ever present.

Adam doesn’t bother confronting her yet; instead, he enters the hotel room and begins looking around.

The place is quite spacious and high-end, which is not surprising given Isla and her band’s status.

"Wait here, I need some time to get ready," Isla says, closing the distance between them and giving a kiss on the cheek.

"And make sure to behave~," She says, giving Suzaan the side eye, hinting at the tension that’s between him and her best friend.

"When have you seen me not behaving?" Adam asks, putting his hand on her waist, pulling her in and planting a peck on Isla’s lip.

Isla bites her lower lip and giggles. Having spent a considerable amount of time with Adam by now, Isla knows Adam never behaves, so his words are basically a white lie. She now only pities her friend for what Adam is about to do to her.

But Isla’s not worried; she doesn’t think Adam would harm her friend; he might just mess with her head a little.

"Behave," Isla says one last time and reluctantly steps away from Adam before heading into the closet to get ready, leaving Adam alone with Suzaan in the living room.

Adam takes his time admiring his girlfriend’s ass as she sways them away from him towards the closet. He then turns to look at Suzaan, who still has her eyes on him.

Adam smiles and begins checking her out from head to toe.

When it comes to looks, Suzaan is nowhere near Isla’s beauty, but she would still be considered fairly attractive by the people.

Her face might not be anywhere near Isla’s comparison, but her body is definitely something that would make people drool, especially those huge breasts, far bigger than Isla’s; her hips are also wider, and her thighs are also thicker. Her legs are not long like Isla’s, but given her body’s proportions, they match her perfectly.

But it’s not Suzaan’s fault to not notice it, as these characteristics are hard to see through without getting to know a person thoroughly.

Done checking her out, Adam makes eye contact with her again before sitting down on the couch and taking his phone out to browse through it while waiting for Isla to be done with her preparations.

Suzaan sees this and is surprised.

Given how he was blatantly checking her out with his perverted gaze, she thought he was going to approach her and try to flirt with her, but he didn’t.

This was new to her.

Ever since she could remember, men have always done this. They leered at her, sexualized her with their eyes, and tried to get with her, only for her to reject them.

Since a very young age, she found this behavior of men disgusting and was one of the many factors that led to her exclusively date women.

Of course, there is also the fact that she found women equally attractive, so such behaviors from men made it much easier for her.

So for the first time in her life, she was surprised by the shift in pattern.

It’s not like she has not seen men leer at her from afar and never approach her because they are scared or nervous to do so, but Adam is not like those men.

He is extremely confident; given how he is very blatant with his staring, men like Adam have no trouble approaching girls, and she knows it from experience.

Whenever a man has looked at her the way Adam just did, they always made their move afterward. So why didn’t Adam do it?

’Does he not find me attractive?’ Suzaan thinks but quickly dismisses it, given how Adam was basically feasting on her body with his eyes.

’Wait, is it because he and Isla are now in a relationship?’ She questions, but that doesn’t make sense at all, given Isla has already told her about Adam’s other women and how he won’t stop fucking other girls while being in the relationship.

The more Suzaan thinks about it, the more frustrated she gets.

She still doesn’t understand what’s so special about Adam that is making Isla let him walk all over her.

They are in a semi-open relationship where Adam is getting all the benefits, and Isla isn’t. As her friend, Suzaan wants to fight for her.

She decides to dig deeper into the relationship her friend has entered. She has heard Isla’s side, so now it’s time for her to hear what Adam has to say.

Suzaan walks up to Adam and sits down on the other side of the couch while Adam is busy scrolling through his phone. She tilts her head to see what he is looking at and finds him scrolling through his fastgram, but instead of the girls in skimpy bikinis and cosplay dancing like she expected, it is videos of martial arts, science, music, and more educational stuff.

Once again, she found Adam going against the grain.

"So..." She finally decides to speak.

Adam stops scrolling and turns to look at her.

"So?" He questions back.

"You and Isla are dating..." She says, still not knowing how she is going to steer this conversation.

"That I am," Adam says.

"Okay..." Suzaan says, finding herself at a dead end.

Adam can see her getting uncomfortable; he can also tell she wants to interrogate him but doesn’t know how to.

He chuckles, getting her attention. "Why are you laughing?" Suzaan asks.

"Well, it’s obvious to me that you want to interrogate me, so go ahead, ask anything you want. I won’t lie," Adam says.

Suzaan’s eyes flicker; no man has ever been this open to her. But since Adam has given her permission, she is not going to hold back because this is related to Isla and she cares deeply for her friend.

"Okay, then let’s get straight to the point. Why can you fuck around but she can’t?" Suzaan asks outright.

Adam, though surprised by her boldness, doesn’t mind it.

He smiles and opens his lips to answer her.

"Well, the answer is simple: I am not going to change who I am and my lifestyle for a single woman, no matter how special she is.

I made it clear to Isla and gave her an out. She decided to go with it anyway, and now we are here," Adam says.

His voice, calm and clear.

But Suzaan found his answer very frustrating because it was something she couldn’t rebuke.

Her friend chose this for herself.
