Selain meets Ellie, Liam's girlfriend, and finds herself intrigued rather than hostile, seeing her as a legend from a storybook. As Liam and Ellie continue their quiet training, Rio and Lia arrive, surprising everyone with Rio's newfound cheerfulness and mischievous nature, a stark contrast to his former cold demeanor. The group recalls past pranks, like the infamous diarrhea incident and a theft of their funds, highlighting Rio's transformation into a more emotional and playful, albeit troublesome, individual.

"Your decoration skills are pretty good, Lia... it’s hard to believe that this was a Demon King Palace just a few months ago..."

Selain turned her head to look around, her eyes travelling along the high ceilings and the warm hanging lamps, and she could not hide how impressed she was by the transformation.

After returning back from the distant galaxy, Rio and Lia invited the guests to their new home, which was the refurbished Demon King Palace that Rio had captured and repaired properly with his powers!

The magnificent front gates opened with a gentle creak, and the guests stepped into a hall that smelled of fresh paint, polished wood, and the faint sweetness of the flowers growing outside.

Now that Lia had spent a few days decorating the interior, the entire place looked different and gave a comfier vibe.

Soft carpets covered the old stone floors, and cheerful paintings hung along the corridors where cold and empty shadows had once lingered.

Selain was truly fascinated that the once miasma-infested snow palace was now looking so warm and comfy that it seemed like an entirely different place!

She remembered the stories she had heard about this place, stories of frozen halls and a suffocating darkness, and she found it almost impossible to match them with the cozy place in front of her.

"Well, Mel helped me out in decorating and choosing various good designs and fabrics... I and Rio hand-painted the walls together, hehe~"

She pointed proudly at a wall near the window where a slightly crooked line of blue paint ran across the surface, clearly the work of an enthusiastic but inexperienced hand.

Hearing Lia’s proud tone, Selain sighed a bit but didn’t argue; she knew she had already lost in the battle of love long before she even found out about Rio’s existence.

The sight of the happy couple was truly pleasant, though it also stirred a small and bittersweet ache that she tried her best to push down.

Rio and Lia were already a couple before Selain even knew Rio, so she had already lost before the battle could even begin.

In the end, there was no one to blame, and she had slowly learned to accept it with a calm and graceful heart, as a princess should.

"Sigh, if only there were two of Rio’s... I could have had one too..."

Shaking her head in helplessness, Selain grabbed the teacup handed over to her by Rio, and her eyes lit up drinking the tea, as it was pleasantly delicious.

The warm fragrance rose from the cup in gentle curls, and its smooth taste spread across her tongue in a way that instantly relaxed her tense shoulders.

"Visiting you guys after so long is pleasant and all, but the reason I came here today is different."

Her tone turned serious, and the relaxed atmosphere in the guest room settled down as everyone sensed that the real reason for her visit was about to be revealed.

"I have brought an invitation with me for you and Rio..."

She straightened her back, looking at the couple with a dignified expression.

Selain suddenly brought out an invitation letter and handed it to Lia.

The group was quite surprised that in this modern day and age there are still people using letters, but they didn’t point this out, as it would have been rude to Selain.

"You all have been to the Dragon Valley, and you are all aware of the fact that the remnants of the fairy race live in seclusion in a hidden domain of the Dragon Valley under my dragon race’s protection, right?"

"Recently, Rio has restored the ancestral homeland of the fairies, which is this newly born continent, and the news has already reached the fairies too..."

Such news travelled quickly, and even the hidden corners of the world had by now heard of the miracle that had turned a frozen wasteland into a blooming paradise.

"The fairies have thus sent an invitation to you both and have invited you to new fairyland and meet with them."

The Fairies had waited for this day for many long centuries, and Selain had seen the tears in their eyes when they first heard that their homeland had been restored.

Selain sipped her tea and remained silent for a second to give the others a few moments to digest the information.

A gentle silence filled the room, broken only by the soft ticking of the old clock on the wall and the faint rustle of leaves beyond the windows.

"I think they want to thank you for saving the ancient fairy continent and helping them destroy the demon race..."

Her voice carried a trace of warmth, for the fairy race had been under the protection of her people for so long that even she had visited them several times and come to regard them as friends.

Hearing Selain’s words, a frown appeared on Link’s face, and he asked in a confused tone,

"If they wanted to thank him... why didn’t they just directly come here? If this land is indeed their ancient homeland, they should be happy to come here as fast as possible..."

It did not make sense to him that the fairies, who had longed for their homeland for so many centuries, would hesitate to take even a single step toward it.

Selain nodded her head at those words and replied in a calm voice,

"Yes, normally that’s what should have happened, but a major problem has happened... A new peak SS rank miasmic dungeon has appeared near the entrance of the domain."

"The miasma it’s spewing out is too dense, and no one dares to use that transportation channel anymore..."

"Communication with the fairies has fallen apart as it’s become difficult to move in or out of the entrance... it’s very likely that the fairies are now stuck in that domain and isolated completely..."

Although the Dragons could force their way in through all that miasma, the outcome would remain the same; it would be impossible for the Fairies to get out of that isolated domain easily even with the Dragon race’s help.
