Rio processed the vast amount of information from the crown, learning about King Allen's ability to manipulate destiny and his connection to the 'Origin'. He discovered the true nature of his ultimate enemy, the 'God of Decay,' an SSS-rank entity with immense power and knowledge. Realizing the power of 'Fragments,' Rio also understood that used fragments are lost forever. Feeling recharged and ready for his next steps, Rio left the basement, thinking of Lia.

"No no I can’t eat anymore, I will blow apart like a balloon!"

Despite Rio’s protests, Lia stuffed more food into Rio’s mouth, forcing him to eat.

"Hmph! This is your punishment for leaving me all alone for three whole days and not even contacting me the entire time!"

"Moreover! Now you are talking about going off on a trip for a while too!"

Ever since the day Lia got attacked by the powers of Raika and saw all those tragic memories, she had become clingier than ever before.

Although it was a bit restrictive, Rio was happy about this change, as this symbolized that Lia was no longer as shy as she used to be.

At the start of their relationship, just holding hands was enough to make her face turn into a red tomato from shyness, but now she is fully open to skinship and even dares to sit on his lap to force-feed the food to him!

The difference between the before and after situation was simply like heaven and earth apart!

Now Rio was quite sure that Lia would not faint or run away like she used to if he tried to advance their relationship to the next level.

Just when Rio and Lia were both immersed in their own world, James, Lia’s father, entered the room, causing the two lovebirds to stop fooling around and sit down on the sofa properly.

Seeing that the situation had calmed down, James walked over with Kai sitting on his shoulder and sat down on the chair nearby.

"It feels quite nice to have a son-in-law, the house is always so lively that this old man’s boring life livens up a lot..."

"But you two... you really do need to move out soon and build your own home."

"You are both adults now and, in a relationship, living under the same roof as this old fossil is a bit too restrictive..."

James gave Rio a thumbs up and winked while saying in a sly tone,

"You know what I mean, right?... I am eager to hold my grandchildren-"

Before James could even finish his words, Lia threw a pillow on his face.

"Oh shut up dad! You are making it awkward! We are still too young for that!"

Watching the ruckus, Rio felt relaxed and happy from the bottom of his heart.

’These quiet moments and these peaceful times... I like it quite a lot... I guess this is what a peaceful ordinary life would feel like...’

’I can’t wait to be done with all the big stuff and settle down with Lia...’

Although the road ahead was still fraught with danger and many challenges, Rio was now starting to finally see the outline of his destination around the horizon.

His road was no longer an endless ’Path,’ his destination, his goal, was no clearer than ever before.

All Rio needed to do was to just keep walking.

"I need to go to the Demon Continent for a while."

Rio’s words immediately changed the relaxed mood of the room, causing both Lia and James to stop messing around.

Lia plopped down on the sofa and looked at Rio with anxiety and worry.

"This... but..."

Although Lia was worried, she couldn’t find words to ask Rio to not go.

She indeed wanted Rio to always stay by her side and never take risks, but as an awakener herself, Lia was clearly aware how important it was for an awakener to always strive for improvement.

To an awakener of their level, the ’Path’ they walked on was more important than life itself!

And they simply could not stop walking on their ’Path’, because if they stopped, they would lose the motivation to keep improving forever!

In an ever-changing world where powerful threats loomed about everywhere, not being able to improve would cause you to be left behind by the ever-changing and always-evolving world.

Sooner or later, your demise would come knocking at your door.

The world of the awakener was just that unfair and unforgiving of a concept; thus, Lia could not stop Rio from heading towards danger even if she wanted to.

"Heading to the Demon Continent... but how is going there related to your advancement to the next realm?"

Unlike Lia, who was worried about Rio’s well-being, James was more calm and collected.

To be honest, James himself had entered the Demon Continent a few times along with his former comrade Kevin Flash during the days when they were scouting the terrain of that place for the information-stealing mission.

Although the Demon Continent was a dangerous place, the density of miasma there was actually much weaker than the spirit realm.

James was clearly aware that Rio had gone into the ’Spirit Realm’ and had returned completely unscathed!

In James’s opinion, the ’Spirit Realm’ was many times more dangerous than the Demon Continent, and Rio had already proved his ability to survive in such a place with his powers already!

So, unlike Lia, who was worried, James felt that Rio had a pretty good chance of returning unscathed.

"Right now I am deliberately suppressing myself, but I can easily ascend any moment I want to..."

"The reason I need to go to the Demon Continent for my ascension is because I need to talk to the Demon King Nebo Dahaka about a few things while I am still an S-ranker..."

"The reason for it is... something I can’t put into words, at least not now..."

Rio looked straight into Lia’s eyes and spoke with a smile,

"Rest assured, I will return in just a few days, and when I get back, I will be the strongest man on this planet."

"I will take you on a date to outer space as a way to make amends, hehe~"

From Rio’s eyes and words, Lia could already tell that he was definitely about to do something extremely dangerous, but she could feel his confidence and knew he was not lying.

’Sigh... the more he shows this confidence, the more I find myself loving this side of him...’

After a long moment of silence, Lia nodded her head,

"Fine... I can bear to wait for a few days... But promise me that you will return as fast as possible. Don’t do anything too crazy and just return back right away after ascending..."

Hearing those words, Rio smiled back at Lia and nodded his head in acknowledgement.

"Don’t worry, I won’t do anything crazy. Not at all~"

’I will just kill the Demon King, and if the situation forces it... I would annihilate the entire demon race from the face of this planet...’

’Nothing too crazy at all...’
