Somewhere deep in an unnamed forest, there existed a small settlement where only those who were either exiled from society or those who chose to live far away from the prying eyes of others could live.

In a small, crudely made house, a young man barely 9 years old drowsily sat up on his bed and stretched his sluggish body.

A cool and refreshing morning breeze snuck through the nearby window and ruffled his already messed-up golden hair.

Rubbing his sleepy eyes, the young man stood up, and his face shone with youth and energy as the warm morning sunlight passing through the window brightened up his mood.

His dark golden pupils shone with grace and beauty, captivating enough to make any woman’s heart throb.

Despite being just a young child, the young man seemed to be radiating an aura of majesty and calmness.

Walking towards the front door of the crudely made house, the young man spoke in a calm voice.

"Mother, I have a tactical nuclear bunker evacuation drill training in the morning today."

"I shall not have breakfast and head straight towards the northern wall to join my fellow comrades and lend my help to them."

Hearing those words, the woman who was trying to light up a bonfire outside couldn’t help but giggle a bit while replying,

"Bahaha~ Ah, where did you learn to talk in such a way, you little rascal!"

"Can’t you straightforwardly say that you have promised to go play with your friends and make a secret hiding spot for your friends!?"

"BAHAHAHAH!!! Making a nuclear bunker!? Pffftttt~"

"Kids nowadays are so clever."

Shaking her head, the woman walked over to the young man’s side, wiped his face with a wet towel, and fixed his clothes before patting him on the head and speaking lovingly.

"Go, play with your friends if you want to, but make sure you return by lunch and make sure to be careful, okay?"

Hearing his mother’s words, the young man placed his hand on his chest and replied like a military cadet.

"Understood! I shall return once the mission has been executed successfully for the equipment repair and other maintenance work!"

With that said, the young man took his crudely made bicycle and rode away on it with a serious look as if he were really going on official business!

Seeing her son act like a disciplined military special operations officer, the woman couldn’t help but shake her head in defeat.

"Kids nowadays, they are so unpredictable! Just a few months ago he used to cling to me all day long, refusing to leave. Look at him now, playing with his little naughty friends all day long..."

Just when the woman was feeling helpless, a man walked out of the house.

"Haha, Lillian, you sound like an overprotective mom who doesn’t want to pamper her child all day long."

Hearing those words, Lillian turned to the man and replied with a pout.

"Hmph! Like I care about that little rascal! Let him enjoy all he wants; he will have to return to me for food in the afternoon anyway!"

"By the way, weren’t you saying that you would head to Grandpa Graham’s office today, Gaius? If you keep dilly-dallying, you will be late and make him angry you know?"

"The last time he almost broke your leg with his cane in anger when you were late."

At his wife’s words, Gaius coughed in embarrassment and replied in a calm voice,

"Ahem, t-that was because I was about five hours late last time because I forgot I even had a meeting with him that day..."

"This time I will surely not be late, hehe~"

With that said, Gaius hurried off inside the house to change clothes and get ready to go to the meeting, causing Lillian to shake her head in dismay.

"Sigh... thankfully, Allen has inherited my punctuality and sincerity; he would have suffered a lot in the future if he were like his father..."

"Oh right, we still have some potatoes left from yesterday... hehe, just you wait, little Allen; your mother will make your favourite dish today, and you will be back to kowtowing in front of me soon enough, kekekeke~"

While his parents were busy in their own world, young Allen made his way to the northern wall of the small settlement.

His three friends were already present there waiting for him in a crudely made military formation.

Seeing those three, Allen nodded his head, climbed on the children’s slide and spoke in a calm and majestic voice.

"Good morning, Cadets! We, the warriors of the Great Sun Shattering Army, have gathered here today for only one purpose, and it is to create a nuclear bunker near the outskirts of the great holy capital for future war preparations!"

"Our mission is simple: make the bunker as big and strong as possible! In times of need, this bunker shall protect our troops and civilian populations!"

With that said, the young Allen placed his fist on his chest and declared loudly,

"For the future of humanity!"

As if trying to mimic his movements, the other children also shouted in unison.

"For the future of humanity!"

With a look of seriousness on his face, Young Allen slid down the slide and then led his soldiers towards the location where the bunker needed to be built.

"Follow me, my fellow comrades! We shall make it through all hurdles for the sake of a better future! We will secure humanity’s future with our own hands!"

"And for that, even if we have to walk a treacherous path, we shall do it happily!"

As if enchanted by Allen’s words, the kids followed him like loyal soldiers following their general, and the group made their way towards the north gate of the settlement, which was still locked due to it being early morning.

"We will use the ladder and go beyond the great walls of hope to confront fate itself. Let’s go, comrades! For the sake of the future, we have to fight; we cannot let this mere door stop our footsteps!"

Following Allen’s commands, the group skillfully sneaked out of the settlement with practiced efficiency as if it were just a usual occurrence for them and they had done the same thing many a time before!
