Ming Han revealed that his mother, Feng Lu, twisted his ears and demanded Vivi apologize to her stepdaughter, Han Qian, in an attempt to curry favor with Han Qian. Min Rui advised Ming Han and Vivi to stay away from Han Qian, whom Ming Han described as a "masquerade freak" who pretends to be weak and kind while sowing discord. Later, Kang Li visited Feng Lu and Han Qian, instructing Han Qian to treat others with respect and avoid ambiguous statements that cause harm. Kang Li explained that Vivi's actions were a defense of Feng Lu's reputation, as Han Qian had been tarnishing it.

"Mom! I’ve finished packing!"

Ming Wei’s voice overflowed with delight.

Upon hearing the young girl’s call, Kang Li turned his attention from Han Qian, ascended the stairs, and assisted Ming Wei in carrying two substantial suitcases down to the living room.

Feng Lu inquired, "Luo Mingwei, do you truly intend to relocate back to your home from here?"

"This place is not my true residence; naturally, I must return to my own dwelling. I wish to avoid residing under another’s roof and enduring constant disdain," Ming Wei retorted.

Ming Wei met Feng Lu’s probing stare without flinching. "You gave birth to me; I shall never forget that fact. However, the one who nurtured me was my mother. Though she did not carry me and we share no blood ties, she bestowed upon me maternal affection, ample security, and a complete family!"

"I can provide you with these things as well!" Feng Lu suppressed her temper, stating, "Hasn’t your Uncle Han been good to you since you moved in? In your heart, is your Uncle Han’s household not considered a complete home?"

"I have no comment regarding Uncle Han. However, may I pose one question: Do you genuinely regard me as your own child? If so, kindly enlighten me as to why you treated me in such a manner at school this afternoon."

Ming Wei’s voice was laced with profound disappointment. "You cannot provide an explanation, can you?"

Indeed, Feng Lu found herself utterly speechless by Ming Wei’s questions!

"Your father is waiting in the car; we should depart promptly, lest you be late for school this afternoon," Kang Li urged Ming Wei. However, Feng Lu unexpectedly stepped forward, directly obstructing the living room entrance. "Luo Mingwei, I forbid you from leaving!"

"Step aside!"

At some unknown juncture, Luo Yanqing materialized at the living room doorway, his voice a chilling decree, utterly devoid of warmth.

Entirely frozen, Feng Lu slowly swiveled her head. "You..." She was immediately intimidated by Luo Yanqing’s imposing aura!

"I have adhered to our agreement this entire time. Recall carefully what I conveyed to you at noon!"

With his words hanging in the air, Luo Yanqing moved past Feng Lu, approached Kang Li, accepted the suitcase from his hand, and declared, "Let’s go." Kang Li readily agreed with an "Okay," took Ming Wei’s hand, and followed closely behind Luo Yanqing. The trio swiftly disappeared from the living room’s threshold.

Han Qian was consumed by intense envy, jealousy, and resentment towards Ming Wei.

Not only did Ming Wei possess a doting father, but also a supportive stepmother. Even if the father was not biologically hers, it was evident that the man who appeared exceptionally cold and refined held genuine paternal concern for Luo Mingwei; otherwise, he would not have accompanied her home for this particular journey.

Shaking off her reflections, Han Qian mockingly addressed Feng Lu, "I never imagined Aunt Feng would turn out to be mere paper." Angered and frustrated, Han Qian sought an outlet, choosing the wicked woman, Feng, as a convenient target to vent her discontent.

At this precise moment, Han Qian seemed to have completely disregarded Kang Li’s earlier words. No, it wasn't that she had forgotten; rather, Han Qian had not paid any heed at all.

"Do not like, but must respect?"

Han Qian scoffed at this notion.

"Why should I torment myself? If I do not like her, then I simply do not like her. Demanding my respect for a wicked woman attempting to be my stepmother is utterly out of the question!"

However, Han Qian remained blissfully unaware that her father, Han Bin, had already obtained a marriage certificate with the very woman she disliked.

This implied that the little pretender was still ignorant of the fact that Feng Lu was now her legitimate stepmother, Han Bin’s lawfully wedded wife.

The compound.

Upon Kang Li and Luo Yanqing escorting Ming Wei home, the meal was promptly prepared and served by Min Rui and Ming Han. After they had eaten, and noting less than thirty minutes remained until school resumed, Luo Yanqing personally drove the three siblings to their educational institution. Kang Li, meanwhile, remained behind to engage in conversation with Captain Kang and Cai Xiufen in the living room.

"Vivi has moved back; she won’t be visiting her biological mother anymore, will she?"

"That is correct."

"We heard from Hanhan after school today. Let me tell you, Vivi’s biological mother is as unclear as Xiao Feng’s mother."

The Xiao Feng mentioned by Cai Xiufen undoubtedly referred to Feng Yi.

"Judging solely by the scene I observed this afternoon, their demeanor towards their biological children and stepchildren indeed appears remarkably similar," Kang Li remarked, then suddenly recalled the connection between Feng Lu and Fang Su. He continued, "Actually, they are related by family."

"..."

Cai Xiufen appeared bewildered.

Captain Kang, similarly, did not grasp Kang Li’s intended meaning.

"Vivi’s biological mother’s surname is Feng, and she and Feng Yi are half-siblings. They were allegedly orphaned in their childhood," Kang Li elaborated, finally bringing clarity to Cai Xiufen and Captain Kang. This prompted Cai Xiufen to exclaim, "No wonder! Having been raised by Xiao Feng’s mother since their youth, they would inevitably be influenced by her stepmother."

Kang Li raised the water cup from the coffee table to her lips and took a sip. She then stated, "However, the way she was a beneficiary in her stepmother's grasp, and now she's applying that same ingratiating tactic to her stepdaughter, which, to the contrary, makes Vivi endure the very same grievances Feng Yi once experienced, I believe she is simply muddle-headed."
