Amelia contacted Count Leonaro via a secured orb to investigate the health and whereabouts of those who took Phantom Core. While Amelia recovered from her ordeal, Yi Ying returned with crucial information and evidence, including an image of Pierce and Shateur Duvelle meeting with a mysterious third party near a small, black rift.

The rift Yi Ying revealed was one that reminded Izroth of the same rift had came across back when he invaded the Night Lord’s Crypt. Given the parties involved, most likely, it was a rift that connected the Shadahi Realm to the Mortal Realm.

However, what Izroth did not understand was how such a rift came to be situated in Danaharpe.

"You’ve done well reporting this right away. For now, you can remain an standby." Izroth said calmly.

"Understood. This is the rest of the evidence I gathered." Yi Ying said as she reached toward the pouch at her side.

The next moment, a red box roughly half a meter wide and tall appeared her hands as she held it toward Izroth.

Izroth accepted the box. And, the instant he did so, Yi Ying transformed and merged into Izroth’s shadow.

"Supreme Elder Izroth, can you explain what’s going on?" Mithron questioned.

Mithron could sense the shift in atmosphere around Izroth the moment Yi Ying showed the projected image through that recording magic item.

"It would seem that some of those tied to the Duvelle family are truly too far gone. This goes well beyond a mere power grab in Danaharpe. I believe they’re planning on opening a rift somewhere in Danaharpe that connects directly to the Shadahi Realm." Izroth stated without hesitation.

"Opening a rift that connects two realms? Impossible...! Even for an organization like the League of the Eidolon, let alone the Duvelle family, the amount of resources required to do that should not be something that they’re capable of getting their hands on." Mithron frowned.

"Indeed, even if those old monsters all worked together, forcing open a rift between realms would not be a simple task. That aside, I assume Supreme Elder Izroth has a reason for coming to such a conclusion." Old Shan said in a meaningful tone.

"I meant no offense, Supreme Elder Izroth. It’s not that I’m doubting our benefactor. It’s simply something that is difficult to believe." Mithron said with a heavy sigh.

Izroth understood why Mithron had a hard time wrapping his head around things.

The last time it was made public that a rift opened to the Shadahi Realm required the use of the Gateway of a Thousand Bloodless Hands.

The Gateway of a Thousand Bloodless Hands was a forbidden spell that could force open a rift between realms. However, its activation requirements were not just difficult, but also too atrocious to carry out in a place like Danaharpe. After all, it required the blood of one thousand innocent lives to be spilled and their lives to be extinguished amidst a battle.

If something like that took place in Danaharpe without his knowledge, Mithron would not have the face to call himself the Head of the Kroma Family, let alone a noble of the kingdom of Amaharpe.

"This is not knowledge that is widely known yet; however, given the positions and status of those present, it should not be an issue if you know a little earlier. During the raid on the Night Lord’s Crypt, there was a rift there that connected to the Shadahi Realm. While it’s unknown how that rift came to be, the chances of it being the result of the Gateway of a Thousand Bloodless Hands is highly unlikely." Izroth revealed.

Mithron and Amelia could not hide their shock at Izroth’s words. As for Old Shan, he seemed to shift into a state of deep thought.

"I see... It makes sense now why so much information surrounding what took place that day at the raid of the Night Lord’s Crypt was kept under wraps. I always felt that despite being victorious, there were too many missing pieces. Even the Swords of Harpe information network barely managed to get our hands on a few details hidden from the general public. However, I never would have guessed that such a dangerous thing appeared." Amelia commented.

"Thankfully, the rift was not fully stable. While a few of those creatures were able to pass through, the biggest threats could not move through it in such an unstable state. Naturally, I destroyed that rift and forcibly closed it to prevent any future issues. Though it would seem that luck is on our side this time around. Based on the size of the rift in Danaharpe, I doubt any of those creatures have been able to cross over into the Mortal Realm from the Shadahi Realm. Of course, I plan to keep it that way." Izroth said as he walked over to the side of the bed.

He then continued, "That’s why, before I go, I wish to have a private conversation with the one who represents the Grand Duke Harpe Family."

A look of intrigue flashed through Amelia’s eyes.

"Uncle Mithron, Grandpa Shan—I would like a moment alone with my benefactor to discuss a few matters. Please ensure that no one disturbs us." Amelia instructed.

Mithron seemed somewhat hesitant. However, he felt a strong palm slap onto his back.

"Aye, us old folks shouldn’t meddle too much and let the younger generation talk amongst themselves. We will be right outside." Old Shan said as he headed toward as he essentially pushed Mithron along.

Since Old Shan agreed, Mithron was no longer in a position to protest. Of course, it was not that Mithron did not trust Izroth. Rather, the reason behind his hesitation was something else entirely.

"How will I explain it to the Grand Duke if he finds out that I left his daughter alone in the room with a man who is not family?" Mithron thought to himself, troubled.

Not long after, it was only Izroth and Amelia in the room.

"What is it that Sir Izroth wished to discuss with me in private?" Amelia asked without wasting a moment.

"Then, I will speak a bit freely. I believe the reason the League of the Eidolon targeted you but kept you alive is to lure the Grand Duke, your father, to Danaharpe. Since there is no known cure or treatment for Phantom Core, perhaps they wanted to use you to control the Grand Duke, were my initial thoughts." Izroth stated.

Amelia furrowed her brows and said, "Why would they try to lure my father to Danaharpe? No, more importantly, do they truly believe my father would betray the Mortal Realm just to cure me? There is no way he would trust those from the League of the Eidolon to keep their word."

"That’s precisely why I discarded those thoughts. While I do not personally know the Grand Duke, given his position and contributions to Amaharpe, he should not be someone who would fall for such an obvious ploy. In fact, he seems like the type that would crush those threatening him and find a way forward on his own." Izroth said.

The Grand Duke was an important figure in the Amaharpe Kingdom. As such, there were no lack of books in the Amaharpe Palace Library that recorded his many feats.
