Vritra and the others cleared the first two floors of the tower with ease, defeating zombies and giants with a single attack each. Above, ten powerful gods observed the players, noting a strange presence among them and discussing recent events involving a mysterious "Divine" who had made a powerful move against a family of higher beings.

"That youngster? There is absolutely no way he could have survived that strike," the hulking god boomed, facing the ancient, withered deity.

It was his own powerful attack that had been unleashed upon Vritra previously; he harbored a profound hatred for the Divine.

"That complication has been dealt with. As for Divine, I highly doubt he can cling to life much longer," the oldest god remarked.

The ten gods fell into a somber silence, unwilling to even utter the name of that accursed individual. The battle had inflicted wounds upon them all, injuries that remained unhealed even to this day.

"Oh, they are clearing the levels with remarkable speed," the infant-like god exclaimed. Despite his diminutive appearance, he had witnessed millennia pass.

The gods possessed the ability to alter their physical forms at will, meaning their current visages might not be their true ones.

"Hmm, they have already surpassed the twentieth level. Not too shabby. However, certain techniques can inflict widespread devastation. It’s hardly surprising," the erudite god chimed in.

As the procession advanced, the gods grew increasingly astonished, never anticipating such rapid progress or attainment of such heights.

Nevertheless, none genuinely believed these eleven individuals could endure.

***

The contingent had by then ascended to the fiftieth level.

This stratum was swarming with countless serpents, each imbued with potent venom and possessing exceptional agility.

Some of these reptiles were as diminutive as a pinky finger, while others stretched over twenty feet in length, presenting a perilously treacherous environment.

Fortunately, they were all still significantly below the tenth evolution stage, thus posing no immediate threat to the group.

"Pitiful one, kindly permit me to vanquish them this time," Shitless pleaded once more. Ever since their strength had surged so dramatically, he had not had a proper fight.

"Not yet. We cannot afford to squander any time here," Vritra responded, shaking his head as he unleashed another wave of spiritual energy.

Despite employing this very ability fifty times, he felt no fatigue; his recovery rate, after all, had accelerated considerably.

"Let’s proceed. Haa, can’t they just present us with the most formidable boss instead of this tedious grind?" Vritra sighed, making his way toward the sealed portal.

The key materialized before him, precisely as before, and then glided towards the portal.

CLICK

With a subtle click, the portal swung open, and the group ventured onward.

The fifty-fifth level was conquered with the same tactic, and they swiftly moved past it.

The sixtieth level offered no change either, even as the might of the mutants continued their steady ascent.

"We’ve already reached the ninetieth level. How much further must we endure this?" Yennefer voiced her growing impatience.

"This entire place is utterly nonsensical. What else could one possibly anticipate from such incompetent deities!" Diana declared with a scowl. Had she been the true goddess, she would have designed but a single, decisive level.

"However, they are orchestrating all of this for the amusement of higher entities. I suppose it does hold some logic," Yasmine offered with a shrug.

Even beyond the ninetieth floor, they encountered only mutants comparable to creatures at the fifth evolution phase.

Before long, they arrived at the hundredth level.

Vritra nudged the portal open and stepped onto the subsequent level, curious if any alterations would manifest.

The entirety of this floor was submerged in a viscous fluid, and no discernible life forms could be detected.

"Hmm, what is this now?" they collectively furrowed their brows, scanning their surroundings.

Suddenly, colossal glowing letters materialized before their very eyes:

[Escape this abyssal realm within 10 minutes, or face eternal entombment!!]

The instant the message appeared, the fluid covering the floor began to surge upwards with alarming rapidity.

Vritra swiftly conjured a protective bubble around them, shielding them from the encroaching fluid as he meticulously surveyed the environment.

There wasn't even a defined objective. These blasted gods...

Vritra cursed under his breath and resolved to obliterate everything present in this confined space.

Simultaneously, he unleashed a barrage of two devastating attacks.

One was the spiritual burst, and the second consisted of hundreds of thousands of blood arrows that descended like a deadly tempest upon the entire floor.

The fluid erupted outwards in chaotic sprays as the arrows impacted with ferocious intensity.

BANG BANG BANG

KCHHH

Amidst the cacophony of thunderous impacts, a faint sound, like that of something being pierced, emerged as the fluid convulsed.

"Ah, so this entire fluid mass was an integral part of a colossal creature, and its core was concealed somewhere within," Vritra deduced aloud.

Yet, owing to the dual onslaught, the core was obliterated within mere moments.

The fluid ceased its ascent and then coalesced, forming another key.

[The subsequent level presents far graver perils; exercise extreme caution!!]

A stark warning flashed before them. Without deactivating the bubble, Vritra elected to press onward.

While the current adversaries were relatively weak, he refused to underestimate this formidable tower; one could never be certain what latent dangers lay hidden within.

"S- Sir, is it truly necessary for me to continue?" Asmodeus inquired, having already surpassed his perceived limits by a considerable margin.

"Naturally, my thrall. You shall accompany me for as long as I deem fit. Fashion an automated conveyance for everyone, capable of ascending even stairwells," Shitless commanded imperiously.

"Uh…" Asmodeus frowned momentarily but then inclined his head in agreement. Within a few brief minutes, he fabricated eleven plush seats, each equipped with self-propulsion for effortless navigation.

"Not bad, little one. It feels good, doesn't it?" Shitless commented, sitting upon one and maneuvering it, which ascended the stairs with effortless grace.

Vritra merely rolled his eyes. "We haven't got time for games. Let's continue our ascent."

With that said, he took a seat on a nearby chair and propelled it over the stairs; the movement was remarkably smooth.

Witnessing this, his wives also decided to partake in the novel experience.

Before long, all eleven of them were comfortably seated in the mechanical chairs, which swiftly transported them to the subsequent level.

The ten gods observing this spectacle were rendered utterly speechless. What exactly was transpiring?

This trial, this tower, was intended to be fraught with peril, meant to evoke feelings of despair and dread.

Yet, these individuals, whom they deemed nobodies, were treating it like a recreational outing?

The gods had invested significant effort in originating this entire ordeal, and it felt like a profound insult, as though their meticulous work was being openly mocked.

Nevertheless, they found themselves powerless to intervene.

The celestial beings harbored a lingering hope that these mortals would soon encounter genuine despair. In fact, a majority of the ten gods intensely desired to witness such a turn of events.

The higher entities, the watchers of all, noted that a considerable number of them were now fixated on this very spectacle.

And apparently, they seemed to be deriving pleasure from it?!!

The group reached the 101st floor via their mechanical chairs, their initial annoyance beginning to subside.

Vritra conducted a scan of the floor, quickly identifying a solitary figure positioned near the central area.

The mutant bore a human-like resemblance, yet its form was grotesquely distended with pus, and it possessed immense size. Clutched in its grasp was a large, metallic vase, and it radiated an aura of lethal danger.

Countless corpses of diverse creatures littered the surroundings, indicating that this monstrosity was indeed far more formidable than any adversaries previously encountered.

ROOAAARRRRRR…

The mutant unleashed a deafening roar upon detecting their presence and raised the metallic vase. Simultaneously, the surrounding corpses began to animate, drawn towards it.

They were being inexorably drawn into the vase.

[Spiritual burst!]

BOOOM!!

With a singular, devastating strike, the creature's head disintegrated. Even this immense threat proved insufficient against their might.

Once again, the gods were left with a sense of unfulfillment. They yearned to interfere, yet the circumstances prohibited it.

Their only recourse was to observe the unfolding events through the viewing screens.

"Very soon, they shall be vanquished. It will happen most promptly," declared the paramount god, striving to suppress his mounting anger.

Vritra and his companions proceeded to the next floor in their chairs, resuming their pattern of dispatching enemies with a single, effortless attack.

"A- At this rate, they will reach the very pinnacle-" the rope god stammered, his voice laced with tension.

"Such an outcome is inconceivable," countered a god whose form emanated a radiant white luminescence, lacking any defined shape.

This being was the preeminent deity, the Sun, endowed with immeasurable power and ultimate authority.

The majority of the tower's floors were conceptualized by him, and he possessed unwavering conviction that no mere band of ordinary humans could possibly endure until the conclusion.

"…" The other gods exchanged glances, then redirected their attention back to the screen.

Vritra's group systematically cleared each level; a solitary strike was all that was required.

Soon, they had surpassed the 170th floor, and the expressions of the gods, though unseen, shifted to one of bewilderment.

All nine accompanying gods turned their gazes towards Sun.

"They… will falter soon. A significantly more challenging floor awaits them. Simply await their encounter with floor 200," Sun proclaimed with resolute confidence.

Vritra let out a sigh and prepared another attack, but Yasmine gently placed a hand on his shoulder. "Allow me to handle this, my love," she said.

She then unleashed a formidable spiritual burst, annihilating all adversaries present.

The mechanical chairs then whisked them away to the subsequent floor, and so the progression continued.

Up to the 200th floor, they encountered no discernible difficulty, with every foe succumbing to a literal single blow.

"Hah! Now they are truly finished. None of them stand a chance on this floor, I assure you. This is among my most cherished challenges!!" Sun exclaimed suddenly, causing the other gods to flinch in surprise.

They had never before witnessed the Sun god exhibit such fervent excitement.

Deep within the tower, Vritra and his companions entered the 200th floor, maintaining a state of cautious alertness despite the preceding ease of their passage.

The chairs had been put aside, and they stood prepared for any imminent threat.

However, the moment the eleven set foot onto the floor, their bodies vibrated intensely, and each was instantaneously drawn into a separate, isolated space.

Some were grouped in pairs, while others found themselves in trios.

Vritra suddenly found himself alongside Diana, the exquisite goddess.

The environment surrounding them was a desolate expanse of sand, reminiscent of a barren desert.

Elsewhere, Fiona and Teresa were separated. These two women did not share a particularly cordial relationship.

In fact, Fiona still harbored a distinct disliking for Teresa, and their shared glance was met with a frown from Fiona.

Yet another location housed Onest, Shitless, and Asmodeus; the three men, finding themselves in close proximity, naturally gravitated together.

And finally, Yasmine, Maeve, Vanessa, and Yennefer were together in their isolated domain.
