Vritra and his group were ambushed by metallic insects controlled by a player named Jackal, who intended to devour them. However, Vritra and Vanessa revealed it was all an illusion, and they swiftly defeated Jackal and his mutant beasts before entering the tower.

Upon entering the tower, Vritra and his companions halted, noting a grand staircase ascending to their side.

Access to these stairs was through a door, which appeared to be secured by a lock.

The entirety of the current level was an expansive hall, populated by thousands of zombies and a single colossal figure at its heart.

However, their appearances suggested a lack of significant threat.

"I suppose this is merely the entrance, hence their diminished strength," Vritra surmised, shrugging. The zombies, their attention now drawn to the newcomers, began to emit guttural growls.

Some individuals had previous experience within the tower, and some had managed to conquer this initial floor, while the very first entrants had all met their demise.

Without any hesitation, he unleashed his spiritual burst, causing the heads of every zombie to simultaneously detonate.

BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM

Their forms dissolved into a gruesome slurry, pooling on the ground. The giant also perished instantaneously.

Subsequently, blood and tissue began to coalesce, gradually forming a blood key.

"So, this is the item required to unlock the door," Yasmine articulated the thought shared by all.

The objective was clear, and it seemed this floor served as a preliminary introduction.

"Let's proceed upwards then; we’ll be eliminating a great number of these repulsive beings," Fiona exclaimed, then paused, pondering their origin.

Were they once living beings, or merely constructs created for this trial?

Regardless of their nature, it held no immediate importance; their path lay onward and upward.

Vritra utilized his blood manipulation ability to maneuver the key, inserting it into the lock and turning. A soft buzz emanated from the door as it swung open.

Ascending the stairs, the group advanced to the second floor.

"I wonder how many levels this place has..." Maeve mused, attempting to probe with her shadow abilities, only to be thwarted by the door ahead.

A sigh escaped her lips.

Upon reaching the second floor, which seemed even more vast than the previous one, Vritra and the others surveyed their surroundings.

Towering figures, exceeding thirteen feet in height with bulging physiques and grotesque features, occupied the space. They were, after all, mutants.

'My goodness, why am I here?'

Asmodeus, positioned behind the group, felt an urge to weep. His talents leaned far more towards support and creation than direct combat.

Fortunately, neither Shitless nor any other member of the group was compelling him to engage in fighting.

"Giants..." Vritra scanned the expanse, questioning if any other entities were concealed among them.

Indeed, there was.

A wolf, considerably larger than any ordinary wolf, stood at a height of ten feet.

It was demonstrably more potent than the giants and had been concealed within the throng.

"So, the next stage will be filled with similar wolves?" Vanessa inquired, realizing their theories would soon be substantiated.

GRRRRRRR…

As the giants perceived the group, they turned, their movements significantly more agile than the zombies encountered below.

"Wifey, are you feeling alright?" Vritra inquired, diverting his attention from the giants momentarily to glance back at Yasmine.

"Yes, I am," she replied with a tender smile, sensing a gentle warmth suffuse her being.

She was already aware of his deep care for her, but this particular display of tenderness made her feel exceptionally cherished and content.

Although Vritra consistently treated them all with impartiality, she recognized she was currently receiving a greater degree of his affection.

Yasmine then cast a knowing glance at her sister.

Ever since they had awakened, Teresa had been adopting a somewhat peculiar gait, a fact that had not escaped anyone's notice.

It caused Yasmine to speculate on the intensity of her shy sister's recent encounter, observing that her husband certainly hadn't held back.

"Poor things, allow me to dispatch them!" Shitless expressed palpable eagerness to test his newly acquired skills.

"Not now, perhaps later," Vritra responded, declining the offer. He simply unleashed a single, potent spiritual burst, which proved sufficient to eliminate all the giants.

Once more, a key materialized from the accumulated blood and flesh of the giants and the wolf, subsequently unlocking the door leading to the next staircase.

They ascended, discovering a vast chamber filled with thousands of wolves, all emitting menacing growls, their power significantly exceeding that of the giants.

The instant they set foot inside, hundreds of these wolves launched themselves towards the group.

Yet again, a solitary spiritual burst sufficed to clear the entire floor, resulting in their instantaneous demise.

Within a celestial realm existing in a distant proximity, ten distinct entities convened around a grand circular table.

Their physical manifestations flickered, their sizes varying dramatically.

Ranging from a minuscule point to a magnitude comparable to celestial bodies.

These ten beings possessed overwhelmingly powerful auras, the table, initially appearing of modest size, ultimately revealed itself as a medium reflecting all current events within the game.

At this precise moment, the gods' collective focus was fixed upon the audacious individuals who had ventured into the tower.

They were not the first to do so, nor would they be the last.

This entire construct was devised exclusively for the players; how could ordinary humans even contemplate such an endeavor?

Furthermore, in one of the later stages, only ten participants would achieve progression, necessitating the random sacrifice of one out of the eleven.

Yet, this very aspect amplified the amusement for the gods.

"However, there is something peculiar about these particular humans," remarked one of the deities, whose form was the most diminutive.

"Among them, a player exists, and I sense it too, regarding those ten..." another god, whose form resembled a thin rope, remarked.

"It holds no consequence; any anomalies will be purged within this very tower."

"Moreover, we can no longer alter the circumstances. The tower has been opened to mortals, creating a spectacle of their inevitable demise." The god with the most substantial physique declared.

He continued, "For them, it's a futile hope. Even if they conquer every floor, reaching the pinnacle will forever elude them."

"Indeed. What is the response from the higher beings?" a deity whose appearance mimicked a book inquired, joining the exchange.

These divine entities were peculiar, their voices distorted, clearly not their true vocalizations.

The higher beings and others have imposed numerous restrictions, primarily to prevent partiality or any form of cheating within the game.

Yet, loopholes invariably exist, and these gods are adept at exploiting them.

They eliminate any player with a significant potential to ascend to godhood, thereby removing competition.

This is precisely why no god has been replaced for an extended period; they systematically eliminate promising players, allowing only the weak to progress.

"It would appear so, but I recently intercepted some explosive news," the book-like deity revealed, possessing an uncanny knack for acquiring global information.

"Oh! Do tell, don't keep us in suspense! I'll share my lollipop if you reveal it," a god, whose body evoked that of a child engrossed in a lollipop, chimed in.

However, with their forms entirely indistinct, none could be truly discerned.

"I had no intention of withholding it," the book god responded, accompanied by a sound like flipping pages.

He then elaborated, "I recently learned that the Divine has made a move."

"A lineage connected to the higher beings has vanished without a trace. They are currently attempting to suppress the news."

The gods engaged in gossip while keeping their attention fixed on the game laid out before them.

"Oh, truly? The Divine still possesses such formidable strength! Haa, thankfully, I refrained from confronting him last time." The infantile deity wiped imaginary sweat from his brow.

"Is he genuinely alive? Was he unharmed?" a female god, whose form fluctuated between various musical instruments, asked.

Her transformations intensified noticeably upon hearing the Divine's name, betraying a profound connection to him.

"Yes, he is alive and well, or so the news suggests. His motives remain unknown; he simply abducted an entire family," the book god added.

"Hmm, he has always been enigmatic, yet he never undertook actions of this magnitude. When did he even escape that realm of destruction?"

"Not even the titans managed to escape. Haa, I knew this individual was trouble," the rope god sighed.

"That scoundrel! I will obliterate him for what he did to me!!" another god bellowed in fury.

His physique resembled a human's, albeit significantly larger and more robust.

Yet, the most peculiar aspect was the pair of holes on his head, precisely where his eyes should have been.

One could perceive straight through his head, as the openings extended completely to the back.

"Calm yourself, calm yourself. That was merely the Divine's peculiar way of showing affection. Observe, he even took my heart."

The baby god declared, exposing a hollow cavity where his chest had been.

A demonic heart once resided there, but it was now conspicuously absent.

And when the Divine engaged all ten of them, he hadn't even attained godhood yet.

Fortunately, these gods had multiple contingencies in place, and despite the illicit means, they ultimately subdued him.

However, they failed to vanquish him entirely due to his sisters, who sacrificed themselves to shield the Divine.

"Haa, it seems we must recommence our preparations. We will undoubtedly be drawn into the ensuing chaos if he orchestrates such significant events."

They remained oblivious to the fact that the Divine had fathered a titan. Had they known, not only the gods, but even the higher beings would have been thrown into unrest.

"And what of that individual? The successor to the Divine, did he survive?" an aged voice inquired – it belonged to a god who, like humans, was exceedingly thin and frail.

Naturally, they could not overlook such a formidable threat, one against whom even divine punishments had been enlisted.
