He Xiran accidentally severely injures a mountain cat she was trying to capture. Chen Yang helps the cat, realizing its spine is broken and it cannot be moved easily. He quickly refines taming pills to calm the beast and then brings it back to his clinic. There, Chen Yang performs surgery to set the cat's bones and immobilizes it, warning He Xiran about the severity of the injury.
This intensive cultivation session stretched through the entire night, only concluding when the morning sun cast its first rays into the room.

"I’ll grab something to eat and then deliver the body-tempering Elixir to my second uncle," he decided aloud.

With the supply of body-tempering Elixirs for the Qiu League members depleted the previous day, Chen Yang was keen to make the delivery first thing this morning.

He rose, carefully storing the elixirs he had refined overnight. Then, exiting his room, he headed for the backyard.

Upon entering the backyard, a figure near the cattle shed caught his eye.

Could that be He Xiran? he wondered.

A closer look confirmed his suspicion – it was indeed He Xiran! Had she remained here all night, staying with the lynx?

"Xiran?" Chen Yang called out, his voice laced with surprise.

He Xiran turned her head instantly at the sound of his voice.

"Chen Yang, you’re awake," He Xiran replied with a gentle smile.

"Xiran, did you stay here all night, or did you just arrive this morning?" Chen Yang inquired as he walked closer.

He Xiran's face was radiant with smiles. "Didn't you say yesterday that Xiaohua moving too much could cause deformities? I stayed to keep an eye on it and prevent it from moving, so its recovery should be quite good, right? Come and take a look for me."

Xiaohua? Chen Yang felt a wave of confusion, unsure of what she meant.

Nevertheless, he immediately knelt to examine the lynx’s condition.

Logically, the effects of the taming pill should have dissipated by now. The lynx should not be this placid in the morning.

Yet, for some inexplicable reason, the lynx wasn't just quiet; it showed no inclination to struggle. It lay utterly still on the ground.

Even when Chen Yang touched it, there was no reaction.

"What's wrong with it? Why isn't it irritable at all?" Chen Yang voiced his bewilderment.

He Xiran, standing nearby, chuckled and explained, "Xiaohua accepted my apology yesterday, so of course, it’s not acting aggressively. It’s being very well-behaved."

As she spoke, He Xiran, her smile as lovely as a painting, reached out to stroke the lynx’s head.

Far from resisting, the lynx seemed to relish the affection, a sight that astonished Chen Yang as much as seeing He Xiran tend to it yesterday.

The lynx’s spine hadn’t even fully healed, yet here it was, behaving so calmly.

Even though he wasn’t privy to the specifics of yesterday’s events, it was clear the lynx had accepted He Xiran.

It was highly probable that He Xiran’s overnight vigil had played a significant role.

Chen Yang meticulously examined the lynx, both inside and out, performing a thorough check.

His comprehensive examination revealed that the lynx was entirely normal.

The fractured spine had not shifted, and all indications pointed to excellent healing.

"Hmm, the recovery is progressing well, and the bones haven't shifted. It should be able to move normally in at most two more days," Chen Yang concluded his assessment.

"That's wonderful!" He Xiran exclaimed, her face lighting up at the good news. She continued to gently stroke the lynx’s head. "Xiaohua, did you hear that? You're recovering nicely, and in just a few days, you'll be able to move around freely again. I truly apologize for what happened yesterday, and I say sorry again."

A low growl rumbled from the lynx, as if it understood He Xiran’s words.

Witnessing this interaction, Chen Yang offered a gentle smile.

He felt glad for He Xiran.

Despite the awkwardness of the previous day, it was a relief that the lynx had ultimately accepted her.

Furthermore, based on his observations, this lynx possessed a rather high cultivation realm, being at the late stage of the Arcane Strength Realm.

Typically, such wild spiritual beasts rarely tolerated human interaction, often viewing humans as mere sustenance.

It was quite uncommon for one to accept He Xiran so swiftly.

"Alright, I’m heading to the kitchen to prepare some breakfast. Would you like some?" Chen Yang asked, standing up.

"No, I’m fine. Do you have any meat available? Xiaohua hasn't eaten anything all night and might be hungry," He Xiran replied, looking up at Chen Yang.

Chen Yang found her concern both amusing and a little exasperating.

This girl.

"Yes, just wait a moment."

Chen Yang readily agreed and then called out to Brother Eagle from its perch. "Brother Eagle, could you do me a favor and catch some rabbits for Xiaohua to eat?" he asked.

Brother Eagle responded with an eager chirp and, without delay, spread its wings, soaring towards the mountains.

Meanwhile, Chen Yang proceeded to the kitchen and prepared two bowls of noodles.

Even though He Xiran had declined, Chen Yang noted that she hadn't eaten for nearly a full day. While cultivators could endure periods without food, it was always beneficial to eat when the opportunity arose.

"Here you go, noodles," Chen Yang said, presenting the bowls.

Chen Yang brought the two bowls of noodles to the cattle shed, offering one to He Xiran.

Although He Xiran had previously stated she wouldn't eat, she accepted the noodles when Chen Yang presented them.

"Wow, this aroma is incredible! It smells even better than the noodles from the shops outside," He Xiran exclaimed after taking a sniff.

"Naturally, this is my own special recipe; it's not something those small noodle places outside can possibly match. Try it," Chen Yang boasted.

"Okay."

He Xiran nodded and began to eat.

After both of them had consumed most of their meals, Brother Eagle returned from the mountains, carrying rabbits.

Brother Eagle had been quite successful in its hunt.

It had caught five or six plump rabbits.

All of them dropped from the sky, landing on the ground, before it gracefully flew back to its perch on the cattle shed’s eaves.

"Thank you for your hard work, Brother Eagle," Chen Yang said with a smile, looking at the rabbits on the ground and addressing Brother Eagle.

Chirp chirp.

Brother Eagle chirped a couple of times, as if responding, 'You are most welcome.'

"Here are the rabbits. Let's see how much your Xiaohua likes them," Chen Yang said with a grin, picking up a rabbit and tossing it to Xiaohua.

Xiaohua showed no hesitation.

Upon seeing the food placed before it, the creature began to devour it in large gulps.

In a very short time, the entire rabbit, weighing several pounds, was completely consumed.

Roar!

After finishing the first rabbit, it immediately let out a roar at Chen Yang.

It appeared as though it had not had enough and desired more.

"Such an appetite! You truly are something else."

Chen Yang chuckled slightly and promptly tossed another rabbit its way.

Once again, it was devoured in mere moments, just like the first.

"More."

Chen Yang continued to toss more rabbits.

The third, the fourth...

It wasn't until the sixth rabbit that it finally seemed somewhat content after consuming it all.

"My goodness, He Xiran, your Xiaohua is an incredible glutton! Are six rabbits still not sufficient?" Chen Yang expressed his astonishment at its truly enormous appetite.

He Xiran couldn't help but let out a laugh as well.

"Perhaps it was absolutely famished, which is why it's eating so much," He Xiran offered as an explanation.

Chen Yang simply smiled without a verbal reply and promptly dispatched Brother Eagle to fetch another five to six rabbits from the mountains.

After feeding it all the rabbits, it was finally enough.

It was completely full.

"Alright, it needs to rest now, and you need rest too. I'll take you back to the hotel, which is perfect timing for me to discuss something with my second uncle," Chen Yang announced.

At this moment, He Xiran was indeed feeling quite tired, and Xiaohua was clearly exhausted as well, closing its eyes after its substantial meal.

Realizing there was no further purpose in staying, she nodded in agreement to return to the hotel with Chen Yang.
