The Crown Prince Aldren Valorant ascended the throne following his father's death, stabilizing the empire and then heading to the battlefield. Upon meeting the other Emperors, Aldren learned of a new threat: Ethan Blanks, an unexpectedly powerful warrior from Arcadia who can summon a future version of himself. The Emperors await Ethan's arrival to discuss the fate of Arcadia.

Ethan entered the room and immediately noticed the heavy atmosphere inside. He did not say anything at first. Instead, he walked forward calmly and gave everyone a deep bow out of respect.

When he raised his head, his eyes moved across the room and finally stopped on the new Emperor of Valorant.

Aldren was staring at him with a strange gaze.

Ethan blinked.

'Why does he look annoyed? Did I provoke him?'

He could not remember doing anything to offend the new Emperor, so he simply looked around the room again. The tension in the air was quite obvious, and the expressions of the other Emperors made him even more cautious.

Emperor Caelus pointed toward an empty seat.

"Sit."

Ethan immediately shook his head and stepped back slightly.

"I dare not."

His response made the others exchange glances. After a brief moment, Queen Ophelia also gestured toward the seat.

"Sit, Ethan. There is no need to be so formal."

"Yes. Sit down," Emperor Alderic added.

Seeing that everyone was asking him respectfully, Ethan finally gave in. He walked over and sat down carefully, keeping his posture straight.

For a moment, nobody spoke.

Then Emperor Alderic leaned forward slightly and looked directly at him.

"So, Ethan, tell me."

"What is your future plan?"

"??"

A confused expression appeared on Ethan's face.

"What do you mean?"

Seeing that he clearly had not understood what they were asking, Queen Ophelia decided to make things clear. She folded her hands together and looked at Ethan with a serious expression.

"Ethan, the past few days we have been thinking about it. You see, we are in a pinch, so after all the discussion, we want to ask you."

She paused for a moment before asking directly.

"Do you want to be Emperor of Arcadia?"

Ethan's eyebrows rose slightly.

He did not answer immediately.

The question was far more serious than he had expected.

"Yes, Emperor. We have already witnessed what you are capable of, and we know about your policies. You seem to be quite a capable lord, so we wonder if you have any interest in governing?"

"I see."

Ethan chuckled lightly and leaned back in his chair.

He looked at the four Emperors one by one before asking calmly.

"What if I said yes?"

The expressions of the Emperors shifted slightly.

The atmosphere immediately became more serious.

Emperor Caelus noticed the change and spoke before the situation could become tense.

"Don't misunderstand, Ethan. We have no problem with you being the Emperor as long as it's not some bastard like Alaster doing all kinds of stupid things."

He then turned toward the large map placed on the table. His finger moved across the territory that once belonged to Arcadia.

"It's just that we planned to share this piece of pie, for which we invested heavily. Now, if we get nothing, it feels like we wasted a lot of effort."

His expression became somewhat bitter.

"We lost countless soldiers during this war. Some of our strongest warriors were injured, and many never returned. We spent a huge amount of resources, weapons and supplies just to keep the battlefield stable. Our armies had to travel across dangerous regions, and maintaining them there also cost us a great deal."

He slowly lowered his hand from the map.

"At the end of it all, we are ashamed to even face our own people if we return with nothing."

Ethan listened quietly.

He could understand their position.

They had entered the war expecting something in return, and now the situation had completely changed because of him.

"So, do you want me to pay for the loss if I become Emperor of Arcadia?" Ethan asked.

There was a subtle glint in his eyes.

The atmosphere immediately became tense.

The Emperors exchanged glances, and Queen Ophelia quickly spoke before Ethan could misunderstand their intentions.

"Of course not."

Her voice was calm and sincere.

"If you are going to be Emperor, we have to turn a blind eye after all. You saved us all. If not for your timely assistance with that weird magic, we might have been done for."

Ethan's eyes narrowed slightly as he listened.

The four Emperors had clearly come prepared to discuss the future of Arcadia.

And now, that future depended heavily on what he decided to do.

Ethan stared directly at the four Emperors. He did not immediately answer. His eyes moved from one face to another as he quietly studied their expressions.

No one spoke.

The room became unusually silent, and the only sound was the faint crackling of the crystal lamp beside the table.

Emperor Caelus remained calm, but his fingers slowly tapped against the table. Alderic watched Ethan carefully, trying to understand what was going through his mind. Queen Ophelia remained composed, although her eyes were fixed on Ethan without moving.

Even Aldren, the youngest among them, had stopped looking annoyed. His expression had become serious as he waited for Ethan's answer.

Ethan leaned back slightly and crossed his arms.

"You all want me to become Emperor of Arcadia."

"Yes," Caelus replied.

"And you are willing to accept me taking the throne?"

"We have already said that," Alderic answered. "As long as you don't become another Alaster, we have no reason to oppose you."

Ethan nodded slowly.

"And if I accept, you won't try to interfere with Arcadia's internal matters?"

The four Emperors exchanged glances.

"We have no reason to," Queen Ophelia replied. "Arcadia will be yours to govern."

"Then why do I feel like there is still something you haven't said?"

The room became silent again.

Alderic sighed before speaking.

"We only want one thing."

"What?"

"Don't forget what happened here."

His expression became solemn.

"We lost people too, Ethan. Whatever you decide to do with Arcadia, don't treat the sacrifices made by our Empires as if they meant nothing."

Ethan's gaze remained calm.

"I won't."

"Also at least allow us to do trade and give us some benefits like waving trade tax and others."Caelus added.

Ethan looked toward the map again. His eyes traveled across the vast territory that once belonged to Arcadia. It was an enormous piece of land, filled with cities, resources and countless people.

Becoming its ruler would mean having enormous authority.

He could make laws.

He could command armies.

He could control resources.

Millions of people would have to bow before him.For someone else, it might have been an irresistible offer.

Ethan remained silent for several moments.

Then he slowly raised his head and looked directly at the four Emperors.

"Becoming an Emperor, ruling over a vast land and making everyone bow..."

A faint smile appeared on his face.

"It sounds quite good. Honestly, I like it, but..."

He stopped.

The four Emperors immediately focused on him.

"But?"

Ethan's smile disappeared. His expression became calm as he leaned forward slightly and gave them his answer.

"But I refuse."
