"It looks like that black mist is strengthening them."
A Saint knight narrowed his eyes while carefully observing the battlefield.
"This isn't natural at all.I have fought monsters for hundreds of years yet I have never seen anything like this."
Duke Osantra slowly stepped forward while keeping his eyes fixed on the dark mist.
His expression gradually became heavier.
"The miasma..."
"So this is why the monster tide hasn't stopped."
One of the older nobles quietly swallowed.
"If this continues..."
"The monsters will only keep becoming stronger."
Another Saint looked toward the endless dungeon gates and slowly clenched his fist.
"Not only are the dungeon gates continuously releasing monsters, but the miasma is also strengthening every one of them."
"This is becoming troublesome."
Everyone silently looked ahead.
The more they observed, the uglier their expressions became.
Every passing second allowed more monsters to leave the dungeon gates, and every beast that entered the valley was immediately covered by the black miasma before rushing toward the battlefield with even greater ferocity.
The entire place looked like a breeding ground for disaster.
Duke Osantra slowly turned toward Ethan.
"It seems your judgment was correct."
"If we hadn't come here ourselves, we would never have discovered the real source of this trouble.Only by eliminating them can we rest in peace."
Ethan kept staring at the valley while his brows remained tightly furrowed.
His gaze swept across the dungeon gates before finally settling on the endless black miasma spreading across the mountains.
A bad feeling quietly rose inside his heart.
"This is far worse than I expected."
He slowly let out a breath while keeping his eyes on the corrupted land ahead.
"Something is feeding this miasma..."
"And until we find that source...The monsters are not going to stop."
.....
BANGGGGG!
The rocky ground exploded beneath Haster's feet as he stepped down with overwhelming force. Cracks rapidly spread across the stone while dust rose into the air. The calm expression that usually rested on his face had completely disappeared and in its place was a frightening look filled with anger.
"What?!"
"Who allowed them to go all the way to the core of the dungeon?"
His furious voice echoed across the command camp and every nearby soldier instinctively lowered their heads. Even the officers standing close to him felt their hearts tremble because this was one of the very few times they had ever seen the Crown Prince lose his temper.
Haster's sharp eyes swept across everyone standing before him.
"Answer me!"
"Who gave them permission?"
"Did I order anyone to go that deep?"
His voice became colder with every word.
"Did I command them to rush straight into the heart of the dungeon?"
The officers looked at one another, yet nobody dared answer immediately.
Finally, one of the generals stepped forward and respectfully bowed.
"Your Highness..."
"They only wished to eliminate the root cause of the dungeon break."
"They believed that if they destroyed the source, the monster tide would eventually stop."
Before he could finish speaking, Haster coldly interrupted him.
"I don't care what they believed!"
His voice exploded throughout the camp.
"If they wanted to act on their own, then why am I standing here?"
"They are Saint Knights."
"They are not reckless children who can do whatever comes into their heads."
Another officer cautiously stepped forward.
"Your Highness..."
"They were only thinking about the army. They feared the monster tide would continue growing if nobody dealt with the source."
Haster's face darkened even further.
"And what if they walk straight into a trap?"
"What if the enemy has already prepared an ambush there?"
"What if every Saint we have is buried inside those mountains?"
His sharp gaze swept across everyone present.
"Who will defend the army then?"
Silence immediately filled the camp.
Nobody dared answer.
After a few moments, Haster slowly took a deep breath to suppress the anger inside him, although the frustration on his face had not faded in the slightest.
He immediately turned toward one of the Saint Knights standing nearby.
"You."
The Saint Knight immediately stepped forward.
"Yes, Your Highness."
"Go there immediately."
"Bring every one of them back."
"I don't care if you have to drag them back."
"They are not to continue advancing without my order."
The Saint Knight immediately cupped his fist.
"As you command."
He had just turned around and was about to leave when hurried footsteps suddenly echoed from outside the command tent.
A messenger rushed inside while breathing heavily.
His face had already turned pale.
He quickly dropped onto one knee.
"My Lord!"
Haster frowned as he looked toward the frightened messenger.
"What happened now?"
The messenger trembled after feeling Haster's cold gaze.
He lowered his head even further before speaking.
"My Lord..."
"The other side has attacked."
Haster's eyes instantly narrowed.
The temperature inside the tent seemed to drop.
His gaze became extremely cold.
"Repeat that."
The messenger swallowed hard.
"Your Highness..."
"The Allied Army has launched an attack."
For a brief moment, complete silence filled the command tent.
The next instant...
"Bloody bastards!"
Haster roared in fury.
The loud shout shook the entire tent while everyone present instinctively straightened their backs.
He tightly clenched both fists and forcefully suppressed the anger rising inside him.
His eyes slowly turned toward the battlefield map spread across the table.
"They chose this exact moment...So this was their plan all along."
Without wasting another second, Haster immediately began issuing orders.
"Sound the war horns."
"Mobilize every available unit."
"Order the front line to immediately reinforce the defensive positions."
"Tell every commander to prepare for battle."
His voice remained calm once more, yet the coldness within it made everyone's heart tighten.
"We will not allow them to break through."
"Move immediately!"
"Yes, Your Highness!"
The officers saluted together before rushing out of the tent as fast as they could while the sound of war horns soon echoed throughout the entire Arcadian camp once again.
