Duke Osantra and Saint Knights observe a black mist strengthening monsters emerging from dungeon gates. Ethan believes a source is feeding the miasma, and it must be eliminated. Meanwhile, Crown Prince Haster is furious that Saint Knights advanced too deep into a dungeon without orders. Before he can recall them, a messenger reports the Allied Army has attacked, forcing Haster to mobilize all forces.

The deeper Ethan and Duke Osantra advanced into the corrupted valley, the greater the pressure became because monsters continued pouring out of the dungeon gates without showing any sign of stopping.

The dark miasma drifted across the ground like a living fog and every beast that stepped into it let out a furious roar before its aura suddenly became stronger. Their eyes glowed with madness while their bodies swelled with violent power, and even ordinary monsters became far more dangerous after remaining inside the black mist for only a short time.

Following closely behind them were several powerful nobles and Saint Knights who had decided to accompany the two.

Duke Osantra, Marquis Varden, Count Helios, and two Saint Knights continuously protected their flanks while cutting down every monster that attempted to surround them. Although none of them matched the overwhelming strength of Ethan or Duke Osantra, they were more than powerful enough to keep the endless monster tide from slowing the advance.

Ethan frowned while looking at the endless stream of monsters.

"They're getting stronger because of the miasma."

Duke Osantra nodded as he tightened his grip around his sword.

"We can't let them continue gathering."

"The boss should be somewhere deeper inside."

"Let's clear a path."

The group immediately rushed forward together.

SWISH!

Their figures shot ahead while the surrounding monsters charged straight toward them without fear. The first group barely reached them before Ethan swung his greatsword. A wide arc of sword energy swept across the battlefield and blasted aside the charging beasts while several monsters were thrown backward and crashed into the rocky cliffs.

At almost the same moment, Duke Osantra stepped forward with calm yet overwhelming momentum and his sword flashed once before another group of monsters was cut down.

The nobles behind them also sprang into action.

One of them raised his sword and released a powerful slash that swept through several Shadow Wolves before they could surround the group.

Marquis Varden thrust his spear forward repeatedly while piercing through the heads of charging monsters one after another.

Count Helios cast several spells that exploded among the incoming beasts and forced back another wave trying to close in from the side.

The two Saint Knights remained near the rear while guarding the formation and making sure no monster broke through their defenses.

Together they continued pushing deeper into the valley while constantly carving a path through the endless horde.

Wherever they passed, monster corpses quickly piled across the ground because none of the ordinary beasts could stop their advance. Giant Iron Horn Boars charged one after another, but Ethan met them head-on and knocked them away with powerful swings of his greatsword.

Packs of Shadow Wolves tried surrounding the group from every direction, yet Duke Osantra calmly stepped between them and his sword flashed repeatedly while the wolves collapsed before they could even close the distance. Whenever another wave rushed from behind, the accompanying nobles immediately intercepted them and kept the path open.

The deeper they moved, the denser the miasma became and the stronger the monsters grew.

More powerful demonic beasts gradually appeared while enormous creatures emerged from the dungeon gates and let out deafening roars that echoed throughout the mountains. Even so, none of them slowed down because everyone understood that killing ordinary monsters would never end this disaster.

"We're getting close."

Ethan narrowed his eyes while carefully observing the surroundings.

"I can feel something stronger ahead."

Duke Osantra also sensed it.

Without wasting another moment, the entire group increased their speed and rushed toward the center of the valley while cutting through every monster standing in their way. Several dungeon gates continued releasing beasts behind them, but they ignored the endless tide and focused only on the source.

Moments later...

The group suddenly stopped.

A huge cave stood before them.

Dark miasma continuously poured out from its entrance while the surrounding ground had completely turned black. The rocks themselves looked rotten and countless monster bones were scattered around the area.

A low growl slowly echoed from inside.

The next moment, an enormous figure crawled out.

Ethan's eyes narrowed.

"So that's the boss..."

The creature looked like a nightmare stitched together from countless different beasts. Thick limbs of different sizes protruded from every part of its enormous body while twisted claws continuously crawled across its flesh as though they were still alive.

Several monstrous heads were fused together along its back while countless blood-red eyes slowly opened one after another and stared directly at the group. Black miasma continuously flowed into its body and its aura steadily became stronger with every passing second.

The nobles behind Ethan instinctively tightened their grips on their weapons.

"What the hell is that thing..."

Count Helios muttered with a pale expression.

Duke Osantra's face immediately became serious.

"We can't let it continue absorbing the miasma."

He looked toward the others.

"Hold back the smaller monsters."

"We'll deal with the boss."

"Understood!"

The nobles immediately spread out around the battlefield.

Marquis Varden blocked the entrance to the cave while keeping the surrounding monsters from interfering.

Count Helios and the two Saint Knights intercepted several giant beasts rushing toward Ethan and Duke Osantra while Ethan repeatedly cast spells to stop more monsters from reaching them.

The huge demonic beast let out a furious roar and swung several enormous limbs toward the two.

BOOM!

The ground exploded where the attack landed.

Duke Osantra had already disappeared.

His figure flashed across the battlefield before instantly appearing beside the monster.

A brilliant sword light erupted.

SLASH!

His sword cut through one of the gigantic limbs with overwhelming force and the severed arm crashed heavily onto the ground. Without stopping, Duke Osantra moved again and another clean slash cut apart two more twisted limbs crawling out from the creature's massive body. The monster roared furiously while trying to regenerate, but Duke Osantra gave it no opportunity to recover.

"Ethan!"

"Now!"

Ethan's eyes instantly sharpened.

He tightly gripped his greatsword while Chaos energy quietly gathered around the blade. Dark currents slowly wrapped around the sword before spreading across the surrounding air.

He stepped forward.Everything around him seemed to slow for a brief moment.

The next instant...

SWISH!

His figure disappeared.

Before the monster could react, Ethan had already appeared directly before its enormous head.

He raised the greatsword.

"Chaos Swordsmanship..."

A dark sword light flashed across the battlefield.

The enormous blade descended with unstoppable force.

SLASH!

The strike cleanly passed through the monster's neck.

For a brief moment, everything became still.

Then the gigantic head slowly separated from the body before crashing heavily onto the ground.

BOOOOOOM!

The impact shook the surrounding valley while dust and broken rocks rose into the air.

The remaining body trembled violently for several moments before collapsing with a thunderous crash. The dark aura surrounding it rapidly weakened while the miasma flowing toward the creature slowly began losing its direction.

Ethan slowly lowered his greatsword and let out a quiet breath.

"It looks like we got the job done."

Duke Osantra looked at the fallen monster before slowly nodding.
