Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven Chapter 461: Null Zone, The God Relic
Grey chuckled inwardly.
[That is true,] the Fragment agreed.
Some nobles were clearly looking down on him, some eyed him with a highly curious light, while others stared with blatant hostility. The cosmic world was a very dark place indeed.
However, Grey’s attention shifted abruptly when he saw two figures emerging onto the grand stage designated for the eighteen-year-old bracket.
Grey was completely baffled when he saw the young man who had just stepped into the light.
Standing confidently on one side of the massive arena was a young man with flowing white hair, a shining golden sword gripped tightly in his hand, and an incredibly handsome face that could easily capture anyone’s attention.
This man was none other than Evan.
"For today’s very first match, we have Evan Brown! A highly promising talent acknowledged by many, proudly representing the Heavenly Sword Spirit Sect of the Celestial Ascendant Divine Kingdom!" the massive raccoon drone boomed through the stadium speakers.
"And standing to his right, we have the esteemed young heir of the Mystic Azure Mansion! I am sure everyone already knows him by now. Who does not know Young Master Edward Azureheaven?"
Just as quickly, the participants for the twenty-to-twenty-one age bracket also stepped onto their respective spatial stage. Jeremiah walked out calmly, and standing directly across from him was John Einsworth.
"Hahaha! Well, look at that," Duke William Einsworth burst out laughing from the VIP stands. "It looks like our two eldest sons are battling it out early, Mr. Anderson."
"That seems to be the case," Anderson replied with a flat, highly unamused tone. Angela looked down at the stadium with bright hope in her eyes. She firmly believed her son would win without a doubt.
Then, someone else chimed into the conversation.
"Jeremiah and John. They are both exceptionally talented." The one who spoke was the Lord of the Mystic Azure Mansion, Godfrey Azureheaven.
"Greetings, Lord Godfrey," the two Dukes respectfully greeted him.
He nodded back with a pleasant smile. "May the victor be the absolute best among them."
No one in the VIP section even bothered speaking about Evan. But Grey knew exactly how this familiar trope worked. This unknown kid would now proceed to face-slap every single arrogant noble in his path and thoroughly shock the entire Pan-Cosmic Alliance!
Grey noted to the Fragment.
-----
"Alissa, why did you do that to my brother?" Juli stormed angrily into the luxurious private room arranged specifically for Miwa, Alissa, and herself.
Miwa looked at the pair with a deeply concerned expression. The two girls never fought, but Juli looked incredibly furious right now.
"Grey is my actual brother! Why did you humiliate him like that in public? Now everyone on the CosmoWeb is talking badly about him."
"I could not show that I knew him," Alissa replied softly, her voice strained. "And besides, you know exactly how the Dragon Clan handles their political affairs. I would not have been able to stop Elder Errol myself."
"To them, I am just a highly valuable political tool," she added, her face masking her turbulent emotions.
She was hurting much more than Juli right now. Blatantly disregarding Grey like that in front of a crowd was something she could barely forgive herself for. She desperately wanted to rush forward and speak to him after not seeing him for so many months. The only people she truly knew in this massive starry sky were Miwa and Juli. Yet, the one person who truly understood her the most was Grey.
He knew about her unique circumstances and even the deep truth of her ancient race. He had always treated her with genuine kindness despite her acting cold to him in the past. Now, this entire forced occurrence left an incredibly bitter taste in her mouth.
"I did not expect this from you, Alissa," Juli shook her head in heavy disappointment. "Because of your silence, my brother has become a laughingstock on the internet."
What she said was the harsh truth. Prominent nobles aside, ordinary people had already started viciously trolling Grey on the CosmoWeb forums.
However, right before she could continue her scolding, the massive stadium room they were standing in began to shake violently.
They immediately frowned and turned their attention back to the live broadcast screen. The instant they saw what had emerged above the arena, their expressions turned grim.
----
"Huh? What is this?" The Grand Arbiter, who was resting calmly in his supreme seat, abruptly rose to his feet the instant he felt the cosmic laws violently distort.
In the following moment, a terrifying glitch in reality tore through the atmosphere. The bright blue sky of the Origin Planet suddenly went completely pitch black. The very fabric of space destabilized. Instantly, every single expert at the 6th Rank and above had a drastic change of expression.
The dark sky violently shattered like fragile glass. Multiple jagged, abyssal portals began to rapidly form across the atmosphere, oozing a foul, corrupted energy. Tian Yuan’s indifferent expression immediately turned deadly serious when he saw the rifts.
He silently shot a highly calculating glance down at Grey in the VIP stands. Grey was already looking right back up at him with a completely deadpan look.
"What is happening? My powers... I cannot use my Domain Force anymore!" Anderson shouted, his expression turning incredibly ugly.
It was not just him. All across the massive stadium, as long as a cultivator was at the 6th Rank or above, they found their energy reserves completely locked down. None of the supreme experts could use their abilities anymore!
"Stop trying to sense your cores. You will not be able to. I have officially activated a supreme God Relic called the Null Zone to forcibly seal all of your high-level powers."
Just then, a casual, highly sinister laughter echoed directly out from the largest portal, booming like thunder across the entire Origin Planet.
